High & Dry Foundation Repair

Basement Waterproofing, Foundation Repair

About us

Since 2006, High & Dry has serviced thousands of St. Louis homes. We have solutions for all your basement waterproofing and foundation needs including crack injections, wall stabilizations, as well as, sump pump and drain system installation. Virtually all of our work is performed from the inside of the home, eliminating the need to dig outside disrupting the lawn, flower beds, etc… Our reputation for quality products, unparalleled customer service, and our Life-of-the Structure Warranty have made us a Leader in the concrete repair industry. High & Dry offers Free Estimates for waterproofing and foundation repair. We specialize in cost effective crack injection, wall stabilization, and interior drain systems. We inject the cracks from the inside of the home, filling the void the crack created, top to bottom, inside and out, preventing water from entering in the foundation. We can also structurally repair cracks and bowing walls using our carbon fiber products. If you have hydrostatic pressure, we can install an interior drain system using our structurally engineered Poly-Stone that replaces the traditional gravel systems and increase the flow of the water into the drain system and eliminates any biological hazards that can be associated with gravel system. We offer a “closed” drain system minimizing the risk on Radon gases. We’ll take a look at your situation and recommend the best plan to correct your problem for good.

It was wonderful. They were here when they said they would be. They did what they said they would do. They were very polite. They cleaned up after themselves. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I used them because I saw them on Angie's List. I found a small crack so I'm going to call them again.

Excellent. My original problem was the concrete floor in my lower level (Split foyer home built in 1975 without a sump pump system), had separated from the foundation walls due to hydrostatic pressure, causing severe water damage. Thank you Missouri clay soil. From the initial consultation with Tom, everything went quite well. He clearly explained my options, and costs. His recommendations to solve the problem were right on. He and his crew of five completed the repair in one day, as promised. And, I am happy to report that the installed system is working perfectly. They also used the latest and proven high tech materials. High and Dry offers a Lifetime warranty. I called Tom about a month ago (almost a year after the installation) with a minor problem that had developed with the drain pipe outside the house. No questions asked...no hassle. He immediately scheduled to come out and make the necessary changes I had requested. No additional charges to me. Too many times companies offer Guarantees and Warranties, and then, when you have a problem or concern, they look for reasons not to honor them. Not the case with High and Dry. And, I truly appreciated that. Although I hope I won't need their services in the future, I will definitely call High and Dry again if needed, and, would recommend them to my neighbors and friends as well. Very professional, and, left no mess behind. Good job!

I called High and Dry about some leaking water in our basement. They asked about where the leaks were coming from, and what type of basement I had. They immediately said that their products do not work on old stone basements, but recommended that I call Helitech, and provided a number. I appreciate that when I contact a repair company or contractor, they don't waste my time if they are not able to do the work.

Tom Ely was professional and kind. Even though we were extremely worried--convinced we'd need expensive repairs to our house foundation--he didn't take the slightest advantage of the situation. He examined our problem and investigated and found the source. After doing so, he offered free advice about ensuring that we do not have similar problems in the future and checked our gutters, downspouts, and landscaping to advise us whether those would lead to potential leaks later on. When we originally called to request an estimate, they didn't have an opening until the following week. However, the receptionist said that she'd let me know if they ended up having any surprise availability. She called back minutes later and said that they could fit us in this afternoon after an easier-than-expected job. We were so relieved to have our problem looked at promptly. We were impressed that the owner of the company was the one who came to do the estimate, since he was so clearly knowledgeable and fair. We hope to never need foundation services, but if we do, we will immediately call High & Dry.
Description of Work: Tom Ely, the owner of High & Dry Foundation Repair, came to provide an estimate. We believed we had a crack in our basement foundation that was causing our carpet to be wet. However, he diagnosed the problem as an easy fix--our condensation line of our air conditioning had become detached. He gave us advice about how to fix it, how to clean the water from the carpet, and how to avoid future issues. He did not charge us anything for the consultation even though we would have happily paid for his service.

The work went very well and this vendor fixed all the crummy work from the Crack Team and honored their warranty. Always showed up on time and when they said they would. Cleaned up afterward. Kept in excellent contact about when they would return to finish everything up. Great people to work with and couldn't be happoer with the results.

From start to finish they were a pleasure to do business with. Lady I spoke with when I called was very polite and helpful. The guy who came to do the work arrived on time, completed the work in a professional manner, and was very polite and helpful with all questions I had. On top of it all I shopped the price for this particular service and this was the best price I could find. Overall I am more than happy with High & Dry and the service they provided.

Called High and Dry and talked to Chris. I told her the problem and she explained what needed to be done to correct it and what it would cost. We set up an appointment time and date and she told me if anything earlier opened up she would call. It did, and she called and we set up a new date and time. Todd came at exactly the time she said he would, explained to me what needed to be done, how long it would take etc. Everything went smoothly and the work was completed. Todd was friendly and professional. Would not hesitate to use this company again. They were fair, competent and easy to work with. Very, very satisfied.

Both the person who came to give us an estimate and the person who actually did the repair were very professional and efficient. They were very honest about what we needed (not much) and did not try to up-sell us on any other service. Their work has a lifetime warranty so we feel very comfortable that we will not have any further problems.

Very impressed with the service. I also got estimates from foundation repair companies & they told me I needed $$$ very costly repairs to the foundation. Crack Team did a good job & also explained to me why I did NOT need $$$ costly foundation repair. The foundation repair companies were trying to rip me off! (Imagine that!) Ha, ha!) Price was reasonable, especially compared to foundation repair cost. They guarantee their work for the life of the structure & it is transferable to new owners. This was very important to me because we had this fix done due to home inspection for selling the house. The warranty gave me & the new owners peace of mind that the foundation would not be a problem in the future, at least in this area. Would definitely recommend The Crack Team Dt. Louis. Be sure to get their estimate & talk to them before you commit to expensive & extensive foundation repair.

Tom Ely responded to my phone call on Saturday after the large snowstorm and then rain. We had a broken pipe in our sump pump with early overflow problems. He returned our call on a Saturday. Then sent servicemen tohome immediately. It took two trips, pluis supplies to repair a rusty C-clamp from 20 years ago. Further testing revealed a defect in our drain pipe, which was also repaired. We had purchased the system over 20 years ago from the previous ownership. Even though Tom was a succeeding owner, there was "no charge" for all the work. Highly professional. Problem solved.

Craig from The Crack Team was able to come out the day after I called for an appointment. He was on time, courteous and knowledgeable. (Actually he was running just ahead of schedule and called to see if he could come early! This was great for me!) Upon arrival he examined the leaking foundation crack and at my request checked a few others that I was concerned with that were dry. We were right in the middle of having our basement finished when this crack that had NEVER before leaked started leaking! (I consider it good luck that it happened when it did!) Since this was the case I had him give me estimates on taking care of all of them. He had only been allotted time for the one repair for this day, but quickly scheduled a good time to come back and take care of the others. He was willing and able to work with my contractor if need be as well which would have been great if I could not have been here personally. (I was able to meet him a few days later in this case.) I had no idea how this all would work or what it would cost, but Craig kept everything tidy and the cost was more reasonable than I had first feared. (Thanks in part to Angie's List and other reviewers for helping to understand cost and process.) In the end all 4 repairs cost about $900.00 and they stand behind them if there is ever an issue. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Tom arrived on time, and did the estimate as normal. He provided estimates for epoxy-injection fix for the 2 large cracks, and also provided estimate for optional fixes with staples. He answered my questions well, and left the business card for further questions. The office also did a follow-up call later on. We decided to proceed with a different company, but I have nothing negative about the Crack Team.

My wife and I were very impressed and reassured by the owner, who personally listened to our problem. He gave an overview of the work which needed to be done and then presented an estimate. He answered all of our questions. After we considered the proposal, we called and made an appointment for the work to be done. The work has not been performed yet as we requested that it be suspended until a later date for our convenience. We did have the work done and are very, very happy with the results. The owner arrived with his crew at the agreed upon date and time. They made extensive efforts to cover all floor areas of the residence used as a passage to the work area. They were very respectful of our home and the disruption of our household order. They even offered ear protection to me due to the necessity of mechanically breaking up the concrete. The noise was not as intense as I had anticipated and did not last for as long as I thought it might. They cleaned up all debris as they proceeded. The replacement concrete was smoothed very well, and has not shown any signs of cracking even after more than a year in place. I must admit that I was a little skeptical that the problem would be resolved and that it would be a lasting solution. High and Dry Foundation Repair showed me a thing or two! I do not have any water in my basement, but I do have a dry work shop! I would definitely recommend this company.

I am very happy with this entire process. I met with Tom Ely a couple months ago do discuss my seepage problem. He confirmed that it was "hydrostatic pressure" causing the problem. He was very easy to talk to and discuss all possible solutions. I was prepared with what I thought were all the appropriate questions (thank you internet). I could tell that he was very experienced and knowledgeable. He also had new information on the most up to date materials (new types of drain tile, etc.). Tom and his crew (5 others) showed up on time, and were very courteous and professional. They used a water spray to keep the dust down while using the jack hammer. (I should add that Tom was very clear on what I needed to do for preparation work) All of which I was able and glad to do to save money. As the work progressed, Tom kept me informed of each step of the process. Everything went well, and, when they were done, they did a good job of cleaning up, as well as getting the lawn back in shape over the drainage line outside. Along the way, as I had questions, Tom and his crew were very good at answering my questions. I was also glad he had a large crew with him, as they were able to complete the job in one day. This certainly helps me get my rec room back to normal as soon as possible. I also liked the "Lifetime Transferable Warranty". That will certainly help if/when i decide to sell. I hope I never have water problems again, but, if I do, I will definitely call "The Crack Team St Louis".
Description of Work: Removed approximately 10 inches of basement floor along 2 adjoining walls (and around a fireplace). Installed a battery back-up sump pump system in the adjoining corner. Installed a drain tile system along the walls to the sump pump, and poured new concrete. Installed approximately 60 feet of drainage to a pop-up valve outside.

It went great ! We had a slight leak in the spring of 2012 and called them out the check. The estimator took a look and recommended some drainage changes he felt would resolve. Did not recommend any service and did not charge for the visit or advice. So when we had a more severe water problem this spring we called them. They were very busy with the damp spring weather this year in St Louis but worked us in quickly. I removed the wallboard where we believed the issue was and found a large foundation. The estimator came out did a review and gave us an estimate for the repair. We had checked with others and chose to proceed with the Crack Team. They came out the following week. The technician was right on time and very professional. He installed straps (optional service we chose) and then sealed the crack. The whole process only took about 30-45 minutes. We have left the wall open to ensure the issue is resolved and after several heavy rains we are convinced it is fixed ! We were very happy with the service and resolution. But it was the free visit and advice last year that will make us recommend them and use them again if needed. A very positive experience.

Tom told me that if it was not a water pipe leak, I would need a sump pump which would cost several thousand dollars. I called Missouri American Water and discovered to my joy that it WAS a water pipe leak which they will repair at no cost (seems my water bills include $1 a month insurance against just such an eventuality). Tom was knowledgeable, polite, and enormously helpful. (He even suggested I get a splash tray for an outside hose that pulls water away from the drainpipe -- and fixed a spot where two pieces of hose had gotten detached!) A less scrupulous person might have tried to sell me waterproofing that would not have worked. I will surely use The Crack Team for any leaks that might occur in the future.
Description of Work: I have a basement leak that has been flowing for about a month. Tom Ely came out, was somewhat baffled, and suggested I call Missouri American to see if there was a water pipe leak. (Actually, he arrived a little before the scheduled time and waited for me to come home.)

When I called the Crack Team and told them about my basement leak, they told me I needed someone to remove the drywall so they would know exactly where the leak was. They gave me the name of someone to do the work who came out on 7/10 and removed the drywall and found a hairline crack in the concrete. A week later the Crack Team came out and fixed the crack. They were extremely professional, arrived at the scheduled time, told me what they would do and gave me estimated length of time to complete. The work was completed on time. I have used the Crack Team before (in 2005) and in both instances they have been outstandingly professional, done an excellent job and the cost was reasonable.

Excellent client service. I had an estimate for the work needing to be completed within a couple days. We did have to wait 10 days to have the repair work completed, but they came right on schedule. Given the time of year, and the many problems people are having this spring, we did not feel this was unreasonable. The technician was on time, very nice and professional, and explained exactly what he needed to do. He cleaned up when finished and was done right on schedule. We then had a new area start leaking around the corner from where the repair was completed. The Crack Team had a technician come the same day I called, and fixed the additional crack immediately. I will undoubtedly recommend The Crack Team for this type of repair. Everyone was awesome to work with, and made a terrible situation at our home much easier to handle.
