I called to schedule a time for them to come out and give a quote. This was done fairly promptly. Estimate was a little high. Some negotiating and price came down closer to my budget (still a little over). Talked about repairs that needed to be done and color of paint that would need to be used. Scheduled work. Work was done in a reasonable amount of time. Please with overall look/color of fence. Issue with gate lock/latch. Some parts of fence that were repaired didn't used same style of wood so that was disappointing. Average/Good rating overall.

The guys who came to do the work were punctual and did an absolutely beautiful job. They took plenty of time making sure that the furniture was covered and everything taped off. They sealed a few spots that were discolored due to old water damage and then painted. They got all the work in the great room done in one day and only had to return the second day to allow time for the sealer to dry in the loft before painting, which was no problem. I was delighted with the end result -- made a huge difference in the appearance of the rooms. My issue with the job relates to the scheduling. I signed up for Angie's List "Big Deal" in March of 2012. I allowed a couple of months to pass before I contacted Turner and was still told that it would be several weeks. (Note that the owner, Ken Turner answered his phone each time I called with "hello" -- so had to verify I had reached the right place each time -- not professional.) I waited until late June and called again. Ken came out to look at job and provided a quote for the work to be done (work was in excess of the amount included in the "Big Deal"). He said they could do it in mid-July. Mid-July came and went and work was not done, no call from Ken. Since I was preparing for out-of-town company, I didn't get around to calling him either. I called again in August and was told his painter had injured hand and it put them behind. I told Ken I thought I had been entirely patient enough and wanted work done by end of September. He obliged me and the work was completed as promised this time.

Mr Turner came to our home, gave us a detailed estimate, was very professional, prompt and friendly, he was booked already and we were in a hurry, so we did not use him. I don't think we will be needing any other services in the future, but if we do we will certainly call him for a bid.

Joe's painting company is a pleasure to have do painting. He is professional, reliable and and does a great job!

The service was fine, punctuality and responsiveness, its just the actual job was kind of what I paid for I guess. It didn't cost a ton but it wasn't super quality either. I don't know if that's because they ran out of time or what but it could probably use another coat of paint lol.

I bought Ken's $399.00 for 6 hours of exterior painting special. Ken was quick to respond when I called him for an estimate. He is very knowledgeable (formerly a carpenter). He spotted wood rot high on my house that I could not see from the ground and also that was hidden by shrubs. So I contracted with him to repair the wood rot. Also, I paid for additional time for his crew to thoroughly caulk the wood trim pieces (it's a country-French styled house). Ken's crew arrived exactly on time and were very polite. Ken also visited to supervise. And unexpected rainstorm interrupted their work. Ken was very responsive, and rearranged his schedule so they could finish the job instead of moving on to another planned project and coming back later to finish my house. They did a great job of prepping and painting -- my house looks terrific! I will definitely hire Ken again, and recommend him without reservation.

I bought a coupon for $399 for exterior painting for a day. Somewhere the small print said this was 6 man hours; I didn't see this. 2 men painted for 3 hours and completed only about 1/4 of the porch and said they were done. The owner was responsive when I called to complain. I paid another $150 for more time (I can't remember how much--not more than 3 hours). They left with the porch only about a1/3 of the way done.

The work was excellent. They took their time. They were here for about 2 1/2 weeks & did a very thorough job. The workers were courteous & professional.

I bought the Angie's List Big Deal for $199 for one day of interior painting. Contacted Ken and he came out and looked at the room and left us a paint book to pick our color. We picked a color and scheduled the job. He arrived on time with his assistant. The applied two coats and it looks great. No issue with cleanup.

Ken Turner and his crew were very nice and punctual. They did a good job with staining our deck. A couple minor edges missed, but overall good job. My dissatisfaction lies in the cost. I had purchased 2 Angies List coupons. 1 for Exterior Painting $399 for $800 worth of work and 1 for Interior Painting $199 for $400 worth of work. Ken never provided me a solid estimate for the job. Plus, I purchased the coupons prior to getting an estimate from Ken thinking the $800 coupon would surely cover the job, but it didn't. Power wash was not included in the job. We didn't have the time to do it, so Ken's men did it for $200. We had to purchase the stain for $250. When we found out the job would be more than what the exterior coupon was worth, Ken let me apply the interior coupon, which I was hoping to use for painting my kids rooms. So for a total of $1,650 our deck was stained. We also had to provide and place the plastic drop cloth under the deck. We have a large deck, but I never would have imagined it would cost that much. Total man hours came to approximately 10. I highly recommend Angie's List members make sure they get estimates for work PRIOR to purchasing Deals!! I also requested an invoice for work completed for our records several times from Ken and never received anything in writing. In addition, this is the second company I heard mention that they had to pay a 30% fee to Angies List for coupon Deals!

Hope to use Turner Painting in the future

The painter had trouble finding our house, but that is the only negative of the entire experience. We loved the painter and will have him back to take on other projects. The quality of the paint job delivered was A++. He was friendly, a very hard worker and barely took any breaks. Our project required a lot of hand painting around wood work. We did required 2.5 hours of additional time beyond the coupon. He stayed as late as needed on a Friday night to complete the job. This was the best paint contract experience we have had thus far.

Ken Turner from Turner Painting Co. came to my house and confirmed what painting was required. He gave good advice on selection of paint. He then came back on the agreed date to complete the work. Although he was delayed due to employee sickness he called me in advance to let me know. Ken was very professional from start to finish. He worked for the full 6 hours and allowed additional time for the repair to my drywall to dry out as it was a very humid day. He was a friendly and trustworthy contractor. The quality of the painting was good but he did miss a few spots on the second coat. Overall he gave an excellent value for the price I paid and I was pleased with the completed job.

They did an excellent job and the painting was very well done.We were extremely pleased and the painters worked very hard and were very polite. I would definitely use them again. I found Mr. Turner to be responsive and easy to work with.

They were prompt and did a wonderful job. I particularly liked how careful and thorough Mike Turner was in understanding and estimating the job. It was not a changeling piece of work. It was a simple painting, but the service made a difference. I thought he was great and I am going to use him again. I am about to call him to come out for an estimate. I just thought he was terrific.

Mr. turner cancelled our first appt the night before he was supposed to come. It took another week for him to finally fit me in. We had agreed on one painter for 6 hours. He sent 2 painters for only 3 hours. I wanted 1 painter for 6 hrs so that my kitchen and a small bedroom could be painted. He agrued w/me on the phone and needless to say it took 2 painters 6 hrs to paint a regular size room kitchen. The painters did a good job. Mr. Turner did not keep his word.

Completed all work on time and we were very satisfied.

We are extremely pleased! My folks recently bought a "fixer-upper" as a second home in response to an unplanned situation in which they would have had a daily commute from two hours away for the next 4-5 yrs. The house needs a lot of TLC and, while we consider ourselves roll-up-the-sleeves and diy-types, the pace of making this house presentable and liveable has worn us all down. So, when I saw the Angie's List deal for the six hours of interior painting, I jumped on it...the foyer with it's high walls and ceilings was getting nowhere fast, not to mention the skimmed walls and patched drywall areas. I called Ken to set up an appt. to have him come and take a look at the house to see how far we could stretch our six hours...he responded immediately, he arrived at the time agreed upon and he gave my father instructions on things we could do ahead of time so that the painter's time could be used to our greatest advantage. The painter was prompt, very professional and painted straight through the six hours. Wow! Also, when my mother and I arrived at the house, other than the beautifully painted walls and ceilings, you would never have guessed anyone had been there. Last night was probably the most relaxing night we've had in months and while it might have only been a small job for Turner Painting, it was a HUGE job for us and we appreciate the ease and professionalism with which it was completed.

When I called, my assumption was that he would get back with me. He did say that his schedule was busy, but he offered to set up a date to come out for an estimate. I'm still waiting to hear from him.

I let him use my paint and he was supposed to buy more paint. He never provided a receipt for the paint. He never returned my paint so I have no idea if he used it all or not. He was supposed to find the water line to the ice maker in my basement. He was supposed to locate the line in the wall, but he never did that. He had one of his workers to collect the payment. He never came back to look at the job after he was done. He removed two surround speakers and never put them back up after he was done. There were still spots that needed to be touched up on the wall after he was done, but he never came back so I could show him this. They left marks on my front door coming in and out of the house.

Ken, the owner, came to our house at no charge to work out what could be accomplished in the 6-hour Angie's List deal. He was very personable and professional, was clear about what to expect, and said that if the painter had enough time, he would do as many additional areas requested as possible. He said that moving furniture, etc., out of the way (other than breakable personal decor items on the furniture) could be included in the job if needed. I asked to have the details of our agreement signed and on paper so there would be no surprises on the day of service. To eliminate possible communication problems, I also asked that whoever came to paint be able to speak English (and be "legal" workers). Ken assured us those would not be issues with his company. Since painting trim is our most-hated part of the process, we went for having that done instead of the walls. The agreement was that all the trim in our combined living room/dining room area would be done. Ken explained that the surfaces would first be de-glossed so new paint would adhere. As we discussed with Ken at his initial visit, we did some of the taping and moved all of the furniture ourselves, so that more actual painting could be done (i.e., some of the extra areas we'd talked about). Ken recommended what type of paint to get and how much we would need, both to cover what they would paint, and what we would need for the remaining trim in the house. As it turned out, the painter was able to do everything agreed on, plus more. Because we had put down new (albeit pre-painted) quarter-rounds the night before, one coat wouldn't cover those, so he did a second coat. We were very pleased with the job done. Our painter was great...on-time, very personable, professional, easy to work with, took minimal breaks, kept everything clean during the process, and cleaned up after himself. More than once when I thought surely our time had run out, he said "What's next? There's still more time." He kept very good track, and gave us our money's worth. We would definitely use Turner Painting again, and would recommend them.

I was thrilled to see a 6 hour painting deal. I had been wanting a stairwell to my finished attic area painted but knew I could not do it myself. Ken came within a couple of days of my call to assess the project. Ken was very personable and confirmed the project could be completed within the terms of my deal so we scheduled painting to be done two days later. The painter was punctual, friendly and very professional. The paint color I selected was considerably darker than any color I have ever used before. The stairwell and hall look fabulous. Measures were taken to assure each area accessed in my home was kept clean. About 18 months ago, before I moved into my home, I hired a company to paint several areas. That was the first time I ever hired someone to do painting for me. The quality of work I received from Turner Painting affirmed, what I already believed, my prior interior painting service was not very good. I will be contacting Ken soon to have his crew repaint some of those areas for me.

My schedule was a little disjointed but Ken worked around the project. Very excellent work, always on time, and on budget. I will use Ken's Painting on upcoming projects.
