I was hired to do a gutter cleaning on a duplex, there was a misunderstanding and i cleaned the wrong side. I cleaned [Member name] side and was supposed to do his neighbors, when doing so i turned on his hose and spicket broke...mind you it wasn't on right in the first place so anyone who turned it on...it would have broke. I didn't charge him for the cleaning bc it was my mistake and went on to clean his neighbors, [Member name] approached me afterwards and I said I would repair his faucet...he wouldn't allow me to. He said he was going to hire someone to do so and send me the bill...he has yet to do so. Im pretty sure he was hoping for some sort of cash settlement. [Member name] if you would like to send me a legit bill i would be glad to pay the company for the repair.

The provider was punctual and came on a Sunday which we appreciate. After less than 30min he knocked on my door and said he was done and asked for payment. He said it was going to be $20 more because I had not let him know we had gutter guards. I understood that and added the $20 to make the total $150, I handed him the check and he left. He encountered my husband as he as leaving the front yard area and said goodbye to him. At night time I receive a text message from the provider letting us know that he in fact had not finished the work, that some gutters had not been cleaned but that he would be back Monday or Tuesday at the latest and that he would send pictures of it. In addition, he said that we should ignore some email we were supposed to receive from his girlfriend apparently asking for payment. At this moment we were appalled by the provider because at no point in the interactions on Sunday morning did he let us know that the job was not done, however since we had already given him a check we decided to give him a chance to come back. Monday night came and we had not received any pictures from the provider. I texted him and asked him what had happened, at this moment I did mention to him that I would stop payment on the check we had given him if he was not prompt on replying. He answered and changed his commitment to possibly coming by and finishing by Friday, after this final interaction we were very upset and felt duped, and requested he did not come back to work on our house because we no longer felt we could trust him. We will never use this provider again, there was a huge lack of professionalism and all this would have been avoided if he had been upfront with us on the first day and let us know he was not done AND he should not have taken payment for a service he had not provided. For full disclosure I did try to stop payment on the check because we did not feel we should pay to such an unprofessional person, however the check had already been deposited and the payment went through.
