 + -1 moreSteve Heine responded promptly to my request for an estimate. He came to my house and looked it over and advised me on my options and sent the estimate promptly. He provided some addresses of jobs they had done that I could inspect, including a job that was in progress. I was impressed with how neat the tuckpointing was and that there was no brick damage from grinding out the old mortar. After I signed the contract, we agreed on a starting date. Don and Matt did most of the tuckpointing. The job looks really good. They were friendly and easy to get along with did everything we requested. The job was completed in less than 1 week.
Description of Work: Tuckpoint entire front wall of 2 story brick house including changing mortar color from black to red. Spot point the other 3 brick walls. Spot point the entire stone foundation.

 + -1 moreThey did a good job. They were there when they said they were going to be and they finished it up in a couple of days. It was all good. They didn't leave any mess at all so nobody had to clean anything up. They won the bid.
Description of Work: They did work for our subdivision. There's a brick facade at the entrance to the subdivision and they retuckpointed it. They redid the whole monument and put new mortar on the top of it so water doesn't seep down into it anymore.

Description of Work: June 2012Just joined Angie's List ( and was shocked to see this rating for one of our favorite contractors! We have used Heine Brothers for severallarge projects and have often wished they would expand to general contracting so we could hire them for everything we need done! Our house was built in 1934. For this 2001 project, we had a spout of water shooting through the (stone) basement wall during a hard rain.To repair, Heine Bros. dug out all the plants along that wall, dug completely down to the foundation, totally retucked all the stones, cemented over the entire foundation wall, then painted on a rubber buffer layer, filled all the soil back in, and from the inside of the basement, tuckpointed the stone basement wall from the inside! and painted it so it looked great. This was an enormous job and Steve and team did it with professionalism and did it quickly - and most importantly, we have never had any leakage, seepage, staining, etc. - it was a complete success! The price was certainly reasonable for the amount of work done!Prior to this project, in 2000 we had Heine Bros. tuckpoint our ENTIRE house, chimney to soil line, cost $8400, and they did an amazing job. 12 years later, there is no separation/cracking or deterioration of the tuckpointing. We also have Steve back every couple of years to caulk around the entire exterior base of our house where it meets the sidewalks. He does a great job at that, too.
