Turner Painting and I have a different of opinion on how the one room paint and plaster repair job happened and turned out. I was verbally promised I would be very happy when I agreed to hire him for the job.

Repaired several cracks and remudded several wall flaws. Cleaned up, very efficient, did great work.

The painter was on time, was professional and pleasant, and did a fine job. Sometimes with the Angie's List discounted deals, it seems as if the contractor sends the B or C Team. Not in this case. They sent someone who knew what he was doing and cared about quality.

The work was done in a timely manner and done very well.

They were very good and I will use them again. Everything was pretty fast and we didn’t have any issues. The deal was a great value.

They arrived on time, and did the job in a orderly and professional manner. No small talk or breaks. I would hire them in the near future.

The total cost was $1950 in addition to the deal. The job took much longer than I thought because not many people wanted to work over the holidays. I think they were here for eight days. It was painful. It wasn't their fault but that was the schedule I had open. To have one person show up the most days, some days two. The thing that stood out most about their service is they did what they said they were going to do. They delivered on their commitments. They showed up on time everyday. I would probably use them in the future.

Chuck showed up at 8A.M. as was promised, he went to work right away, He did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. I know how difficult wallpaper removal can be. Chuck was personable, informative and kept busy the whole time he was here. I'm glad I hired Turner Painting and bought the Big Deal.

I purchased a "Deal" for my daughter. Ken Turner was very responsive and professional. His crew accomplished quite a bit of painting for the time purchased, and my daugther and her husband were pleased with the results. They will likely hire him to do more paining in their home.

I was not comfortable after talking to him that he would do the job the way I wanted it done.

We were extremely pleased with Ken and his crew. They were extremely professional, neat and on schedule. There was quite a bit of wood trim they had to paint around and they did an excellent job with all the detail. Each day they took care to clean up the job site and store all of their supplies. They were very accomodating and great to work with. It was a pleasure to have them work on our house. We would abslolutely call Ken first for any additional painting work.

Completed all work in a timely manner ahead of my schedule. Great team of friendly professional painters that pay close attention to detail and the finished product is perfection!

Excellent; the man that they sent out was very polite, clean, and took precautions to keep the house clean. He did what he was supposed to do and a little bit more.

It was a little bit on the iffy side. The workers were really friendly, but the quality didn’t meet my expectations.

The coupon actually was good for more than one room, but as the master bedroom is large, we agreed that they'd just do the one room. The estimator who came assured us that there'd be no problem finishing the room. The painter who showed up and did the work did several things wrong: one, he didn't finish the room (there is a large central beam that he forgot- but claimed he hadn't done because he ran out of time); two, he got several paint smears on the rug (but was good enough to come back and clean them up); three, left the house for a couple of breaks, on one occasion driving to a local store, while leaving the house key out in plain view. When we explained our concerns to the company, they didn't seem very interested, though they did send the guy back to clean up the rugs. All in all, I think they were in a hurry to give the minimal service for the coupon paid for. I wouldn't use them again.

Did an excellent job, clean and fast. I wanted the room looking fresh for the house to go on the market and it looked great. Got the whole room done in 8 hours.

This project, which was a somewhat frustrating experience, was perhaps an anomaly for Ken’s service based on other reviews I’ve read. We had his team remove popcorn from our ceiling. The crew he sent (he did not do this work himself initially) sprayed our ceiling with water, mudded areas with issues, then the next day painted the ceiling (they didn’t prime it). We went in on day three and the ceiling was peeling in MANY places. We contacted Ken who made it out a few hours later to see what the problem was. He felt something from the house/drywall was seeping through the ceiling. He assured us that there would not be any more peeling and the work would be fixed over the weekend to not cause problems with our project timeline. The next day more areas were peeling so he himself came out to fix the project over the weekend. Ken did good work and our ceiling looks ok but not great and certainly not “perfect.” There are areas that are peeling that we have not contacted him about – partly because it was a frustrating experience and partly because we don’t have time to have it fixed and don’t want the fumes in our house with a baby. Paint on the ceiling is bubbling and he said we could sand it ourselves if we wanted to – the bubbles area thick drips of paint and aren’t great. They’re all over the ceiling and aren’t really sandable. Problems with the project: 1. Ken didn’t inspect his crew’s work at our place at the end of the day. If he had, he might have been able to head the problems off at the pass. 2. Our ceiling wasn’t primed before it was painted. In newer houses, this may not be a problem, but it is a problem in this house. I think this was a mistake, and I think it’s still causing problems for us.- His work is pretty good. The crew’s work was not as well done. 3. My husband and Ken lost their tempers with each other and argued on the phone, so in my mind there, I see fault on both sides. But when Ken came to fix the work, he said very few words to us (as in “hi” and nothing else). He did not tell us his plan of attack to fix the problem, when he planned to work, and what the goal was. I wish he had been more communicative throughout the project (like a call at the end of the day to tell me about the project’s progress - these calls didn't happen), but when things didn’t go well, that’s a reason for better communication, not worse communication. 4. Ken told us after coming back on day three to check the project that it would cost us an additional $200 to make it right because he “could not have foreseen these problems. “ That was in addition to the $100 extra we paid him to mud some problem areas. Again, these problems could likely be avoided if the ceilings had been primed. We feel we paid for his expertise, and perhaps he thought our project was more simple than it really was, which is why he sent a crew and didn't check on them. 5. At the end of the day, I feel Ken wanted $1,000 to do our project and he got it. Our result is not near “perfect,” and since primer wasn’t used on our project (the idea wasn’t even brought up but I did Kilz the ceilings in all the rooms I painted on my own and he knew that) who knows what the longevity of our ceiling will be. I have already had to reprime and repaint several areas and there is cracking in more areas. Again, we have not contacted Ken for him to look at this job yet again, which might not seem fair, but it was such a frustrating process the first time and second time, it’s difficult to go through it a third time and we don’t want the fumes in the house. I have read many responses he has written back that seem to be somewhat defensive for scores that aren't perfect. I fully expect Ken will give us an F. I really believe in small businesses, which is why I picked one in the first place. This one was disappointing for us, others have not been.

We had the double tiered deck rebuilt. The old superstructure was retained with the decking being new construction. As a result part of the deck had been stained previously. Ken Turner responded quickly to my request for a bid. I thought the price was fair. He also suggested a solution to compensate for older and newer wood. The staining was done in one day. The exterior crew, Mark and Don, were proficient, professional, and good to work with. Ken made a point of keeping in touch as stain selection and scheduling were done. The deck looks great and I will use Turner Painting again when it's time for the next clean and stain job.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it went really well. We didn't have to pay anymore, and they did a good job.

Extremely well. I really couldn't expect any better. Although their bid was higher than other companies, I went with Turner because they accommodated my schedule perfectly. I'm glad I did because they did outstanding job. I can't complain too much about the price because I understand the truism that you get what you pay for. Bottom line- if it's a very important job to you or seems difficult, I would not hesitate recommending this company.

Ken came out as promised and gave me a cost for the complete interior painting. This included paint, prepping and all that came with painting. The two guys came out on time, prepped and moved furniture. The started at the back of the house and moved forward as I requested. They did a superb job. Cleaned up afterwards. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

The person who came to do the job was excellent. He showed up on time, prepped the areas well and did an excellent job. As for the initial scheduling, there was a long delay from the date the service was purchased until the first date of contact and no date was set to do the work - it would be "as they had time". Our next contact gave next day notice and we had not yet even purchased the paint. The next contact was on a Saturday and gave enough lead time for us to get the paint and make the room ready. I'm not sure if this is the normal way of scheduling for this business or if it was due to a large response from the daily deal. The owner knew up front that we wanted additional work done and advised the regular hourly rate. He indicated that if we wanted more time to let him know. When the painter was at our home, we asked for an additional 2 hours and were ready to pay for the extra time. He called the owner and was told to just finish the living room, foyer and hall ceilings and leave. The owner never bothered to call back to see if we were satisfied with the job or if we wanted to schedule more work. If we could hire the individual who actually did the work to do the rest of the painting, we would. But we would not go out of our way to hire this company again.
