If I could give 0 stars I would. The owner has many excuses of why he can't complete the work on time. It has been over 6 months and he still hasn't completed the work. Not one project was completed. He never showed on time, made up many stories of why he couldn't come, said he ordered products that were never ordered. The project was never completed. For three months he was supposed to work on one area of the house and never did. He is unreliable, not truthful and the work is subpar as well. Tile was not laid well. Never fixed problem areas of hardwood refinish that he said he would repair. I would caution you before considering using him. We will now need to hire a qualified company to repair, complete and start the work he was contracted to do. Now, we have to go back and determine how much money he owes us.
Description of Work: This was a large project and over a 20K investment.

We hired Extreme Hardwoods because we had used their services in 2004 and were really impressed. This job did not go so well. The owner does not answer his phone, does not have voice mail, does not check email and does not like texting. That left little options for communication. I was quoted one price, but charged a higher price when the job was complete. I was told $720 for the initial bid with the understanding that once they got into the job, there might be more due to some patching in the floor that was required. Later I was told the patching would cost $175 and that the 4 boards I needed to replace the steps would be an additional $50. I was fine with all those costs and was told that when he delivered the 4 boards for the replacement steps they would be ready for my contractor to install. He stated that those boards would be stained and have at least 2 coats of poly on them. Now I'm not that upset that I was charged $80 more than what was agreed upon, but he only delivered two boards (not four) and they were not ready. I had to apply the polyurethane on them myself. I am also not happy with the fact that there are still bits of stuff stuck to my floor due to the fact that he does not like to vacuum the dust after sanding. I complained about it after the first coat, so he did vacuum after buffing the next two, but it was not a great job and he complained about having to do it. I also had to beg for him to put filler in some of the gaps and some of them are still not filled, but I just got tired of asking for things and watching him roll his eyes. He is a nice guy, but I feel he is too busy and my job was too small for his interest, and that his quality control has declined to a point that I would not hire him in the future.

Jeff Everett, the owner of the company, was very nice to deal with. He gave me a verbal bid and then followed up by faxing a proposal. He and his employee did the work and did a beautiful job. The floor looks great!
Description of Work: They did refinishing of hardware floors of one bedroom that was approximately 11 X 15 square feet. Work included pulling up tack strip, sanding, and applying semi-gloss finish. This was a 3 day job.
