Tom is excellent to do business with. He's professional, courteous, punctual, and completes work on time and on budget. Tom and his crew are capable of completing a wide variety of tasks. He can do big jobs (replacing a roof or dry wall, refinishing floors), but also doesn't mind doing smaller jobs (fixing windows that are sticking, replacing guttering, installing ceiling fans, removing trees). Last winter, I bought a house that was a complete disaster. However, for a very reasonable price and within a relatively short timeframe, Tom was able to get the house in good, rentable condition. Unfortunately, this was one of those projects that for every one thing you fix, you find two more things that need repaired or replaced. Throughout what I would consider to be a trying process, Tom was kind, professional, performed work to a high standard, and provided excellent advice. I would highly recommend Tom.

They're not as good as they are promoted. The cost was pretty severe. They need to improve and do better. They were punctual.

He was very professional, honest and he did everything we agreed upon.

Although he has about 6 weeks of work ahead of him, Tom said he would get a 'camera' and return 'next week' in order to uncover 'the problem'. He contacted us today, (Monday)- Note, the first of the week , to schedule a return visit. Unfortunately he ran into car trouble, also contacting me to keep me informed, and plans on being here tomorrow. What I think I appreciate more than anything, is his honesty and desire to perform what needs to be done, not the most expensive option. I have every confidence that he will determine 'what' the problem is before he digs a big hole in our living room! I will keep you posted on the outcome but have to say that Angie's List was well worth the money!!

We needed three window boxes installed on a brick house. They are very heavy and we were concerned about support, secure attachment and avoiding damage to the house. The installation went smoothly, looks very nice and everyone was very friendly and professional. This was a small job, but important to us, and we were impressed that we were able to find someone to do high quality work in a short time frame. Very satisfied.

We are considering hiring him, but we have put a hold on it for some time. The guy that came out was very nice and prompt. He had to reschedule his quote at one time because of the family thing. He called me before and rescheduled it. He was great. He quoted around $3500 for the job. He was fine and there was no problem at all.

The experience was absolutely wonderful. I liked his honesty and my advice is if you need something done, give him a call.

A-1 Mr.Handyman's price was real reasonable, they did what they said they were going to do, they were here on time, got right to work, finished up promptly, and cleaned up after themselves. I'm real pleased with everything.

Tom is extremely reliable, which is a plus in the construction business! If he says he will be somewhere at a certain time, he will be there. His work is good, he has a wide knowledge base, and is reasonable in his pricing. Recommend

Work performed over three days. Tom wad amazingly nice and reasonably priced. I was able to leave the crew without supervision and know that things were ok. I completely trusted them (I have trust issues).

Tom worked a couple of days, letting us know before hiring him that he had a vacation already planned. He saw we were in a dilemma and was so willing to help us out of a situation to get us going as best as possible before he left on vacation, and then was prompt to return and finish afterward.

Their quoted price was $11,450.00. He was really nice and informative when he was here but did not come at the time he said he would. I had to call him for a couple of weeks to get a quote. One time he told me he couldn't give me a quote because he was on vacation.

Tom diagnosed the problem and went to work. He completed the wiring job in a short amount of time. He did not damage other areas of our home (this has happened before), and did not try to convince us that we needed more work -- upgrades, etc. Thank you, Tom! After the wiring job was complete, Tom said that he had time to install our new storm door. We originally thought that he would have to compe back another day to install the door. Tom and John worked on the door and everything looks wonderful. We could not be more pleased with the work and will recommend Tom to all of our friends and neighbors.

After getting home from work I was attempting to remove our old toilet and install a new one, i tried to turn off the water at the shut off valve. After flushing the toilet to see if I had made any progress on the stuck valve, I noticed that the water would not shut off when the float valve closed. In a panic I called a couple of other supposedly 24 Hour companies. A-1 Handyman Tom called back almost immediately (this was about 6:00 PM mind you) and said he would be right over. Tom came by and fixed the toilet and even installed a new shut off valve (since I had destroyed the existing one). Tom was extremely nice, quick, and professional. I will definitely use A-1 Mr. Handyman again.

When I first called Mr. Machado, he came the following Saturday to give me an estimate and discuss the repairs needed. He arrived at the time he said. I felt that Mr. Machado's estimate was reasonable and we agreed to have the repairs completed. He said he was finishing up another job and would be able to come on Friday of the following week. He called me Wednesday and said he had finished his job early and would be at my house the next morning. Mr. Machado and his crew arrived and set to work right away. The the repairs were completed quickly and efficiently. I would definitely call Mr. Machado again.

Tom responded to my inquiry within an hour. Very impressive. He came out the very next day and did the work exactly as he said he would. I was very pleased with his responsiveness and attention to what I needed.

Great experiance. Highly recommend this A-1 Handyman. Will use his services again in the near future.

Tom called to let me know if he needed to change the time. Arrived on time. Performed work as desired. This was during the very busy period shortly after the tornado damage and he worked in this project even though he was extremely busy.

He was very polite and did a good job.

Originally we contacted Tom to waterproof our basement, however upon inspection he talked to our neighbor and found out that a water main had broken a few years prior flooding the whole yard. Tom could have at this point taken the job and charged us 4-5,000$ instead he said the basement looked solid to him. So we asked him how much he would charge for the sink and plugs, he gave us a very fair bid. He was booked for a month but he worked us in. 5 stars!
