Extremely pleasant experience. All of our questions were answered thoroughly and we were provided a ton of helpful information. We did not need to have service performed which was unexpected and great news! We were provided a quote for our future maintenance which seemed very fair and are looking forward to using them again. Eric was able to schedule us faster than any other company and was very competitive on price. He communicated with me throughout the process, arrived when he said he would, and did a great job. He will be first on our list in the future.

After submitting a quote, needed for the sale of the home, the owner came back a few days later and said he made a mistake and could not do the job. I respect the owner for acknowledging his error and admitting to it. However, I was put in a very difficult situation.

They wrote CHIMNEY UNSAFE - DO NOT USE across the receipt I needed to submit. Then they kept calling to schedule repairs. Suspicious, I found the name of the company I’d used two years ago. The chimney passed their inspection without issue.

Ashes Away was provided excellent service. They called ahead to ask if they could be early and they were. They explained everything they were going to do. The price was reasonable. Ashes Away uses a system that pulls the dust up the chimney and blows it out so there was very little noise and no dust in the house. I will use them again.

Excellent. Came on time with prior notice (text). Very conscientious about protecting floors and preventing mess. Did excellent job on chimney sweep (found much creosote previous sweeper had missed). Then did a nice job repairing missing bricks and crown at top of chimney. Applied a coating material over the crown that is supposed to last many years and was much cheaper that replacing the crown. Am very happy with the work.

The initial cleaning and inspection revealed significant deterioration and damage both in the fireplace and in the chimney. The fireplace bricks were actually loose. As a follow-up, the chimney was inspected with a camera device, and the needed repairs were obvious in the pictures. We were not pressured at all, and in fact were given options and were asked to think for a couple of days about what course of action we wanted to take. We decided to proceed with the recommended repairs. Every thing was done in a timely manner, and both the persons involved were cordial and professional.

The service was wonderful. It is a father son team and the father came out while they were working in the area. He was super nice and was full of great information. He pointed out a few issues and told me how to fix them DIY and for the work that I would need them to do quickly estimated it for me and at no time did I feel pressured to get that done right away. I was very happy with my service.

Very friendly, helpful, and communicative. The initial appointment was for a chimney sweep. After an initial check of the chimney and fireplace, Eric pointed out the lack of a mesh screen on the chimney cap and the existence of gaps where the flue met the firebox. He quoted the cost of those extra work items in a low-pressure manner. When I agreed to the extra work, he arranged an appointment for the following morning when he and his son could bring the extra equipment needed. I told him that I had a firm time that I needed to leave for a work obligation in the morning, and Eric promised to do his best to accommodate it. Eric and Josh arrived the next morning and got to work promptly. They coordinated their respective tasks to get the job done efficiently. During the chimney sweep Eric found the remains of a squirrel's nest. He also found a second gap in the firebox, which he added to the repair work at no extra cost. They completed their work almost an hour ahead of the initially-quoted completion time, saying that they wanted to respect my scheduling obligations. Both men were very friendly and pleasant to work with. I will likely hire them again in the future.

Very professional. Came out a month earlier and gave an estimate and we set up a appt a month later due to the nesting chimney swifts. They called 2 days prior to appointment to confirm. They were on time and professional. Took some pictures of my chimney to show me the recommended repairs. They were courteous and professional and did a great job. Highly recommend.

They were fine. They did a good job. My interaction with them was fine.

After he showed up and began to install, Eric realized the damper ordered was the wrong size. A rectangular damper was ordered, however a square damper was required. Just by chance they had the correct size square damper in stock at their shop. The install took another 45 min or so because his son had to drive it to our house. Also, Eric requested I pay another $20 for the correct damper. I argued, but was unsuccessful. I was not happy about this, but since I was in a pinch for time, I had to pay the extra $20. The damper was installed and seems to work properly. To rectify the issues we encountered, I have agreed to use them on the new house I am purchasing which needs a chimney cleaning and they have agreed to give me a discount. I will update my review once services are rendered on my new home.

Ashes Away performed a chimney sweep of our wood burning fire place. Eric the owner performed the sweep as expected. The issues we had was not necessary with the service performed, but how he treated my wife. He rushed my wife to hurry and write him a check because he was late to another apptinment, eventhough he was under the 1.5 hour of time he allotted for the job. As he proceeds to rush my wife to write the check, he says that he visually spotted a flue line crack near the top of the chimney and that it was unsafe to use the chimney. He was insistant that we promise not to use the chimney and that it would take addtional $1000s of dollars to repair. (tear down and rebuild) He recommended a chimscan to verify. I visually inspected the top from the top of the chimney and saw no indication of such a crack. I spoke with him regarding this and all of the sudden it wasn't such and urgent matter any longer. In would not recommend the service provider due to integrity.

Eric showed us where the bricks to the firewall were literally coming out! We could have had an avalanche of bricks!! He gave us two options: one was to rebuild the back fire wall with brick, or install a one-inch steel plate. The latter was the least expensive, so we contracted with him to replace the plate on 11/26/2014. Our neighbor's chimney did not require any cleaning, and he charged her ZERO dollars. THAT is amazing.

Eric called early Monday morning to let us know that his 9:00 appointment had just cancelled, and did we want to have the plate installed that day or instead of Wednesday? Of course, we said yes! Eric and Josh showed up, and Eric carried in this (HEAVY) piece of steel and installed it within an hour. Our fire that night was absolutely beautiful. The colors against the black back wall are so much more vibrant, and we're going to take Eric's recommendation and paint the side walls with a flat black barbeque pit spray paint. This will be SO COOL. These two are such a great team. Their friendliness, professionalism, punctuality, and all-around good work is such a pleasure to see. Eric's quirky sense of humor adds to the charm, but he realized he had met his match. It was a fun, fun morning. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

We have used this company several times in the past, and while this last service did have one hiccup, the company responded quickly to resolve the situation. I work in retail and I understand that one customer interaction does not always represent the norm.

They have done numerous jobs for us and our clients over the years. They have been cost effective with good quality work. They tend to get the work done ahead of the schedule they provide. Last year I called Eric thinking I might need them to come out to my personal home. He walked me through things and saved me a service call.

They arrived on time, worked fast and worked neatly. The job was performed at the original bid price-no surprises. As a side note, we got 3 bids and Ashes Away was the most competitive. But the main reason we contracted with Ashes Away was the thoroughness of their bid and the subsequent phone conversations explaining the whole process (in laymen's terms). We highly recommend Ashes Away; Eric and Josh were a pleasure to work with.
