Description of Work: Work was not performed. I found the company through Angie's List. I called B&D, made an appointment and Dave came out.Professional, good explanation of the job to be done. I was interested in getting a bid.I was supposed to receive a color chart which never arrived. After about two weeks of not hearing anything, I called and spoke to Dave. I mentioned I had not received a bid. He mentioned some figures, but I was expecting a formal bid. He said he was doing the paperwork and he would get it in the mail the following day. That was over a week ago and I have yet to see it. I decided to move on to get bids from other contractors. It's a shame. It seems that he get's pretty good reviews on work that he does.

Description of Work: B&D Construction Co is made up of a group of true craftsmen. I would recommend and encourage anyone needing concrete work to call Ben and Dave for their advice and make use of their expertise in concrete. Dave listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and we agreed on a price. Their bid was lower than three other companies. Dave kept me informed as to our position in his schedule and when our turn came up his crew showed up on time and were very professional in their work methods and habits. Even though the weather was very hot and humid the crew worked until the job was completed. They removed an old patio and steps, set forms and poured a new patio and steps. They even set posts in the new concrete for a fence and placed a retaining wall to re-route rain water AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! The two crew members who did the finish work on the patio and steps are true professionals. I have been around construction and concrete work most of my life and B&D Construction should be considered by anyone who is planing any type of concrete work. I would call B&D in the future for any of my concrete projects and have proudly recommended them to my neighbors and friends. Outstanding job B&D Construction!!!!!!!!!!

 + -1 moreDave and his crew arrived on time as scheduled to begin the work. They began immediately, and were polite and professional throughout the length of the job. The job was completed in the amount of time estimated by Dave, and they cleaned up the area very well. I was especially pleased that they took care to protect my and my neighbors lawn by laying plywood on the grass to move the wheelbarrows to the back yard. Dave also had a crew member replace dirt and sod around the patio so there would be no drop off. The patio is beautiful; I've received many compliments on it. When my neighbors heard what the cost was, they agreed it was a very good price. The final cost was a few hundred more then the estimate, but that was because we agreed to make the patio a few feet longer, and have him install the railing. However, Dave did not charge me for entertaining my 2 year old grandson, who stood at the patio door watching the "worker guys" for 2 hours. Thanks, Dave!
Description of Work: Removed old concrete 10' x 12' patio and wood steps from patio door. Poured new 12'x 22' patio, exposed aggregate, concrete patio; poured two 5' long, exposed aggregate, concrete steps from patio door; installed metal railing (supplied by home owner)on steps.

 + -1 moreI am planning on rehiring B and D for a future project. They were responsive and very courteous. Their bid was less than the other three I had gotten and I believe I got my money's worth. Ben and Dave provided very helpful suggestions and they started and completed the job when they said they would. They completed the work as scheduled and they cleaned up after themselves. My new patio looks great. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for professional concrete work.
Description of Work: B & D took out and re-poured a patio and sidewalk that had been installed incorrectly. They also reattached the deck steps that the previous contractor had put on wrong. They also hauled away, at no extra cost, a huge amount of concrete the previous contractor had dumped in my back yard. They even came back the following week to rearrange some large rocks around the patio.

 + -1 moreB and D returned our call quickly and gave us an estimate within a week. They completed the deck in the time they estimated, managing to navigate the multi-step, Kirkwood permit process along the way. The deck is solid and well made. We are extremely happy with their work.
Description of Work: B & D removed an existing concrete patio and stairs, built a 12' X 15' second-story deck, and built stairs to the ground level. The deck material is treated pine.

 + -1 moreQuick response to call. He stopped by the house to look over what we were doing and provided suggestions to help us and his crew. He made sure concrete truck did not pull up in driveway to avoid any potential damage to driveway, even though it meant they had to wheel the concrete up a pretty steep hill on the driveway.
Description of Work: They poured piers for deck. They arranged to have concrete truck at house and wheelbarrowed concrete to backyard to fill in holes for piers. We had strung lines where we will be setting the joists, and they set j-bolts in the concrete on our lines.

 + -1 moreDave and Ben promptly came out and gave me a bid on the project the day after I called the company. They completed the work as scheduled. The actual job took one full day. It was completed in a timely manner, about two or three weeks after I accepted their proposal. Their bid was considerably less than the other two I received. Every member of the crew was polite. I am very happy with the look of the pathway. All in all, they did a fine job at a very reasonable price. I would definitely use Band D Construction again.
Description of Work: B&D tore out and replaced the concrete walkway leading from my driveway to my front porch.
