X-Stream Power Wash & Paint

Mike did a great job on our deck and even left us extra stain in case we needed it. Took the time to really clean the deck before staining it and it looks great! Highly recommend and very cost effective and efficient.

Xstreamly lazy, xstreamly poor work and xstreamly poor attitude. The only thing this company is proficient in is excuses. Our stairs are poorly cobbled together with a handful of screws that I had to finish driving in, there are drips and runs on part of the deck and bare wood on others. We have a garden and lawn with more stain coverage than our deck. They only power washed the parts of the house they could reach without a ladder. They showed no knowledge of construction skills or pride in the job they were doing. They actually shortened the life span of our deck and provided me with lots of extra work to finish the lazy job they did. The only positive to come from their work is I can now show my son the importance of taking ownership of your work and having pride in your product.

Mike was originally was hired to stain our deck (which is raised as it is over a walk-out basement) and our playset. I found his name on the Rainbow Recreation website which is where we got our playset. I put out requests for estimates to a couple of companies the middle of May, and he was the first to respond to me. It took a while for the job to get scheduled because Mike was very booked up. We had the signed contract to him by May 18th. I told him that I was having my daughters outdoor birthday party on June 23rd and needed it done before that. In the mean time, I felt like he kept trying to sell me things as he gave me an estimate to powerwash the fence as well as the house. I did cave in and have him powerwash the house. However, as time went by it started to get really close to my daughters birthday party. He kept changing the date he would come because of the wind. He finally said he would come on June 18th. I decided to confirm with him the night before via email that he was actually going to show up (I felt like this should have been his job). He did show up and powerwashed the playset and the deck. He also did the house. When I got home from work there were red dots all over my house. It was as if he had blasted rust on my house. I showed this to him the next day when he came back to paint and he agreed to redo it. Even when he redid it, there were still some dots. He said it was residue from the gutters above the house. While they red eventually came off, I wish he had warned me about this. He came back the next day to stain the deck and playset. He was very thorough in applying plastic to the house and surrounding areas to ensure the paint did not get on things. The painting did not take very long as he used some sort of sprayer. He recommended staying off the deck for a week, which was not possible at this point with the birthday party. It's now 6 months later, and I feel like it has held up fairly well. There are some places that are starting to chip, but we should be able to get through another summer before getting it painted again. Overall, the deck and playset look good, but I felt like I had to put WAY too much work into the process. I also felt like it should not have taken a month to get to my house.

Excellent! I asked Mike to stain my deck which was in really bad shape because of a previous providers work. The timeframe which I requested was ultra aggressive. Mike promised he would get it done and did exactly that. Deck was sanded, copper balusters cleaned and deck was stained. It looks like a new deck! I've used Mike multiple times for other work and will continue to do so.

Worst experience of my life ! Mike Davis told me that he could/would build a beautiful deck. Within a couple of months we had boards popping up all over the floor of the deck.Things continued to get worse. I repeatedly tried to get Mike Davis to come out and fix it. You could not do business with a nastier person. When he did come out he actually kicked my dog....Yes, kicked her with the side of his boot ! He partially replaced 4 boards and said that was all he was going to do. In August I contacted the Building Commisioner for St. Charles County and he immediately condemned my deck. Mostly because the stairs were falling off. I also contacted the BBB and eventually Mike's score with them was lowered from a B to a D. However since he was not a member of the BBB they could not force him to go to arbitration and because he refused the arbitration process the BBB was not able to make him do anything or pay me any of the money which I had paid to him. My only satisfaction came in the fact that his score was lowered significantly and hopefully prospective customers will notice this and not use his services.

They did a great job. I have rehired them and I would rehire them again.

We came in contact with this company at the St. Louis home show in March 2011. We talked to them about cleaning and staining our deck. They gave us a quote sight unseen and clearly bid it low thinking it would be an easy job. We told them from the begining the problems with the previous stain. They assured us that this wouldnt be a problem and they could take care of it. The day they came out to clean the deck, we were told that it might take more cleaning and some sanding to get the older stain off. They also told us that it would be $500 more if they did that. Rather then add to our cost we took on the task of sanding the whole deck ourselves. We were 99% done when the owner showed up to stain it. He mentioned that it might take more stain then he orginally thought, and then told us it would us another $60. We didnt pay him for this additional charge based on the orginal quote that never showed how much stain it would take. Later that day it rained and it looks like some of the stain has washed off boards or they were just missed completely. Its been a week now and there are water stains showing up on top the stain. When calling the owner he gave us excuses and was blaming everyone else but himself. We asked him to come out and look at it, so we can get the issue resolved. He acted like there was nothing he did wrong and doesnt care that we arent happy with the way the deck looks. I want everyone to be aware when dealing with this company. DO NOT go threw the same hassle we have dealt with. Feburary 26th, 2012.. 7 months after being cleaned and stained ,our deck is starting to grey and mold already. I cant imagine that a product that we were told would work for 2 years is starting to fail already. For further justification check the BBB on this company. Would not reccommend, refer or force anyone to use this company.

I had used Mike (X-Stream Power Wash) before so when I called him for an estimate he came over that evening. It was a Friday. I explained that I was getting the house ready to sell and I was in a hurry. I showed Mike a pillow that I wanted to match the color to. Mike returned with another painter on Monday and they went right to work. They covered the floor as they went from room to room. In the bedroom they also covered all the furniture. They worked all day and then Mike returned on Tuesday, alone. Since the other guy did not show up, Mike worked until 9:00 p.m., but got everything finished. He was, and is, very professional. He is also polite and an expert craftsman. Mike had the idea to leave the archways betweeen rooms the white color he was painting over. I originally argued with him, but he was right (as usual). He charged my $1350, but I was so pleased with his work that I gave him a tip of $150. I appreciated the fact that the work was done quickly, neatly, and exactly the way I wanted.

EXCEPTIONAL! Mike assessed the situation and gave us a quote. The price needed to be adjusted several times because of all the new work that was involved. He charged us his price for materials. Even though I paid a lot of money I got my money's worth. The deck is absolutely beautiful, and STURDY! Mike and Jason arrived when promised and began work. They brought a trailer to cart off the damaged wood and began removing the rotten pieces. Mike decided what was needed and had new wood delivered to my driveway. They went about their business in a VERY professional manner, only stopping when there was something else to point out to us. Many times Jason was here by himself, but he was extremely competent and did a fabulous job. The workmanship is excellent and everything is to code or better. I couldn't be more pleased.
