This is the best experience my husband and I have ever had with a home improvement contractor and we have worked with many over the years. Darien was personable, punctual and professional. He gave us good advice about how to get what we wanted at a reasonable price. His employees were polite and good workers. Things were done well and on time. The only delay we had was when some materials that were ordered didn't come the day they were supposed to. We would recommend 4D Decks to anyone who wants quality work at a fair price. Darien specializes in decks and he really knows what he's doing! Update on 9/2/2014: Problems with Inspection It turns out that the city inspector didn't pass the way Darien attached our pergola to our house and has required that Darien make the pergola free-standing before he will allow the construction to pass inspection. Darien has assured us that he will do this without cost to us, but it hasn't taken place as yet. We remain hopeful that it will be resolved soon, before winter weather sets in.

I can not use the phone and my wife has a job where it is difficult to make personal calls so we tried to rely on his e-mail contact page. He was very slow to respond to this. His cost may be a little high compared to others but this is all they do and the owner and crew were here for full 8 hour days. As far as I could tell they worked this job only until done. I especially liked that they removed all excess or junk material at the end of each day, including the entire old deck the first day. There was minimal noise and disruption. The estimate of the time was three days. The job took 3-1/2 days due to several hours of hard rain one day. I would recommend this company.

We had three companies come out to bid our project, all with the request that we didn't want or need anything super fancy. We couldn't afford to spend a ton of money on our house in our current neighborhood because we would never get it back in a sale. We just wanted something that didn't squish, sink, rattle, squeak, or fall off; namely, we didn't need the best wood or composite materials. We would be perfectly happy with simply a replacement. Darien was the only one of the three who really took into consideration the fact that we just needed a replacement porch, not a top of the line product. He understood our budget limits and our timeline and gave us what we wanted. In fact, he gave us even more than just a replacement, and for about 1/3 of what the other companies quoted us. The final product exceeded our expectations and matched perfectly with the house and neighborhood. And I will say we were somewhat worried because he had to work with 90 year old concrete pillars that we didn't want ripped out to preserve the look of the home. We didn't know how he was going to do it because the process required creative thinking, skilled hands, and wasn't just laying down a deck. It was interesting watching the crew work and find solutions to incorporating these huge pillars into the plan and repairing them when they would crumble somewhat. We scheduled the porch to be replaced in September, which gave him about 3 months to plan. September came and he wasn't quite ready. In fact, we were delayed about 3 weeks and we were irritated a bit. We had a baby due in about a month and we wanted it done before she came. But, once they started and then finished we couldn't complain. Not only did he and his crew create a gorgeous porch for our 93 year old house, but they did it with respect and consideration for our home and family of 5, worked 10 hour days, and even after they said they were done and I still had some minor concerns they came back and worked another half day just to appease me. They went above and beyond to fulfill our expectations and special requests and we are excited to enjoy a sturdy, and beautiful porch!

Darien was very professional throughout the entire project. He gave me several options before I decided on the final plan. He gave me a time frame and he delivered what he promised. We had some sprinkler issue with the subcontractor who poured the new patio that took several attempts to repair, and we had some extensive reseeding to do after a new line was installed to remedy the situation. We are still waiting for the sprinkler company to deliver the final bill. Other than that, the project went off as planned and it looks great. I would recommend Darien and would certainly hire him for future projects

Overall the deck turned out nice and we really like it - good compliments from the neighbors. This contractor was prompt to provide us an estimate and knows what he is doing when it comes to building. Some of his employees were inexperienced and there were a few items that we had to call back on as a result but in the end they were all taken care of as we requested. The biggest frustration was the amount of time this took and our need to initiate communication to find out what was going on. We were told they would come on Monday and tear off the old deck, back Tuesday for footings and by Thursday start building the new deck and be done in a couple of days or so. We were told delays were as a result of employees not showing up for work and we witnessed new inexperienced employees being left alone on the jobsite. Start to finish it took over 3 weeks to get this job completely done- much of the time we felt our job was clearly not the priority leaving us with our driveway blocked with lumber and no way to the backyard from inside the house once the old deck was torn off due to the height involved/need for stairs for over a week. Had it been done as initially indicated prior to the work starting, the entire project should have been done in a week-- tops. There were a few things we wish would have gone differently with the customer service side of things, but in the end we have a nice deck which is the most important thing. If not for the delays I would give a higher score.

Darian was very personable and professional. He came out to our house a couple of times to go over our plans and show us options and materials for the project. His price was very reasonable, and he did work with us to keep costs under control. We had a big party planned for the 4th of July, and Darien assured us the work would be done in time for the party. There were a couple of days i expected them to show up a little earlier, but they were working on other jobs. Despite my concern that the job might not be completed in time, Darien and his crew stayed late to get everything done to my husband's and my satisfaction before the party! The deck is absolutely beautiful, and we love spending time out there now. Our friends and neighbors can't stop complimenting us on how nice it looks. One neighbor was so impressed, she asked me for their contact info to get a bid on her covered porch. I've had problems with various contractors in the past, but I would definitely recommend 4D Decks to any of my friends and family. In fact, I've already recommended them to a good friend of ours who is looking to do a similar project.

Darien Miskin, the owner of 4D Decks replied to my e-mail sent through Angie's List and scheduled a time to stop by. He arrived when expected, was very professional and helpful in explaining how he would construct the deck, and had his bid to us in 2 days. We called several days later to ask some questions and he volunteered to come back over and bring a sample of the railing system for us to see. They had a few open days in their schedule as they were waiting on other jobs due to rain delays, so were able to start the following day. We found the craftmenship of their work to be outstanding. They were very helpful, friendly and professional at all times. At the end of the day, all tools and mess were totally cleaned up. We were slightly disappointed in the width of one set of steps as it did not match our expectations based on our conversation with Darien. When told, he came back to our house prompltly and said, it was not done as he had wanted and he would send his crew back to re-do them. They arrived exactly as he said and fixed it 100%. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. We have already recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Darien was prompt and courteous when he surveyed the work to be performed. The price quote was delivered promptly and was very competitive compared to other deck bids. After acceptance, the construction started within a couple of weeks. They tore down the deck on a Thursday, and completely rebuilt it on a Friday. The deck turned out great. All the construction material was removed. I would definitely recommend 4D Decks.

I called 5 different deck construction company's. I had to leave a message for all 5, and left the same message to each one , briefly describing a large wrap around deck. The only one that responded was 4-D Decks. Darian came to us a few days later. He was very professional providing us with excellent explanations of the various materials we could use. He was very knowledgable of each product. He worked with us on getting the best measurements to serve our needs. I believe it was 2-3 weeks later that they began construction. They were very specific with the pilings. All of them had the adequate depth and diameter as noted by the building inspector. I believe there were 4 to 5 workers that arrived including Darian. They worked steadily and hard. This was a very hot time that they were working, but were safely able to continue working. They did miss 1 day due the heat. We totally understood. Darian worked solo a couple of days due to needing his men on another job. He worked hard and diligently in the heat. Due to either rain, heat or unexpected interruptions the deck was completed in approx 3 weeks. All of t workers were very proffessional, polite and thoughtful of us and our property. The entire experience was excellent.

We found 4D decks on Angie's list and contact the company via email. Darien came and met with us and provided with a written quote, via email within a short timeframe. The quote was above our budget amount so Darien made some recommended changes that would fit within our budget. We were pleased with the changes and accepted the bid. 4D Decks coordinated with another contractor, who we hired to pour concrete under the new deck. Coordination of the efforts were transparent to us and the result was wonderful. We did not have a specific timeline or sense of urgency. Once the deck installation began it was only a few weeks (not every day) before it was completed. We are extremely pleased with the result of our new deck and have recommended 4D decks to others.

The work was completed as promised (with only a few slight delays). The workmanship and design were outstanding. We contacted them for a few minor adjustments after the project was completed. The response was outstanding and everything was completed to our satisfaction.

The whole experience went very well. We appreciated the level of professionalism that was exhibited throughout the whole process.

I was very pleased. I carefully considered what material I wanted to build my deck out of and solicited 4 different bids and 4D Decks stood out. I was leaning toward composite material and 4D's experience with all the major brands was a big plus for me and the owner was able to work with me to identify the best material for my budget and what I wanted. The bid price was very competitive and fair for TimberTech deck material. The work commenced on the approximate date the owner indicated it would and the crew at my house was courteous and professional. The final product fully met my expectations and I'm thrilled with it. The owner was available for questions throughout the process and was very easy to work with. 4D is a up and coming decking company that does great work in my opinon.
