Absolutely phenomenal experience. We've had them out for a couple of jobs around the house and refer them as often as we can to others. Company owner and his wife are very engaged and eager to find solutions rather than telling us all the reasons why something cannot be done. Their team was efficient, clean, and always on time. Conversations were had before during and after the job and I truly appreciate everything they've done. We get so many compliments on the patio, seating wall, and driveway they did for us. Truly a stellar, customer focused contract company for any hardscapes jobs. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for any future jobs.
Description of Work: We needed an exposed aggregate patio covered, with seating wall, edging, and driveway tear out and expansion.

Owner is completely unprofessional, rude and obnoxious. Crew came to do back patio and used common ground area to remove debris. I asked owner to come look at job before concrete was poured and he went crazy on me. I greeted him when he arrived and he told me I was complainer and pain in the a$& and cussed at me. I asked him what he was talking about and he said I told his crew to use the common ground. Completely false and his crew should know better than to trespass. My kids saw him yelling at me from inside and had to get my husband bc the concrete guy was yelling at mom! So inappropriate on all levels. He threatened not to pour the concrete and stormed off cussing down the street yelling that I probably wasn’t going to pay him anyway. I was shocked and appalled. The concrete truck came quickly after and concrete was poured. Owner never came to even check out his job. They sent the landscaping foreman to collect final check and did the final clean up (would only do the final things I requested like clean up concrete pour over, nothing more). They never even went around house and checked the work. They left concrete chunks of concrete in my yard hidden under hay that weighed 50 lbs each (they did come and get those after 2 calls but didn’t get anything else). In fact there was a piece of metal next to the chunks they took but didn’t even bother to get the metal, skid marks from bobcat all over driveway (I’ve washed twice and can’t get marks off) they cracked my driveway which is a few years old in multiple spots (they filled one crack) but of course didn’t fix others. When I got the initial bid the owner said he wouldn’t use my back patio or driveway at all for equipment bc he would crack it. All in all shoddy work and even worse is the hot head owner. Would never recommend them! Lots of quality concrete companies with decent owners who don’t berate woman customers.

Anyone looking to have concrete jobs done BEWARE of STL Concrete and Landscaping or previously known as Soell Landscaping (John and Amanda Soell). They do shoddy work and are unreasonable to work with! I had a straightforward job of removing an old patio and pouring a new, enlarged patio. The new patio has such a steep sideways slope, 12 feet of it is completely unusable. They were shown where the wire for my landscape lighting was, and given PVC to run the wire through so I could rewire them (we lost the 1st in the chain of 4 lights to the extension of the patio, which we were aware of) and after the foreman agreed, they cut the wire and poured concrete on top of the bare, live wire, which trips the breaker to all of my outside lighting AND my kitchen lights! They made huge ruts in my yard with the skid steer and tried to charge us to fix them. They also broke the sidewalk, but did fix that, as I assume they don't want to tangle with the city. They are standing by the awful job, even after I have had several reputable contractors come out and look at it, and agreed that we should absolutely not pay for it. On top of all of this, the foreman told me there was fiber mesh in the mix, but then it came out that there was not, so he lied to me. No rebar, no reinforcement, nothing. In a recorded statement, they said that it is not their job to educate the consumer on what is standard in the industry for workmanship, or reinforcement, and because I didn't "ask" for rebar or mesh, it wasn't included in the price. However, all other contractors use some form of reinforcement. I gave them several opportunities to refund, which they originally agreed to, but wanted me to sign an agreement with absurd caveats, which I refused.
Description of Work: Patio tear out, and larger patio poured
