Goff HVAC & Solar Energy

I called 4 places to get quotes on replacing my heating and air conditioning system. Goff came to my house and really looked things over, looked at the vents in each part of the house, looked in the attic and looked at the existing system. I was given a quote on several different systems, while they were here, and given their recommendation of which they though would be best. Of the other 3 businesses I called, one never even called back to set up a time to give me a quote. The other two come out and briefly looked at the existing system and said they would call me with a quote in about a week. Neither called after a week, so I called and one give me a partial quote and the other never returned my call. The other finally give me a quote after 3 weeks. I selected a system from Goff and made an appointment for installation. They were very professional about every part of the process and the installation was completed in the amount of time they had estimated. I am completely satisfied with their service and would recommend them.

Great - opened drain line and increased slope to prevent recurrence. Although this occurred during their busy season, Goff sent a friendly, highly-trained technician out quickly. The system has worked perfectly since.

Our A/C went out on the hottest day of the year. they came and brought us an temp A/C until ours came in. they were so nice and friendly. got it done in no time. and even came back when we had questions. We have used this company for years. Highly recommend

It went very well. All telephone contacts were friendly and professional. A bid which included three options was received promptly. After we notified Goff of the option we chose, products were ordered and a date was scheduled for installation. They arrived at the scheduled time and completed the installation that day. We have worked with Goff before and have been very satisfied each time.

Knowledgable and courteous staff. All the technicians were helpful in assisting with design and making sure heating and cooling was sufficient for size of home. Answered all of our questions, and alleviated any concerns. Offerred to follow-up if we have further questions. The experience was good. I like their brand of equipment, Trane was the brand that we bought. They had distributor for that in that area. The price is competitive. They did good work and the system works great.

The duct work was missing and then fell off in places. They did not insulate what they agreed to do and they left all kinds of debris under my house.

The installers worked with us on where we would like to have vents etc., they offered options to consider. They were prompt and did a very good job. The Air Conditioning works great, can't wait to try out the heat this Fall and Winter. Goff HVC has constantly been in touch with us to make sure things are as they should be. Very impressed.

They missed a few things with the install and had to fix them a week later. overall they were good to work with.

They gave me an estimate, and worked with me on the payment method. The process went very well and the unit is still working.

Had problems with a/c this summer at our cabin. We live several hours away and wern't. familiar with companies in area. After several calls to different companies on a Sunday, Goff responded immediately and were there within 15 minutes. When we decided to replace the unit, we definitely called them to do the work. Wonderful experience and highly recommend them. Very professional and efficient!!!

We purchased our current home 3 years ago and used Goff to service the existing heating and cooling system (recommendation from the previous owner). We were very pleased with their knowledge, responsiveness, professionalism and the quality of their work. When the existing system went out in late August we contacted Goff and several other companies to evaluate and install a new system. We quickly decided that Goff was our best option and worked with their technical people to determine the system that would best suit our needs. Based on these discussions we chose a system that included a dust filtering option and have been very pleased with the results and the quality of the air in the house. All the hot and cold spots in the house that we experienced from the previous system have been eliminated as promised by the Goff team. Their follow-up has been outstanding and very professional, regardless of when we call or what questions we have asked. We are looking forward to working with the Goff team in the future. We would highly recommend others that are looking for servicing of their existing system or to replace or upgrade their heating and cooling system to consider the Goff team. We are very pleased we made the decision to use them.

Overall, we are thrilled with Goff and our new system! We are confidant that we will be worry free for at least the next 10 years! We have an extended warranty on our system for 10 years that will cover any repairs needed! Goff has set us up on an annual maintenance program that will help us to keep our system and our warranty in the best condition! We could not have asked for anything more!! I have read some of the other reviews on here and I feel like I should add that these might have been intended for the Goff that is in Springfield. The owner confirmed to me that they are NOT the same company as the one in Springfield! I beleive, beyond a doubt, that Goff offers the best services and products in the area! You really can't put a price on reliability, honesty and integrity! Thank you Goff!

I have used this company for several years. They come out to check my systems twice each year. I have always been thrilled with their service and their employees. The girls in the office are always friendly and helpful. They have even given me and quot;free adviceand quot; on several occasions. The employees have always shown up when scheduled and are very professional. I felt the need to add this review because I seen a couple of negative reviews on them. I was on Angie's List looking for a company that did duct cleanings (I didn't realize that Goff did this until I seen it here) and seen how people were talking about them. They have installed three systems for me (two in my home and one in a rental house). They may not be the cheapest company out there, but they are worth every penny I've paid them so far!

Here's the story that leads up to this. Eight years ago I had Goff Heating and Air install two systems in my new home. One main level and basement. After six years of having them come out to find out why the main level unit won't get below 80 degrees in the summer I find out from a friend that my unit is under sized for the home. I discussed this with the owner of Goff and offer to pay for an upgrade since I hired them to install a proper system. He refused. So after six years of outrageous electric bills, because my unit ran 24/7 in the summer, my wife got in touch with Trane. The reps from Trane came out with the owner of Goff and came to the conclusion that I needed a 5 ton unit as opposed to the 3 ton that was originally installed. They encouraged the owner of Goff to replace the inadequate unit. I paid the difference for the bigger unit and life went on. Well now it's two years later 07/10/12 and the unit is not cooling. After the no show by Goff, I called another company that came out and told me that the unit was not installed properly and that the coil is leaking refrigerant. Two problems that are going to cost me even more to rectify and the only thing I did wrong was to hire Goff to do the work. For six years these guys knew it was an under sized unit and kept servicing it under warranty so they could bill Trane for the warranty work. The current owner told me that this issue was before he owned the company and it's not really his problem. Well the problem is, he worked for the previous owner and was the one who installed this whole setup while working for the previous owner. Not to mention he told me, before he owned the company, that he believes the unit is too small for the area that is trying to cool. So the current owner has known all along that I have a problem and just let it go. This is just a brief description of what has taken six years to culminate. 01/22/13 I guess the story must go on due to the response from the provider. When I built the home the company sent an individual out to assess the house and determine the size of the unit needed. I had more than one bid done at the time but did not notice at the time that the other bids had called for a larger unit than was being quoted by Goff Heat and Cooling. I advised every company, that was bidding, of the insulation that would be used in the attic. The walls were pretty easy to figure out since they were 6x8 solid logs. As for giving inaccurate information on the building materials, that's kind of hard to validate on Goff's part since the plans never changed from being a log home and the logs were already up before the unit was installed. I still have the bid from one of the other companies indicating a larger unit being required so the and quot;inaccurate informationand quot; doesn't hold water. We were under the assumption that all of the companies that were bidding on the HVAC system knew what they were doing regarding calculating load for the space involved. That is their job. When we finally got to the point that the unit was being upgraded I came across the old bids from all the companies that were bidding at the beginning of the construction and noticed that the other companies had all called for the larger 5 ton unit. Since I was ignorant to HVAC, I used the company that was a couple thousand dollars cheaper, but I also did not notice at the time the other companies called for larger units. With that said, make sure you read and reread the paper work. The one good thing that came out of all this is that I know enough about HVAC to ask the right questions to make sure the company stays honest. The bad is that I now have two holes in my solid wood living room floor due to them bastardizing the system thinking that tapping into the basement unit duct and venting it upstairs would solve the problem. The last time we dealt with them, they improperly installed the new larger unit that had a refrigerant leak after only a little over a year. They then literally refused to service it. I had to hire someone else to come in to reinstall the unit and fix the refrigerant leak. These folks have also gone out and bad mouthed me and my family because of their mistake. All I ever wanted was for them to do the right thing. Up until the day that we called to advise that the new unit is not cooling, and we were told to find a different company because Goff will no longer provide us service, I would not tell anyone of our situation. Now they still won't admit error, never have. It's always been someone's fault but their own. The way I see it, you build the system, then it is on you. The evidence is undeniable that it was on them from the beginning. I have it in writing. I did not complain about the cost to upgrade, as a matter of fact I offered to pay for an upgrade.

They got the unit going temporarily, said it needed a new fan motor and capacitor. The technician said he would order it and come back the next day to install it. The unit quit working in the middle of the night. Charged $161.00The motor was going to be $375.Capacitor - $65 The next afternoon a different technician (Richard) showed up and he was barely out of his truck when he said and quot;The motor they gave me is not going to fit this unit. But I will see if I have another motor that will work.and quot; He proceeded to take the fan off the unit, and stated that the fan blades could not be removed from the shaft and we would have to order a motor and fan blades. He then called somebody and came back and said that the motor has not been made since 1990 and there wasn't anything he could do. In the meantime Richard let me know that he had checked with the technician from the previous day about the motor because he was pretty sure when he first saw the new motor that it wouldn't fit in our unit. I asked Richard why they didn't send the same guy out from the previous day, he said because that was the owner. He set the fan back on the unit, left without charge. The next day we called Blue Eye Heating and Cooling about whether or not we could get this motor and fix the unit. He said I sure can, I have one in stock, he was here within 1/2 hr, took the fan off the old shaft, put it on the new shaft and had the unit running for the total of $264.00. During the repair with Blue Eye Heating and Cooling I was asked what the other company did for repairs, when I told him the recharged the unit with R22. He laughed and said no they didn't, showed me where the connection would have been to do that, I could clearly see that the connection had not been touched from the dirt on it, no marks what so ever. The owner of Goff Heat and cooling, made sure he showed me the gauges and how he was putting the coolant in and it would maybe take 1 Lb. but made sure i knew it only needed 1/2 Lb. So in finding out that he did not do any such thing and that me feel like such fool when I explained what he had shown me about the gauges and recharging the system. Clearly Goff heating and cooling had not done what he had showed me he was doing. I was being scammed by them and feel totally ripped off by what they had done. I would not recommend Goff Heat and Cooling they are con artists, only out to sell new units.

The service tech arrived on time, checked the condition of the coils inside the heat pump and for signs of leaks, checked filter, and used his guages to check freon in condenser, all in a matter of 10-15 minutes. I will use this company in the future when needed.

They are really good. I have no problems with them. They come when they say they will come.
