I can't say enough good things about Steve and his assistant. First off, Steve will have you rolling on the flood laughing - and that is a good thing. He takes the job of inspecting your house seriously, but he also makes sure that it's fun and enjoyable. Along the way be prepared for side stories, anecdotes and just an overall good time! He provides 5-star service in that he coordinates all the specialty inspections you may need as well. He managed to get the HVAC guy, Terminate inspector and sewer camera folks all lined up and there at the same time. That alone is an amazing task! Plus, he knows most of them and has worked with them - so you aren't getting just some regular run-of-the-mill guy, you are getting someone that Steve knows and trusts. Steve tells you the good, the bad and the "oh nooooooooooo!" about your house. If something is wrong, he points out how bad it is, and gives suggestions for ways to remediate it. If something is marginal, he tell you about it and gives suggestions on how to prolong the life or do a bit of TLC to bring it back up. Even if something is good he will give you a ton of tips about maintaining it over the life, things to watch out for as the years go by, and even show you a few tricks that even the most seasoned of us may not know (like how to find studs in a wall using a flashlight!) This was my first time using Steve, and I am so glad we did. I feel we are going into buying this house filled with knowledge we could not have gotten anywhere else. I recommend him highly, and if the opportunity every comes up again I know exactly who I am calling!

Steve and son-in-law Rich are very professional and detail oriented. They cover absolutely every inch of the property being inspected and include photo's with the written inspection. I like the fact of the buyer being included in the inspection as they point out anything that will be discussed, is, or could be a potential issue. Besides their professionalism a great sense of humor helps put the customer as ease during an arduous process.

My husband and I hired Steve to do a home inspection. He was extremely thorough and professional. He was prompt in his dealing with us, friendly and knowledgeable. We felt extremely comfortable that Steve knew exactly what he was doing and was giving us the best of his opinions and thoughts. When the first house contract fell through I had no hesitation to call Steve for the second inspection. I highly recommend Steve.

My agent said that, because this was a condo, the inspection would go very quickly. Wrong! Steve was there before me and did the most thorough inspection I could imagine. I learned a lot just listening to his comments and advice. Unfortunately, the deal fell through, but I will be calling Steve when we find the right place.

Inspection went great and Steve was fun to work with. However, he did not make the changes to the report in a timely manner and got in an unprofessional argument with my realtor because she called after 9pm. Then he emailed me complaining about my realtors behaviour.

Just as mentioned in other reviews, the inspection Steve performed was through. Our appointment was at 9 AM. Steve arrived earlier and started outside inspection at 8:45 AM as he noticed it may rain. He explained items to us along the way and also had a good sense of humor. We feel home inspection was not just a job for him, but he really enjoyed it and gave his true opinions about what was done right and what was not. He also gave his personal preferred ways of maintaining. We all learned a lot. We are lucky finding Steve. All the good things in the other reviews are true.

The process went very well. Steve McNamee was very thorough and has excellent interpersonal skill.. He broke the inspection into three phases: outside, first floor and basement. He sat down with us before starting and at the end each phase. Each phase review was accompanied with photos and he verbally went over what he had found. Before the day was over, we had a written punch list of his findings and a copy of the photos to back them up.

We are currently in the process of relocating from Northwest Indiana and to be honest I was dreading sitting there going through the home inspection. However, Steve made it quite fun and the time passed fairly quickly. He was very thorough and explain things in very simple terms. I would definitely hire Steve again for my home inspection needs.

Steve did a good job. He is professional and very punctual. Steve answers his phone almost every time you call or calls back in a very short time. This is the second time we used Steve as we backed out of our first contract after sellers refused to address big issues. Steve brought to our attention. We did receive a discount on our second inspection. I would highly recommend Homecheck Inspection Service. We also had a termite inspection arranged through Steve ($65 separate contractor) and Steve perform a Radon test. Thanks to Steve we did get some issues addressed on the final contract. Steve's report was emailed to me that same evening and was extremely detailed. The inspection paid for itself.

Steve was the home inspector for our first home! We don't have much expertise on houses since we have never been through this process before. I can say we came out of there with much more knowledge then before! He is very personable, funny, and made us feel very comfortable with our decisions! We had a lot of questions and they were all answered, and he didn't mind us asking questions about everything he said! Steve definitely made an overwhelming day much easier. I would recommend him to anyone :)

It went really well. The report he provided was even separated out into Defective, Nice to Have, etc. It really helped make negotiations for repairs easy on us.

Steve was phenomenal. He was extremely thorough and caught several things in the home that I would have overlooked. By far the best home inspector I have ever used.

Steve did a great job of inspecting our "hopefully" future home. He took care of also arranging a termite inspection. Steve and Co. took their time inspecting the home and were open to questions. They were prompt and pleasant to work with. I really enjoyed chatting with Steve and was impressed with the tools he used to inspect the home (i.e., using drones). I also thought his notes were thorough and detailed. Overall, I would be comfortable using Steve again in a future inspection.

Steve did a fantastic job. He spent 3.5 hours educating me about my potential new home and sent a very detailed report with recommendations. He also emailed the drone video of the roof.

He took the time to explain things as he went along and he is very well-spoken, funny, and personable. He sent me the completed home inspection report very promptly as well. His credentials are outstanding and he has a long history of home inspections (I believe he said 17 years). I would highly recommend him to anyone without any hesitation. Additionally, he recommended and scheduled my termite inspection, which was one less thing I needed to research and worry about. The termite inspection was very reasonably priced and I trust that Steve recommends and works closely with people that are highly skilled and reputable like he is. Inspector was very thorough and helpful through the entire process. He explained in great detail what we need to do to maintain certain things and what things we need to keep an eye on in the future. Great inspection.
