We hired Aim to Amaze to remove a deteriorating concrete patio and replace it with a new colored and stamped concrete patio. On the day of pouring, they ran out of concrete, so the truck had to leave to retrieve more to finish the job. The crew added 2x4’s to stabilize the concrete that was just laid and waited for the truck to return. Also, as previously agreed upon, they did not include a gravel base and they did not use an additional 2” pour under the hot tub. Days later we noticed a difference in coloring and texture all over the patio, and a 12-foot ridge with a crack down the middle where they had placed the 2x4’s. Seeing the obvious defects, the owner called a colleague, a surface specialist, to look at the area. The specialist suggested to cut another joint where the defect was and seal it. He also said that he would fix the uneven coloring and stamping throughout the whole area. We decided to get another opinion from a concrete specialist we knew. When we gave the owner the alternate suggestion, he said he could not do it. He said he would try and find someone else to get suggestions on how to fix it but could not find anyone. At this point he said he would forgive the balance owed ($4,750) if I would agree to work through his colleague and pay him directly rather than Aim to Amaze. After much back and forth with the owner we went ahead and turned back to his colleague and asked him if he would come by and talk to us, but he said he no longer wanted to be involved considering the conflict we were in with Aim to Amaze. So months later, we are right back to where we started but with $4,750 less in our pocket.

The initial visit by the site planner was July 5, 2022. The company sent several e-mails asking for full payment, but would not submit a defined diagram of the work to be done. The initial work plan was also incorrect and had to be re-planned. Numerous phone calls and emails were made to the company requesting a sketch, diagram, and outline of the work that was to be done. Aim To Amaze failed to submit the plot sketch / diagram, the required documents for the HOA, or follow-up on any of my phone calls or emails. Promised phone calls were not returned and staff failed to call to cancel the appointments. A confirmed appointment was made for Oct. 14. The company even failed to arrive or call to cancel this appointment. Additional calls were made and the after reaching the office manager, he decided to cancel the contract.

4-5 foot stumps were left for the 2 trees that were cut down. Stumps of this size are unacceptable. 3 of the trees/shrubs to be trimmed were not trimmed to the property line as stated in the contract. Workers were unprofessional and rude. I asked that they not vape on my property and they ignored my request.

[Member Name Removed], When signing your contract you failed to inform us that you were cutting the neighboring trees while in dispute with your neighbor. That immediately caused a hostile environment for our crew, to which you were oblivious and careless. Regarding the trees that were dropped behind the wall of your home, in the creek area, it was necessary to cut it at that level to prevent any damage to the wall, we explained that to you. Rating our pricing as a C seems inaccurate as you agreed to the price, rating our punctuality a C seems equally unfair as we informed you of a 4-6 week timeline when we received your signed contract on 9/11/2020 and work was actually performed 10/23&10/24 2020 just shy of 6 weeks later. We acknowledged that the stump could have been cut a little lower, even though it is below the wall, in a creek area and our agreement including cutting the tree down without any specifications on stump height (for this exact reason). We even offered to come back out and cut it lower but you asked for additional services free of charge that were not included in the contract and would cause further conflict with the neighbor. We made every effort to find a compromise and it is unfortunate that we were not able to.

The work was fantastic, Kenny and Rick did a beautiful job of cutting down and removing the two trees and all the debris and then Rick ground the stumps and filled in the holes. Sadly it was one of the hottest recent days but they completed the work in a timely manner. The transformation to our yard is amazing, the price was great as was their responsiveness. We would definitely hire them again.

All went well. It was a massive tree, but the employees took their time and did a great job. There were a few mishaps, which, of course, is going to happen when you have a small area to take down a massive tree, but Aim To Amaze stepped up and fixed everything to our satisfaction. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good tree service company.

Aim to Amaze was not only quick to respond to my phone call (about 5 mins), but also was on the scene w/ in a few hours. Tree was being held up by a 3 ft retaining wall, so it was a bit precarious, but they removed it quickly with no damage to the neighbors garage which was under the tree at that point. Price seemed steep to me, but we need to get it done quickly.
Description of Work: A tree blew part way over our neighbors garage. Retaining wall stopped it short of crushing their garage. Called Tree service and they were there a few hours later removing the tree. Very nice and quick removal.

During the installation, I had expressed concern with the fact that they were only burying the pipes 3-4" under the ground. They assured me "that was the way they always did it". ... However, over the course of the next day we had 5 inches of rain and the pipes were then sitting on top of the ground. ... When I told the owner, Freak Jerca, that he needed to comeback and either cover the pipes with a few inches of dirt, or take them up and dig the trenches deeper., his response was to send me an invoice for the job and tell me that if I didn't pay it, he would put a lien on my property. ... Because I didn't want a lien on my property, I went ahead and paid him. I wrote a note on the invoice that he needed to come back and fix the issues with the job. He then said he wasn't going to cash my check and that he was going to "turn my complaint over to his Lawyer". ... I then looked Mr. Jerca up on CaseNet. I wish I had though to do that BEFORE I hired him!

I would like to clarify that the 10” digging depth is industry standard for corrugated pipe. We use PVC pipe, which has many advantages over the corrugated. It does not need to be placed at the depth of the corrugated to be effective, it is stronger, more efficient and more durable. Our owner Frank and several crew supervisors have years of experience in drainage and erosion control. The day after installing the pipe we received 5.5 inches of rain. With the massive amount of rain, the day after installation it did not allow time for the seed to germinate. This is what caused the pipes to wash out at the end not that the job was originally done incorrectly. We will send an experienced crew member back out to the property with soil to cover the end of the pipes. We recommend also sodding the area to prevent any future erosion, although we would not furnish nor install the sod. We are very interested in coming to an amicable agreement regarding this work.

The crew arrived late, traffic I suspect. Saws were dull so work stopped while one guy sharpened them. It would be nice to have spares so the junior man could change chain while cutting continued. The trailer wasn't large enough to contain logs so two men left for quite a while to unload it. When I cut up the last tree they felled but didn't have time to finish, I rented a dump trailer to haul it to the composting site. One guy 30 seconds and the trailer was empty, they should get that trailer. I called to ask about an extra charge for the fourth man ( the A.L. deal was three men for a day) the salesman, Jerca yes it's his name, was less than pleasant to deal with. He wasn't aware that I removed the last tree and offered to split the extra. I paid his price in full and have never heard from him since. I have would not hire them again.

When I sought bids, their's was the lowest--applied a 5% AL discount--and they also sent a copy of their insurance coverage. No other firm did that! It was easy to schedule the service date; the office was prompt to reply to calls and emails. On the appointed day, the crew arrived a little ahead of schedule and got right on it. They worked well as a team, always trying to keep my (and my neighbor's) yard free of debris. They were friendly and professional and did a reasonably good job of cleaning up all twigs and shavings.
