They did a great job grinding the stump that was left by "fly by night" person who originally cut down the tree and was supposed to grind the stump and clean up the wood chips (they never came back to do this). In October 2020 I hired Sam Rantz to remove an enormous tree stump from the front yard. He requested that I call the 1-800 DIG number prior to appointment time, which to be honest I hadn't thought of. We also discussed removal of the excessive wood shavings in advance so there would be no surprises of additional costs. Sam and one other gentleman worked hard and consistently all day. He also ground down the exposed roots. Very pleased with the outcome. I'd recommend anyone to hire Sam.

Same was quick to respond. He called me within an hour and set up an appointment for first thing in the morning. He arrived when he said he would and came prepared to do the job in case we were ready to get to work. His price was close to what I was expecting. He even did more than he said he would when it came to the roots. Sam was friendly and articulated what the process looked like well. He was happy to answer any questions. The only reason I didnâ t give him a 5 above the board is that he didnâ t grind down as far as others claimed they do. I am not sure that it matters though. I would definitely say give Sam a shot if you need work done.

The stumps are gone but the cost was high. I have lots of stumps that need removing. He removed 3 stumps and charged $225.00. Next time, I will rent a stump grinder and do it myself.
