High & Dry Foundation Repair

Basement Waterproofing, Foundation Repair

About us

Since 2006, High & Dry has serviced thousands of St. Louis homes. We have solutions for all your basement waterproofing and foundation needs including crack injections, wall stabilizations, as well as, sump pump and drain system installation. Virtually all of our work is performed from the inside of the home, eliminating the need to dig outside disrupting the lawn, flower beds, etc… Our reputation for quality products, unparalleled customer service, and our Life-of-the Structure Warranty have made us a Leader in the concrete repair industry. High & Dry offers Free Estimates for waterproofing and foundation repair. We specialize in cost effective crack injection, wall stabilization, and interior drain systems. We inject the cracks from the inside of the home, filling the void the crack created, top to bottom, inside and out, preventing water from entering in the foundation. We can also structurally repair cracks and bowing walls using our carbon fiber products. If you have hydrostatic pressure, we can install an interior drain system using our structurally engineered Poly-Stone that replaces the traditional gravel systems and increase the flow of the water into the drain system and eliminates any biological hazards that can be associated with gravel system. We offer a “closed” drain system minimizing the risk on Radon gases. We’ll take a look at your situation and recommend the best plan to correct your problem for good.

I set up time for them to come out and give me an estimate. They arrived on time and the estimate did not take long. I then called back and set up a time for them to repair the crack. They showed up on time and did the repair. After another heavy rain it still leaked at the bottom so I called and set up another time for them to come out and was put on a list to be contacted if there was an earlier time available (very short notice). They called with an earlier time and the crack was repaired.
Description of Work: They repaired a six foot crack that was sealed by the builder of the house in 1996. I went for the option of the staples to prevent any movement in the walls due to drought and such. I believe it was worth the amount paid.

The overall experience was great. He arrived did an excellent job and told me to give him a call when we ready to move forward with whatever work had to be performed. He even looked at other parts of the basement to see any other potential problems. Never put any pressure on me to go get any work done right away and was truly professional.
Description of Work: Had a leak in my basement every time it rains hard and could the Crack Team out for a free estimate. The appointment was scheduled for 3:00 pm, but because he was in the area he called and asked to come earlier which was excellent. And took his time to give an excellent and informative evaluation of the problem area.

Crack team got the job done! They were the second company to come out here (Foundation Doctor lacked follow-through) but they will be our first call if we need such work done again in the future. We had an ugly leaking crack running from the corner of one of the basement windows all the way to the floor. Sadly, the previous repair failed and we wound up with a wet basement. The Crack Team fixed the crack using a urethane injection process and added carbon-fiber "staples" in order to stabilize the repair against future movement. Our basement is finally dry!

This leak had been a nagging problem for years. Every time there was a heavy rain water seeped in and if it was an extended rain, water would pool on the basement floor. Had contracted with another company a couple of years ago to resolve but all they did was apply some compound around where the water line entered the basement. This did not solve the problem as the seepage started again with the next heavy rain. Fortunately this was in an unfinished portion of the basement. However I was tired of putting towels down whenever it rained and although fearing the cost, began reviewing companies on Angie's List. I liked what I read about The Crack Team and hoped it would be an inexpensive repair. I emailed them a picture of the problem and within an hour I received a call. They explained this was a common problem and could be easily fixed, so I contracted with them. They came out and injected their compound on 2/6/13. We've had a number of hard rains since and I've had no more seepage. They also provided a limited warranty for the life of the house and honored the $50 coupon I had printed. Truly a relatively inexpensive solution to a nagging problem.

I had a large crack in my basement wall that would POUR out water during most heavy rains. I dreaded going down into my basement and mopping up mess after mess. I dealt with the problem for 5 years thinking I was facing an expensive repair. I had a friend recommend the Crack Team and I decided to get an estimate (why not?! It was free). I am SO GLAD I did. I could not believe the price... and then I couldn't believe that my water problem could be SOLVED with this easy, inexpensive fix. The guy who came to do my estimate explained the process in detail. He also explained possible complications and how they could affect the warranty. He answered all my questions and made me very excited to get the work done! The guy who came out to do the work was professional, curteous, and very knowledgeable. He reminded me that the putty leaves a strong odor and to open some windows if I could. He finished in a very timely manner and cleaned up thoroughly. The smell did not last nearly as long as they warned me... I didn't even notice it by the next day. It's been 6 months now and I have not seen ONE drop of water. If I had know about the Crack Team and their wonderful magic powers, I would have called them LONG AGO!!

Crackteam gave us no drama, frequent communication, friendly staff, and responsive service. I highly recommend working with this company. They stitched my basement right up.
Description of Work: After a long process of consulting with several different foundation companies, we contacted a structural engineer who steered us toward two companies that offered the services we needed. We contacted the Crackteam and from that point we received frequent communication focused on the desire to offer us best service. I never had to call them because they anticipated my need. The staff came out an repaired our crack in a timely manner and left the site clean. When I found an area in question they schedule to immediately come out and addressed an area that we overlooked. Each person we interacted with demonstrated a calm, clear, professional knowledge and confidence. By far, the best company I have worked with over the past 6 months.

They came out to give us a bid; we hired them; they set a date, arrived on time and accomplished the work in the estimated time. We have had no water in the basement during rains since they did the work. We were extremely impressed with their professionalism and the quality of their work.

I had already identified the location of a crack and leak in my basement wall and torn back the dry wall - so I just needed someone to epoxy it at a low cost. I had received bids from some other firms around $300, but had found them to be unreliable with getting back to me. I called The Crack Team and they came out within a few days and were able to do the work the next day. The guy said it was the slower season, so they might not always be that fast - but they showed up for both the estimate and work when they said they were going to and did neat and professional work.

The crack team representative was on time and easy to talk with, but he really only focused on the 1 corner of the foundation. He did look at the remaining foundation and inspected the outside of the property, but spent very little time compared to other estimates. His ultimate bid was a drain that only covered 30% of the walls. What I found limiting was the "concrete specialist" (self stated many times) seemed to focus on the big picture, but missed many small issues such as minor foundation cracks and made no comment on waterproofing with regards to the grade of the property or recommending window wells to keep water away from that part of the foundation. The business I ultimately selected I felt provided a much better evaluation in identifying other structural issues that could cause problems with regards to the leaking and in general. When comparing the cost of the additional work it seemed to be of equivalent of better value than the Crack Team.
Description of Work: I have a 60 year old single level with unfinished basement. There is a significant amount of running water that comes from one corner of the basement that sits adjacent a 10% grade on the side property. With every rain minor or major the primary problem corner has lots of running water. About 10% of the time the other 3 walls will have minor water seapage. I inquired about drainage system and sump pump and any other waterproofing options.

I found them on Angie's List. They came within a day of my call for an estimate -- came in the evening to fit my schedule. Very knowledgeable and explained the nature of the problem and options for repairs. Gave estimate and scheduled repairs on the spot, with confirmation from the office the next morning. Asked that I clear a little space for the guy to work along the wall. He came as scheduled and completed the work in just a few hours, cleaned up nicely, no mess. Repair looks great.

Repaired numerous cracks on two basement walls. Returned twice to fix some difficult areas. Work has held up ever since thru heavy rains. We had them back three times this year to repair cracks in other areas. Company gave good estimates, honored coupons, and were flexible on followup business. They were willing to include a couple extra feet with no hassle when crack was longer than thought. No subsequent problems.

Very pleased with promptness, knowledge, honesty and willingness to assess the situation in spite of the very low likelihood that his company would be getting the job.

The repair done by them seems to be working well. Their pricing is a little high for what they do. I spoke to some people after calling The Crack Team in and I probably could have got the job done for less than a $1000. They did a good job. They did have to come back and redo one of the cracks since it wasn?t done correctly and they did that promptly. I would consider using their services again but I would get competitive bids before using their services the next time.

We had gotten an estimate from another contractor for nearly $3000, with no mention of the things to try to fix it first. We did the $20 fix and haven't had a leak since even in a heavy rain. I am still waiting for something really heavy to see if we need to have the Crack Team come and do their $700 fix. I am so pleased with them I have recommended them to everyone I know (which is how I originally heard about them as well- someone I knew loved them too).
Description of Work: Jessi came out to do an estimate on a leak in our basement from some concrete stairs that leak into the basement, he informed us that he could fix the problem, but suggested we try a $20 fix that he showed us first to see if that fixed the issue. He then gave us a quote for what they would charge to fix it if the first thing didn't work. His estimate was $700.

I called in for a problem with a finished basement and the phone operator said I would have to remove my own dry wall before they would come out. I explained I wasn't an expert and was not comfortable removing drywall with out direction or a clear sense of where the crack was. I would have liked to have had someone come and help direct me. She told me there was nothing she could do. I think that is bad customer service. I would never use them.

Response from High & Dry Foundation Repair
We apologize for any misunderstanding. There are usually three ways water can enter a basement: over the top of the foundation, through a crack in the wall, or where the wall/floor meet. To correctly diagnose the problem, we need to see the exposed concrete wall and floor area. We try to encourage customers to expose an area for us to determine the exact source. We understand some homeowners are reluctant or unsure of what to do. In those cases, we are happy to come out and provide a “sight unseen” estimate. Again, we apologize for any miscommunication. If you are still interested in an estimate, please call the office and ask for Tom.

Outstanding experience start to finish. Crew of two arrived promptly, explained the process, completed the job, and left the work area in good order. Took the initiative to reduce the quoted price when they found that once the plaster was removed, two suspect areas were not cracks and would not need repair. Crew was friendly and professional. Has not rained since the work was done, so no field test yet.
Description of Work: Repaired several long horizontal and vertical cracks in three below-ground, poured concrete basement walls of 85-year old house. Project involved removing plaster skim coat in some areas, cleaning and scraping the cracks, pumping in sealant, and final clean-up. There is a mild chemical odor during and following the process (lasts abt 2-3 days) that it is very similar to the chemical odor of a hair salon permanent. Not supposed to be harmful to people or pets.
