Mr. Fenner has been cleaning my chimney since 2005. Last year he repaired the chimney crown so it wouldn't have to be replaced. He is prompt, very nice and never leaves a mess behind. He has not raised his prices in the last 4 years.

I've just moved into a new (to me) house in Desoto, MO. The house is eight years old and it's the first time I've had a house with a wood burning fireplace. I need to have the fireplace cleaned and inspected, so I turned to Angie's List to find a good company. When I called a few minutes ago I spoke with Eric, the company owner and told him where I lived. He told me this is out of his area but then proceeded to tell me that I could find a reputable company on the Chimney Safety Institute website and he also told me of things to be aware of and what to watch out for. He also told me that if I got an estimate that seemed high that I could call him back and we would go over the estimate line by line to see if it was in order, and also to call him back if I had any questions at all. Now, all of this was from a man who knows he won't be making a penny from me but was really going the extra mile to make sure that whatever company I contracted with could be counted on to do a safe and thorough job! I love this guy! If every company could have a clone of him "customer service" would have a whole different meaning!

We got five bids for this project. Of the five, three examined the chimney using binoculars. Two used ladders and climbed to top of chimney to examine. Of those two, Eric was not only the most polite and professional but also proposed the lowest price (incidentally, he does not charge for estimates). Showed up precisely on time at 7:00 a.m. and completed the job on time. Clean, neat work and polite, professional demeanor. I would use again and would recommend to others. If I were to need this work again I would choose Eric, even at a higher price, because he did a thorough job of examining the work beforehand, made good recommendations, and did quality work.

This is a wonderful company, I highly recommend for all your chimney needs.

They were polite, professional, required very little input from me, and repaired my chimney in the time and for the price they estimated.

The were prompt, professional and they worked very h****** a cold day to get the job done. They explained the entire procedd before they started work, and gave me regular updates of their progress, and of any trouble or issues they encountered.

He was very, very knowledgeable and told us our HVAC company had improperly installed our flu liner (it doesn't reach all the way up the chimney and moisture is leaking into our plaster) and told us what needed to be done. We now have the information to take back to our HVAC installers to negotiate with them, and have an estimate from Ashes Away, if the original contractor wants to subcontract out the work. Just to know what is causing our problem has lessened our frustration with this ongoing home maintenance issue. The owner was professional and reasonable.

He did a fantastic job and did it very quickly. Then two years ago he came out and did a full cleaning and inspection. They were in and out in about an hour and they were by far the most reasonable price for any chimney places we could find in the area.

Mr. Fenner arrived the day promised even though he had a flat tire on the way. After getting the tire repaired he came even though it was late afternoon. He set up and was done before we knew it without leaving a speck of ash in the house. This is the second time Mr. Fenner has cleaned my chimney.

He was very friendly. They were clean, no mess was left behind at all. He doesn't normally service my location, but since he was already going to be in the area, and he had an opening in his schedule, he was willing to. He called around 1:30 and let me know he was going to be approximately 15 minutes late, which was very much appreciated! He was professional and did a great job.

They did the job quickly and cleanly.

The owner himself does the work. He is very polite and his work is clean. He was helpful in explaining the things about fireplaces.

He cleaned one chimney and did a great job. They were very professional, polite, and clean. They found a venting problem in the other chimney, and he is coming back to fix that and do other chimney work. I really like this guy.

It was a pleasure to do business with Eric. He was very professional, personable and on time for the appointment. He moved furniture out of the way and covered the floor and furniture with tarps in case any dust/ashes would escape. He has been doing this for 20 years and knows what he is doing.

Eric returned my call very promptly & we set up an appointment for him to come out to sweep the chimney. He arrived right on time & the job was complete in about 30-45 minutes. As always, he did not leave any dirt at all behind. We are always very impressed with that as chimney sweeping is very messy business. This is the 2nd time my husband & I have used the services of Ashes Away.

HE CAME OUT THE SAME NIGHT AND MET ME AT MY HOUSE AFTER WORK. HE WAS WONDERFUL. HE DID NOT LEAVE ONE SPECK OF ASH OR DIRT ANYWHERE IN MY HOUSE. HE WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH AND I WOULD DEFINITELY USE HIM AGAIN.
