Steve arrived early and evaluated the exterior of the house. He was very thorough in his inspection. He walked us through everything he saw and everything he was specifically looking for as well. He helped us understand which issues we could address our selves and which were going to be a larger headache and/or cost. I was extremely impressed with his knowledge of more major code requirements across the counties and municipalities. He delivered his final report the same day the inspection was completed.

Literally read every review on Angie's list for Steve and then hired him. Great guy. Helped me understand every little thing he found during the inspection. No need to worry about documenting coz he's got all that covered with pictures (which you will receive from him the next day via email). Clearly helped me classify what should be fixed now vs. what can wait and why it can wait. Would definitely recommend Steve to anyone.

Steve was wonderful. We are first time home buyers, and were both a little nervous about the home inspection (someone walking through your potential house telling you everything that is WRONG is not ideal). Steve made the process painless and quite enjoyable. He was extremely thorough, opened every window, shut every door, flushed every toilet, etc. He arrived before our 9am appointment and had almost all of the outdoor inspection already done. When we arrived he went over everything he had concerns about with detail, suggestions, remedies, and photos. He arranged for the termite inspection, the sewer inspection and the radon test as well. I felt confident that my home was going to be looked over with pristine eyes. I would recommend Steve to anyone!

Exceedingly well. He said it was rare that he found so little wrong with a house... Minor maintenance issues, a few electricral issues, but a clean bill of health. I opted to hire an inspector before I placed the house on the market to determine if the house required any major work that would make selling the house difficult. this process put me at ease and equipped with his report should alleviate any concerns the buyers may have. Money well spent.

We are glad that we called steve. He was giving us tips all along. His inspection was detailed and he found many items which could have easily been overlooked.

I hired Steve based on all the positive reviews I read on Angie's list, and I was not disappointed. First he was at the house one hour before the appointment time. He had already done some outside inspection and had items to talk about when I arrived. Then he explained everything in laymen's terms and noted everything he found wrong or could go wrong with the house. He even did small things like open every window in the house & check behind the stove for anti-tipping device. He did find big ticket items too, we now know we need a new electrical box and supply into the house. He even found where there was one line of aluminum wiring. He was at the inspection for close to 4 hours explaining everything he saw. I had ordered the Radon testing and he dropped the test machine off two days before the inspection so I was able to know the results same day as the inspection. He was a little bit higher than some of the other quotes I received, but in my opinion he was worth the extra money.

Steve walked me through the inspection and answered all my questions. Since this was my first home he had to explain a lot to me. Not only did he take pictures of issues that needed to be address he pointed out which were items that seller really ought to do but also explained those issues that I could use as negotiating points. He let me know about how much things would cost. He also explained those yearly maintainence things that I should do. He gave me tips on how to get HVAC to run more efficiently and a tip on how to make gas fireplace be more efficient This is the second time I used Steve to inspect a home. I highly recommend him. I trusted him without reservation. I can't imagine a better home inspector!

To start off? the appointment was scheduled for 9am, but when I pulled up to the home Steve was already there inspecting the exterior, which I was more than pleased because it was extremely cold and snow was on the ground. Once we walked into the home he made it very clear that he was inspecting the home as if he was assisting his own daughter to ensure I did not make a costly mistake. Steve checked every crevice of the home and used analogies that even my nine year old son could understand. He even gave helpful DIY home owner tips so that I wouldn?t spend unnecessary money. Steve let me know that there were no major issues with the home and I really appreciated his feedback. If I ever need another home inspection I will definitely contact Steve.

Steve is a wonderful inspector. I'm buying my first property and Steve put me at ease and made me feel like I was talking to a part of my family. He was very reliable and very hands on. He walked us through the entire house and used terms we could understand. I would for certain recommend Steve to anyone I know.

Steve is great to work with. This was the second inspection we had him do for us. He does a very thorough job checking the house top to bottom. Takes pictures of all concerning items and lists everything in his final report which he had to us both times by the end of the day on the day of the inspection. He is very friendly and great to work with. Not only does he do the inspection, he will also give you lots of tips as a home owner on different items. I was looking to buy a new home in the area and after searching Angie's List, I came across Steve's name. With such outstanding reviews and awards I decided to give him a call. From my first interaction with Steve, I knew I had hired the right person to inspect my home. Not only is Steve knowledgeable, but he's a nice guy too. He picked up the phone when I called and asked if he could give me a call back because he was on an inspection with another client - but that's the type of guy he is. He doesn't want you to deal with an answering machine; he wants to take your call personally and provide you with personal and attentive one-on-one service. He called me back within 20 minutes and we talked for a good time as Steve took notes on what I was looking for and what he could provide. Steve even helped coordinate additional inspection services for me (sewer and termite). On the day of the inspection, I showed up 15 minutes early and Steve was already there! A business that actually shows up early! He respects your time and it shows. During the inspection Steve walked me through EVERYTHING. He searched, explained and told me the whys and be causes that come with findings during the inspection. Steve did such an amazing job that he even taught my realtor (and consequently her colleagues) a few things about homes and local codes as well. It was a really positive (and dare I say FUN?) experience with Steve. He really did a great job finding all of the house's dirty little secrets and gave me a lot of pointers about the home. If you want a thorough and knowledgeable inspection then call Steve. He will take care of you like you're one of the family.

Mr. McNamee was great to work with. Not only he was knowledgeable, he was thorough in his inspection and also took extra time to explain different nuances of the house. His inspection report was clear, concise, and full of important pictures, which were invaluable for our negotiations with the seller's agent. He was friendly and professional. He also followed up with us a week after the inspection to make sure we are satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend Mr. McNamee - especially if you're a first time home buyers!

Highly recommend!!! We hired Steve for the home inspection and we had him come back for the final walk-through before closing. He did a great job by remembering all the key points on the initial inspection reports and check the repaired items thoroughly. Working with Steve makes you feel he always stand behind you to protect your interests. His knowledge and experience will make your home buying experience a lot more transparent. When he came out to do the inspection he also brought a termite inspector and a representative of sewerpro to check out the drainage pipe. Both were very professional, and since they came with Steve, I knew I could rely on their assessments. While on the inspection he also gave me suggestions on how often the various systems in the house should be inspected by pros experienced in things like AC and heating. He also gave me tips on what I could do to maintain the systems myself and get a longer life on them. I can't remember having anywhere near the level of trust and confidence in any other vender,than I had in Steve!

Steve was a pleasure to work with. From the initial phone call to the final handshake he was a true professional. We had to cancel our original inspection and reschedule and he was very accommodating. Steve went through every aspect of the home with us and explained what he was looking for and what we should be concerned about and what not to really worry about. He was very knowledgeable regarding the systems of the home and explained what maintenance should be performed to keep everything running smoothly. He answered all of our questions and explained his opinions about everything. Fortunately we did not find anything unexpected or any causes for alarm. We feel much more confident in our purchase thanks to Steve. He said he inspects the home like he was inspecting it for his daughter and I believe it. Thank you Steve! To start, he answers his phone and if on the rare occasion that you must leave a message, he returns the call ASAP. He shows up early. He is very methodical. He explains what he's doing and why. He answers questions. He suggest how you can maintain and upkeep your systems and appliances. He provides cautionary tells, such as, don't put your grill next to the house. He is very friendly and professional.

First of all, we are not intending to sell our home. However, it is 20 years old, and we decided that there might be problems that we did not recognize. Steve has a glowing record on Angie"s List and we were NOT disappointed. We told Steve, that we wanted him to look over the house and let us know if there were any problems, especially structural, that needed to be fixed ASAP; or that might develop into a big problem down the road. He arrived promptly at 9am and left after 12 noon. He was very thorough and set our mind at ease that there was nothing major. He looked at all the walls, ceilings, around the outside of the house, the attic and basement. The few small cracks in the basement wall were nothing to worry about. There were a few minor fixes such as adding a bit more insulation to the attic. He also gave us several tips, including a very clever way to monitor the size of a crack in the basement. His charges were very reasonable, considering that if he found the beginning of a major problem, fixing it sooner rather than later would be less expensive. We felt he was looking after our interests, and not trying to drum up business for any one else. He would recommend a type of service, such as a home insulation company, but did not recommend any specific provider. The only specific recommendation on that score was to check Angie's List! We would highly recommend Steve, especially if you are worried about that crack in the basement, or that spot on the ceiling. You will get a thorough, unbiased assessment and learn a few tips and tricks along the way.

The inspection went really well. He made it to the home before I got there and had already began the external inspection. He was extremely helpful and detailed in explaining what he was looking at and how to remedy or repair issues. He also provided a great deal of information regarding care for the home and appliances such as the furnace and water heater. My husband and I were very pleased with his professionalism and pleasant personality.

Steve did a very thorough inspection on the house. He has been very honest and tried to do his best to protect his customer. You should consider work with Steve if you are buying a home.

Steve was early and got started right away. He documents everything with pictures but likes to show and teach you as he is performing the inspection (this was a tremendous help in us knowing what things are important and what are just "upgrades.". This home was inspected barely a month before by another home inspector (it was disclosed to us because the sale had fallen through from another buyer). We had already negotiated quite a bit of things that needed repair. Steve caught several big ticket items the other inspector had missed and because of his thorough documentation, the repairs were negotiated and we are getting a new roof along with a new electrical panel, chimney flue and other items that would have cost us quite a bit. Overall I would recommend him to EVERYONE considering purchasing a home.

He is definitely your agent who not only reports problems he finds and explains them, he also approximates the extent of the problems and what might be done to correct them. All was documented in writing and photos. Also, he coordinated sewer and termite inspections and radon testing, which saved a great deal of time. Again, each company documented reports in writing and photos/DVD. In addition to all of this, he finished in record time so we could meet a deadline. I unreservedly recommend Steve McNamee to anyone who wants to sleep comfortably in a new house because it is safe, or rest comfortably because a poor investment was avoided.
