Jeff Stuart, the owner of Second Opinion Tree Service, is very talented at what he does. Climbing huge trees and dropping branches exactly where intended is precisioned, difficult work. Jeff makes it look easy. He's friendly and responsive. I'd recommend him and his service to anyone. I've used other tree trimming services in the past, and he's by FAR the best. His prices are competitive also.
Description of Work: Trimmed large trees as requested. Clean up.

I have asked for a bid on taking down a dead 30 ft tall elm tree and two cedar trees that had half fallen down due to a storm. His bed was $1000 which is the same as the other company that I asked. I was unfortunately very turned off by his attitude. He came right on time but as he walked up to the property, he saw my contractors for my house. He asked if they were other tree guys or else he would leave. Once he determined they were not tree guys, he went on to tell me he could do tree removal, shredding the trees etc but with little forethought for how he could do it with his equipment. The other tree guy said that there was no way he could take his shredder down the hill given the tight constraint of the building, hill side and my septic drain fill where no vehicle can be driven onto. I found the owner very pushy and a definite turn off. I did not give him the job based on his personality alone. That is not to say that he would do a bad job since I did not offer him the job.
Description of Work: I just got an estimate.

They hauled the cut down trees off. I spent $450 on that service. They did a good job and I don’t have any complaints. They brought their bob cat in and put ruts in our neighbor’s yard and I was going to call and tell them, but I just haven’t. I would probably use them again in the future. I am sure they would have solved the problem if I called.
Description of Work: I used Second Opinion Tree Service, probably a month ago and he cut down a tree that died in the backyard and trimmed a couple others that needed it.

Wind storm blew down about one third of a large tree in the front of our home. It fell into the yard, not on the house or into the street. Nevertheless, Jeff came out within two days, put tall ladder into the tree, nicely cut at the appropriate angle, and sealed so bugs could not easily enter. He said many people would have immediately recommended cutting the entire tree down, but he showed me pictures of other similar situations where he had saved the tree. He also said that it could always be cut down later if it dies. After talking with friends who have used tree services before and comparing the job, I had estimated that my job would have cost about $400 to $500, so I was very pleased when he said $150. Jeff (owner) and his co-worker both came to the job, and did a great job of clean-up and haul away. I was impressed with their attention to safety. In short, I was very impressed with the total job.

It took them a full day to do this work. I went with them because they were the lowest price for this service. They did a good job cleaning up when they were finished. The people were nice and worked quickly. Once they cut down the tree, they did cut it all up for me, so I could use it as firewood. I thought that was nice.
Description of Work: I had them cut down several trees in my yard. There were two Mulberry trees; one was about 60 feet tall and the other one was around 45 feet. They also cut down one more tree that was about 80 feet tall.
