lawn mower repair
+ -1 moreI called El Mel about replacing a gas tank on a lawn mower. The man I spoke with told me he could not repair the mower that day. But that I could bring it by. So I loaded up the mower and drove over 8 miles to El Mel. When I went to the service department they told me that it would take a month to fix the mower. I did not appreciate their lack of communication skills. I was led to believe they could fix it in less than a month. I think El Mel has good service but very poor communication skills. I think some of the people there need to go to classes on how to talk with the public.
Description of Work: Gave estimate of repair cost and time to repair.

lawn mower repair

Description of Work: When I dropped my lawn mower off 3 weeks ago I was told 79.95 would get my spark plug changed, oil changed, air filter, blade sharpened, and carburator cleaned. I said, if it needs any more than that call me. He said, well if your carburator needs to be re built it will be 89.95. They required a $20 deposit and said it could be 3 1/2 weeks. When I picked up my mower today he said my balance was $94.21. I questioned this and he said it was 89.95 which was labor and then each and every part was extra. I asked if tgey had to rebuild the carburetor and he said they cleaned it and I told him that was supposed to be 79.95 and no one said that only covered labor. He just kept talking about the 89.95 and the charge for parts, so I finally said, well, I wouldn't have minded as much paying this if you had been honest about the cost up front. He never apologized just looked away and I said, well my mower better start, and I guess I never have to come here again. He said, I guess you dont. Very disappointed that I was charged 34 dollars more than agreed upon.

+ -1 moreTHE CREW AT EL MEL IS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HAPPY TO HELP YOU. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT. THE TIRE WAS FINISHED IN 24 HOURS.
Description of Work: THEY PUT AN INNERTUBE INSIDE MY LAWN MOWER TIRE SO THAT IT WOULD KEEP AIR INSIDE OFF IT. I REMOVED THE TIRE AND TOOK IT THERE FOR THEM TO FIX.
