Revitalize Floor Finishing

Very courtesy, quality work. Have received compliments on how nice they look. Have asked him twice to come back and bid on floors downstairs but haven't heard back from him.

Mark Cooney had came out and gave me a quote. I had just had another company come out to give me a quote which was more than double what Mark quoted me. When he was done the work looked so good that I asked him about doing the formal dining room because I hadn't done that. He came the next week and finished that for me too. I had a friend who was visiting and she came and looked at them and said the floors were beautiful and they are. I keep finding myself just looking at them. He was very thorough and explained to me what he was going to do. He explained to me I was going to have to spend a night or two at a hotel because the fumes were going to be pretty bad and I wasn't going to be able to come downstairs, so that was fine. He's just really, really, thoughtful. He sanded a part on the floor and showed me. I told him the kind of look that I was going for so he brought different things to show me what they would look like. He cleaned up after himself, put the furniture back, and I just appreciated it. The other place that I got a quote from were going to charge me for everything. They were really trying to nickel and dime me. They were going to charge me to move every piece of furniture and then charge me to put every piece back. The flooring was not that expensive, but when they added on all these other things. They asked if I was going to move the furniture or if I wanted them to do it and I said I would like them to do it. They then said okay, but there's a charge for that, so needless to say I didn't go with them. Mark is personable and extremely knowledgeable even though he's relatively young. He's been doing this for a long time, like 10 or 11 years. He started as a teenager and he's now on his own. He's very professional and when he says he's coming he comes. He calls if something is holding him up. The night that I ended up staying at the hotel he stayed until 1:30 in the morning finishing up the job so he could be on time. He told me in the course of the next couple of weeks if I see something that I don't like to give him a call to let him know so he'll come back to make it right. You don't hear that a lot and especially from somebody that young.

Mark did an excellent job putting in new oak floors in my kitchen. The floors weren't level and Mark came up with a workable solution that fixed the issue. My house was built in 1918 so none of the floors are completely level. The floors turned out beautifully and he was able to match the color to the rest of the house. I bid the job out and Mark was the lowest price bid by just a little bit. I don't always go with the lowest price bid, if the bids are close, but this time I am glad I did. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark to anyone that needs quality work on hardwood floor repair or replacement.

Mark did an excellent job installing our hardwood floors. He was very accommodating and often said, "I just want to make sure you are happy with your floors." He redid our hallway twice to make sure it looked the best and the least amount of transitions were needed.

Called Mark to schedule a bid to refinish our floors. He came out on time and gave us a bid that was lower than other companies. Scheduled a time to start refinish. Mark and Tony were on time each day, called me at the end of each day to give me an update and were very professional and clean during the entire process. The dust was minimal, just required a wipe down of surfaces. Mark mentioned he does not usually take off the quarter round of the baseboards, which I was initially worried about, but they did a fantastic job around the baseboards. I do have white baseboards, so did have to re-paint the bottom of each baseboard, but that was much better than replacing each piece, then having to paint. The entire process was smooth. It happened just as Mark explained it would, there were no surprises at all. He even helped us to darken the existing color. The Price was exactly as quoted. I would definitely use Mark again. Great quality work!!

They did very quality work, paid attention to detail and worked around my schedule. Their price was a whole lot better than some other quotes I got.

Another company could not install our floors, so i had to find someone else. Marc was able to come the same day and do the measure and install the next day. He was very quick about everything. Very impressed with how quickly he was able to do everything. Very happy with the way it looks! Overall very fantastic work!!!! For future flooring needs I know who I could go to! A+++ on everything!:)

Marc agreed to meet us on a weekend to review the work requirements and provide an estimate. He was prompt and the estimate was reasonable. Because of our move-in plans we asked him to do the second floor first and return a few weeks later to do the first floor. He agreed and the plan worked smoothly. The work was completed on time and better than expected. The team went out of their way to do small repairs that were beyond what I really expected. All dealings were professional and courteous.

We went with Mark over other bids due to his attention to detail when he was making his bid. Because we had different types of flooring in the existing space, he brought up potential issues with the trim molding and gaps with the new floor. He was always very prompt in contacting us back. He did a good job in getting rid of those squeaks in the subflooring! The finished job looks awesome!

Marc did an excellent job not only in installation, but the communication was excellent. I had various floors removed and was most impressed (and glad) that the removal of the ceramic entry went as smooth as it did. They were great at asking questions/opinions as the job progressed. I was asked daily if I was happy with how the job was going and if I had any questions or concerns. He did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend his company.

I have been in the midst of a remodel that I can only call a disaster. The flooring is the only bright spot in the entire experience thanks to Mark and his team. They were met with several challenges during the two day project. They handled each one with a well thought out plan and followed with precision execution. Mark approached this project as something to do right while many of the other workmen on my remodel approached it as just as a job to get done. I saw Mark as a true craftsman. His work is impeccable and he took time to talk to me about the proper care of the floor. He and all of his team was a pleasure to have around while they worked on the project. They were all very personable and professional. They were great in the cleanup effort after the job was completed. Furniture was put back in a flash! This is what it is like to deal with a professional team!

I contacted Mark Cooney because I liked his reviews on Angie's List and he promptly gave me a very reasonable estimate on a fairly large area for a whitewashed hardwood floor refinish - one of the most difficult refinishes. I told him at the time that I was considering trying to do it myself and was a little shocked when he said to call him if I had any questions or needed advice during the process if I did attempt to do it myself. Well, I did try it myself and got myself into one huge mess. I called Mark and he again promptly came to look at the mess and tell me how to fix it and gave me a very reasonable estimate to fix it himself. (no, "I told you so" from Mark which I appreciated!") He came in and sanded-off my mess and worked through a multi-step process of creating a spectacular finish with a professional stain and two-part satin finish that is BEAUTIFUL and FLAWLESS! Mark is a PERFECTIONIST and a VERY HARD WORKER! I was impressed with him as a PERSON and a PROFESSIONAL and would recommend him to anyone.

Overall we had a very positive experience with Mark and Chuck. They showed up on time and kept us informed of the progress. We removed carpeting and a mdf base floor from one room to allow for the installation of new flooring, and Mark came by at my request one evening a week or two before the installation to advise us on this part of the tear out, and let us know that he could address an un-level part of the old original plywood sub flooring near a window. That part looks very level now. The new wood installation looks professional. The boards are smooth and tight, with a mellow satin finish. The refinishing of the original hardwood floors in the rest of the house also came out great. As I mentioned above, stains and scratches have disappeared, and the satin finish was an excellent choice. I stopped by on several different days during the project to check on the progress, and the guys were always working. We had planned to leave in our old (sort of beat up) base boards in place, but Mark mentioned that this would be the time to replace them to match the floor, so we did. I think this was one of the best of many good decisions we made during this project. The new baseboards and base shoe really look nice with the new floors. My comment would be, if you are going to hire a professional, then listen to their advice when they give it to you. These guys were better or equal to others we had price quotes from (a total of four), they worked to make us happy, and gave good advice when needed. I would recommend them or use them again

I contacted Mark via Angies List and followed up with a phone call. Mark came out and provided and estimate within the week. The project was a four day process for us. Day 1 sanded main areas of the floor. Day 2 sanded edges, removed toilet and sanded bathroom, and moved out refrigerator and sanded that area. Then completed day 2 by applying stain to the entire floor. Day 3 was used for light sanding, tacking the floor, and applying the sealing coat. Shortly afterwards a family member stepped in the wet finish so I called Mark to determine what we needed to do to fix that issue. Mark came out to inspect the damage. He felt that he could improve on the quality of how the last coat dried, so had the final coat buffed out and applied another final coat at no charge. Of course that also corrected the foot prints. The results looks great!

The hardwood floor in our kitchen and master bedroom had water damage. The company came out and gave us an estimate and we set a date for the work to begin. The crew was prompt and very good to work with. We had moved all the furniture before they arrived and they went right to work. The sanding was virtually dust free and cleanup was minimal. The work took about three days. The floors look great and we were very pleased with the service.

It was very reasonably priced ands they did a good job.

06/25/11 UPDATE: My husband scratched up our newly finished floors by trying to move the refrigerator a few days after Mark had completed the job. We called Mark and he came out free of charge to fix our mistake! Great guy, who stands behind his work. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We had four total bids from companies that were reviewed well on Angie's List, and the other three were quoting 30-45% higher than Revitalize Floor Finishing did. Yes, we were a bit skeptical as to why he was so much less expensive, but based on former reviews, decided to give him a shot. We are thrilled with the job Mark and Chuck did. They were quick, courteous, did what we asked, made very little mess, and did a great clean up when they were done. The floors look brand new again, and we're so happy we went with Mark. He did a great job, and is worth a call if you need your floors refinished.

He did a wonderful job. Completely happy with his work and will ask him to come back to do the floors in other rooms I'll be working on. Definitely recommend him.

There were lots of problems because of the age of our home and the weirdness of the existing floors. But Marc solved them as promised. It could have been a disaster, but ended up being a very positive experience, leaving us with beautiful, stunning new floors. He suggested a Brazilian Cherry border around the hardwood entry way. It looks fabulous. Also, he repaired and custom built many of our replacement baseboards, going over and above our expectations. A great guy, with a solid sense of quality and craftsmanship.

Very nice job, worked around us, our tons of furniture and four animals. No dust and perfect color.

Promptly returned initial phone call and was punctual for the estimate. Once we scheduled a date, Mark came back out and went over what we needed to do to prepare. He explained exactly what he was going to do and sanded a small area in our kitchen which he applied five stain colors for us to choose from for our finish. The dust was well contained. After the final coat he came back out to touch up the floor. The floors are great. Really pleased that they came out so well.

JUST CALL MARK! I took a chance by calling him due to the fact there was only one review of his service on Angie's list but I could not be more thrilled with the result. He and Chuck came over to give me an estimate on refinishing my kitchen floor and I instantly liked them. They told me exactly what needed to be done and didn't try to sell me anything that wasn't necessary. They measured everything quickly but carefully-- other companies I called just glanced at my tiny kitchen and gave me a "minimum" charge. Revitalize was different, they want the work! Mark and Chuck are hard workers, very prompt, and they know exactly what they're doing. There was no dust since they use a dustless sanding method, and they were so wonderful about helping me move some furniture out of the way. When they entered my home it was a flooring disaster and when they left I felt like I lived in the Bellagio. Ok, not quite, but close. They sanded and sanded and sanded to remove the old remnants of flooring glue and junk. It was nasty work but their attitude was great. I've never met a team who made me laugh so hard. They were careful to hand sand around areas where the sander couldn't reach and always treated my home with respect. After that first day they came back the following three days! Two days to apply a coat of polyurethane (GORGEOUS!) and a third day to replace some trim I wanted and to help me move my stove and refrigerator back safely using a crazy floating device to lift the appliances. I haven't even mentioned the price yet either--- I saved hundreds of dollars by using Mark and Chuck. Once word gets out about their business I'm afraid they are going to have to charge more. I realize that this review probably sounds over the top, but I cannot say enough good things about Revitalize Floor Finishing. I'm recommending them to anyone who wants a terrific deal on hardwood floors. Please just give them a call before you try anyone else. I would hire them again in an instant!

Mark did an excellent job from start to finish. He answered my initial call promptly. He gave me a quick estimate (which was accurate) and was on schedule for the entire job! He also did a wonderful job of cleaning up while working and after finishing. Mark takes a lot of pride in his work as he should. My floors look beautiful! He was very reasonable. If you are installing or refinishing wood floors, you really should check with Mark before hiring someone else.
