About 30 trees were installed by them for about $4300 in 2020. This work was satisfactory except for some tree were uneven. After 5 month, one tree was damaged by Deer rub. I called to have them replace it at my cost. The original person M who was in charge of the original work stated that someone else is now in charge of smaller project and he will have J.C. contact me. A week goes by and no contact from J.C. so I contacted M again and he said he would contact him again. J.C. Calls and came out to give me an estimate. He quotes me $550 subject to tree cost ( I will have to pay the difference in tree cost if any from 7 month ago) He wanted to back his truck up to my back yard over my french drain. He assures me there would be no problem with the french drain. I call the landscaping company who did the french drain work and they inform me NOT to drive over the french drain. I let J.C know of this but no reply. After silence for about a week, I contact him for a final price ( as he said he would check the tree price difference if any) He texts me $650. I assumed the tree went up $100 and accepted the fact. I asked him to send me a final bid with break down of work ( as I originally received during the first work ) to my email so I can pay Pssiglia for the work. He replies ' thank you I will do by next week'. I wait about a week but nothing from J.C. I ask him what is the final price again and he texts me $650 without tree !. I told him we agreed on $650 with the tree. He texts me ' Yes you are right'. At this time, I am starting to question the entire process. I also informed J.C. again that he can't drive over the french drain. He then texts me ' give me $60 more' for not being able to drive over the french drain. I inform him that he can drive up to the top of my driveway which is only several feet difference and asked to agreed and proceed with $650. No replies from J.C. despite several attempts. In the meantime, I called Passiglia and asked how much for the cost of the tree. They quote me $109. I paid $99 for a tree before so I realize the difference is only $9. I start to question where the $100 increase came from and now the original $550 quote has increased to $710. I call M at Passiglia who referred me to J.C. and informed him that I can't get things moving with J.C. and have issues with J.C. M then tells me that J.C is not an employee of Passiglia but a Sub and that any work J.C. does is not warrantied by Passiglia and the price is set by J.C. I was stunned to hear this as I was led to believe that J.C. was an employee of Passiglia responsible for smaller jobs. Now I am starting to realize that I am not dealing with company who did the original work. I also informed M about J.C. wanting to drive over my French drain and he agreed that it is not a wise to do so. Despite the fact that Passiglia did a decent job on the first project, if a company doesn't provide after care, why use such an organization. A good company should back their work and help a customer in need. In this situation, I was only asking to replace one tree out of about 30 at my cost. In addition, using a sub who would recklessly want to drive over your french drain and keep rising the price is not good business. There are plenty of nursery's out there who cares about their customers and to help out an existing customer in need. Unfortunately, Passiglia is not one of them and I would not recommend using them for any work based on my experience.
Description of Work: Original work went well but after service and care is non existent

I called to see if they had the types of plants I was looking for, as gifts for a very special lady. The woman who answered said everyone else was busy but she'd help me. Great, thanks! So I asked about two or three different plants. After a couple questions she became very short with me, and after another sentence, she took it to the point of being rude. She said they were short-handed and I'd have to come in to get any more questions answered. At that point she was nearly yelling at me, and she almost hung up on me! I told her I'm in the Chicago suburbs, so coming in would be a little difficult. I said these gifts were for dear friends in Ballwin. Then I let her know that I wanted to choose, order and pay for them, and the lady's daughter was going to pick up my selections as gifts for two occasions -- the lovely lady's 99th birthday, and her Mothers Day present. But Oh, No, I Certainly Could Not Do That!! She indignantly told me the people would have to choose their own plants! Nor could I pay for these plants which I was not allowed to select -- absolutely out of the question!! My only option was to get a gift card. Then these folks would have to come in, select their own plants, and pay for them with the gift card. (All this was delivered NOT in a nice, or apologetic, or understanding, or even a remotely professional, tone that you would expect from someone in a business situation; but instead, rudely, as though I was endlessly haranguing this person and being completely unreasonable. Several sentences ago, I had stopped talking. I was both disgusted and angry. At this point, going on a hunch, I quietly asked if the only way to purchase a gift card was online (because of course that would get me out of her hair). She said yes. I thanked her and she immediately hung up. Interestingly, I then called a nursery and garden center called Sugar Creek Gardens. I'll spare you the detailed walk through that conversation by summarizing it: EVERY WORD, POLICY, ACTION, ATTITUDE, PHRASEOLOGY AND STATEMENT FROM THE LADY AT SUGAR CREEK GARDENS WAS THE EXACT POLAR OPPOSITE OF PASSIGLIA'S. Kim at Sugar Creek was obviously very busy too, but when I apologized, she said (in a cheerful voice!) that I shouldn't worry -- I was not disturbing her, and she was happy to help me! Throughout our conversations that day (yes,, plural!) she could not have been nicer, more accommodating, and more delightful. I decided within the first three minutes that no matter what Sugar Creek's charges were, I'd buy all my plants from them. And do you know what? They were amazingly reasonably priced! I'm from St. Louis, grew up there, and have many, many friends and family there. Guess who is getting ALL my garden and floral business in the future?

I was pleased with their service. I used them because they did my neighbor's front lawn and I thought it looked great. Christine was very responsive to my questions and drew up a plan and modified it for my preferences. I have worked with other landscapers trying to make a plan for my front lawn, one of whom never called me back with plans, one of whom was extremely difficult to schedule and emailed me a plan not at all to my preferences. Christine was the first to be able to come up with a plan that I liked. She was the only one who really followed up with me. She made it easy for me, and drove to me (I don't live west) and was not pushy with her recommendations and was able to work with my preferences. I am very pleased with how it looks. I did my work at an odd time- early winter (just before the polar vortex set in). They were able to work around my scheduling needs, moved plants as I requested. They were fast, very professional, and left no mess. The evergreen plants are doing well even during these polar vortex weather patterns that we are experiencing, and the perennials (all of the plants) are guaranteed for replacement if they don't make it. I will use them again.
Description of Work: Relandscaped my front lawn. Pulled out hedges of yews and 2 super over-grown holly trees. Cut new beds. Planted new shrubs and 2 new trees. Fixed drainage coming from my gutters to avoid future problems (not even my idea, but a good one). Worked with my (squirrely) sprinkler service (that's a separate review) to get irrigation in at right point in job. Mulched beds.

Called to inquire about landscaping. Received a call back fairly promptly. The woman offered to inspect the area and create a plan, but said that it would be a $300 fee up front in order to receive an estimate. We asked for at least a and quot;ball parkand quot; estimate of the plan but she wouldn't provide this. Asked about a lower cost or free estimate. She said and quot;I went to college to learn landscaping. I have to get paid.and quot; We decided to try a company that would at least talk to us without cash up front.

Purchased two trees and had them planted in our yard. The sale person was apparently not having a good day and it seemed as if our being there was creating unappreciated stress. We were told that we would be contacted to schedule the delivery and planting of the trees. We were not contacted about the delivery until early one morning two days later letting us know they would be delivered later that day. It was a good thing we had no plans for the day... The trees were transported and planted by a subcontractor. Bob, the subcontractor, did excellent work (making up for the sales person according to my wife), was very personable and we were quite pleased with the result.

I have not decided who I am using for my landscaping. Overall, my experience with them was fine but I just didn’t really like everything they suggested. I liked some of what she suggested but she suggested enough things that I didn’t like. The price was a little high. I gave her a range of my budget and her price was at the high end of my budget so there was no flexibility if I wanted to do something differently. Her estimate was the highest and that is playing into my choice. She was timely and if there weren’t any other people, I’d be happy to go with her. She came out and then had my estimate ready in a timely fashion.

I needed to solve a water problem in my basement. I had 10 + company's to my house to bid the project. Chris from Passiglia was the last meeting I had. He was one of two people that submitted blueprints and he had told me from the start he doesn't haggle with money. I was looking for QUALITY service and price was an issue. I told him what my budget was and he blew my mind with the plans he created. We reigned in a little and made some changes and three months later my dreams had come true. I had a dry creek bed in my yard that cleared 200 ft around my home to protect my basement. Kevin was the foreman and he was BEYOND knowledgeable about waterproofing and making the dry creek RIGHT. I could REALLY go on for hours regarding them and the service they provided but if you can afford them HIRE THEM. If you want GREAT care, execution, and overall plant material, this should be your only call.... I went over budget because it needed the final touches. I used so much rock to make this happen and that just isn't cheap! Not when you pick some of the BEST materials within the bi state region! Thanks team!!
Description of Work: I need a creek in my yard to deal with rain water and street water and my house was not properly grated when built. They saw, solved and sweetened my yard with their EXCELLENT service. The put in creek, regraded, used soil to make berms, planted a lot of plants, and made sure the piping and drains in creek where top notch. It was an extreme yard makeover!

My house had been pierced and I lost whatever landscaping I had. A neighbor had used Passiglia's and I loved the look. I just read the other reports and disagree with the content of them. I dealt with Chris Passiglia and Kevin, both very professional. Chris worked within my budget and kept their appointments. My house looks fantastic and people have come to the door to ask who did the work. The landscaping helped sell the house within two weeks of listing. They back up their products and were happy to replace any items that did not survive the hot summer (even with a sprinkling system).
Description of Work: Designed and installed landscaping for the front, side and back yard. They also provided the landscape drawings indicating the sames of all plants, shrubs and trees and provided care instructions for each.

I TOLD HIM THE ONLY TIME I HAD AVAILABLE TO MEET WAS A WED. BETWEEN 4-4:30. HE FORGOT, DID NOT SHOW UP, AND I HAD TO CALL AND RESCHEDULE. HE FINALLY CAME OUT 1 1/2 WEEKS LATER, TOLD ME HE WOULD HAVE IT DONE BY SAT. AND TO COME BY TO TALK. I COULDN'T BE THERE DUE TO A PERSONAL EMERGENCY. I CALLED HIM ON MONDAY TO MEET OR JUST DROP OFF THE ESTIMATE, NO RESPONSE. I CALLED MANY TIMES THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, FINALLY ON FRIDAY HE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME TO MEET HIM ON SAT. HE WOULD HAVE THE ESTIMATE DONE (SHOULD OF BEEN COMPLETED 2 WEEKS PRIOR). HE ASKED ME TO CALL BEFORE I CAME TO MAKE SURE HE WAS THERE. I CALLED AT 4:30 ON FRIDAY AND LEFT HIM A MESSAGE TO CALL ME WHEN HE WAS THERE AND I WOULD BE UP ON SAT., NO RESPONSE. I WAITED UNTIL 4:30 ON SAT. AND CALLED, HE HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. DID NOT HAVE TIME FOR ME OR MY PROJECT. I WILL ALSO INFORM MY NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS OF THE UNSATISFACTORY TREATMENT I RECEIVED.
