Century Plumbing

Almost our entire new construction experience with this company was terrible. The one thing positive I will say about the first plumber is that his glued connections were very neat and tidy. No purple gunk all over the pipes. The first plumber they sent spent an abundance of time on his phone in his van. He stated he had never installed a jetted tub and was reluctant to do the install. He unboxed the tub a couple weeks before install and then supposedly only noticed a cracked corner when he finally got around to trying to put it in. We had to take it back and get a new tub. We have propane gas and made it clear several times we were having a propane gas stove put in. He installed hook ups for an electric stove. One of the soldered connections leaked all over our basement. Instead of sending the plumber back to fix it, we had to turn the water off and wait for the plumbers to come back out during the finishing. A different plumber came out for the finishing and he saved the running of the gas line for the gas stove for last (contradictory to what the builder asked for). Our completion was held up because of this and then the plumber wasn't at work for two days. When the plumber came back he scratched up our brand new LVP flooring while installing the stove. Not just a little bit, but significantly in an area about 4sq ft. The worst and most incompetent thing this plumber and this plumbing company did was install the stove without converting it to propane. The plumber and builder were told multiple times we have propane. You can clearly see a 1,000 gallon propane pig outside our house. And we live in the country, 1/4 mile off the road. It doesn't take a genius to understand this is a propane home. And again, we told the plumbers many times we used propane and even told the plumber at least twice the day of install that we needed the propane orfices installed. I have my propane company coming out to fix what this company did wrong. I have to pay a professional to finish the job these fools couldn't. I have a brand new pots and pans set stained with black suet now. Please find literally any other plumbing company but this one.

After many years of good business relationship, I found it didn't really matter because they simply didn't care to return my calls requesting service. I gave up after 3 attempts to schedule service. After calling the first time (in the early morning) and waiting until the end of the day for the service department to return my call, I called one more time. The person I spoke to told me it is not uncommon for the service department to fail to return calls, especially when they are busy. He told me he would ask them once again to call me back, but said he couldn't give me any idea if or when they would return my call. They did however return my call later that day & promised to get back to me within 2 days. After 2 days I called again and asked them to contact me, but now it is 5 days later and still no return call..... I moved on & found a really good company from Angie's List reviews & they have performed the services to my total satisfaction.

First of all, Todd was an hour late because he forgot the appointment! We had to call from the site after waiting around for more than a half hour to find out he forgot and would hurry out to meet us. He looked over everything and gave us some preliminary cost info and said he'd have something more concrete within a few days. Despite phone messages and repeated email messages asking for an update on when the estimate would be finished, we got no responses. As of 4/6/10 (15 days of waiting), we had still not heard a word so I called Century Plumbing to tell them to let Todd know we don't need his estimate anymore and he can forget about it. We will go elsewhere. Maybe Century Plumbing does wonderful work, but if we can't get responses, and we can't get estimates and they don't show up on time, there's no point to using this company.
