MEYER HEATING & AC

They told us that we had carbon monoxide in our house and needed a new furnace and AC. That they should shut down our unit but they don’t want us to be cold. We decided to have the fire department come out and they said we had a level of 0 and Meyer was trying to scam us.

They showed up on time and were very professional but it turned out to be more of a sales call than a A/C tune up call. After an initial diagnosis of one of my A/C units, the technician said my A/C unit was not good and I should rather replace it with a new Trane unit and to keep it running for a "few days" he could add some refrigerant for $330 and then offered to top of both my A/C units for the same price of $330. I was still not sure so I declined the offer and took their quote for replacing one HVAC unit for $13,000. I called another reputed company with over 100 A ratings on Angies list for a second opinion, they came and suggested that both A/C units were actually running all OK and if I was concerned about it not cooling as much they can top it off with some refrigerant, which they did, and no more than 3/4th of a pound of refrigerant was needed, which costed me $70. Its been over a month and the A/C unit is running all good, no issues at all.
