Lumber Liquidators was great to work with. The flooring was reasonably priced, they scheduled the installation, and I was able to finance my purchase for 0% for 24 months!

Installation was horrible. Work in the basement created so much dust the entire home was covered in new a layer of dust and as mentioned above, the basement flooring is now ruined.
Description of Work: Replaced carpeting in our home with hardwood flooring. 6 months later, the flooring in the basement is lifting up due to poor installation (inadequate clearance left for expansion)

Okay, let's start with the good: they have a wide variety of flooring available at a range of decent (not stellar, but decent) prices. If you want something good, you can find it. Now for the bad: they constantly "upcharge" you. CONSTANTLY. I was told that removal of carpets was $.25/square foot. I then paid $25 fee for measurements to get a bid. On the bid, I was being charged $.62/square foot for removal of carpets. I called them. I told them I'd do the work myself (and I did--paying myself a cool $100/hour). They revised the bid without the removal of the carpets, and I agreed to the bid. I paid for the work. And then I get a phone call. I'd need to pay for the delivery, cash only. How much? $250 if I have the installer do it--more if the store does it. (I kid you not.) I paid this. Then I get another phone call. They needed another $115. They didn't know why. Tax differences, I was told by the store in Fenton (I purchased at the St. Peters store). I called the St. Peters store. No, not tax differences at all! Instead, it's extra materials for the install. Which somehow had been left off of the original estimate and bid that I paid $25 for. I was livid, but I paid it. Well, I just got another call this morning, to the tune of another $198 needed. This time it was "glue and nails." The guy on the phone, Tory, tried to tell me that it was because they were working off an "estimate", but I have news for you: a bid is a bid. I paid money for your guy to come out and give a bid for the work. He gave that bid. And now, so far, I have had the following surprises: $370 additional for carpet removal, $250 for delivery, $115 for "stuff they forgot", and $198 for glue and nails. Yep. You read that right. Over $900 of "surprises." Yeah, they'll give you a document that you have to sign at some point that says they can't charge you more without your approval in writing. You may as well burn that paper because they do not honor it (Tory seemed confused when I mentioned it). And they're not about to do anything about it--he even tried to argue with me about the fact that they hadn't suprised me. So, here's the lesson: They do NOT install for $2.79/square foot. At this point, I'm up to $4.91/square foot. And if they had been honest up front (which they most certainly are NOT), I would have happily paid ANYONE else to do the install. So. Sure, buy your floor from them, and then RUN, RUN FAR AWAY. And have someone legit do the actual work.
Description of Work: Installed 957 square foot of Bella hardwood flooring (ash).

Description of Work: Within 1 month of having a new vinyl click flooring put in, parts of the flooring began to crack and buckle. I have filed with Lumber's home service and customer service to no avail. I have also filed with the attorney general and BBB. Please be careful if referring customers to either of these providers.

After researching several flooring options and providers, including the big box companies and small privately owned flooring companies, I found the best product and price for what I wanted at Lumber Liquidators. I purchased solid Brazilian Chestnut hardwood floors which arrived in less than 2 weeks. Originally we were planning to install them ourselves and decided that, due to an impending move-in, we did not have time. Therefore, at the last minute I called Lumber Liquidators and they arranged for the floors to be installed. They hooked me up with Steve's Flooring for the installation. After setting up a time for the installation, a week later I called again and asked if I could move up the installation date. Steve's Flooring went out of their way to accommodated my request. I do not have anything bad to say about Lumber Liquidators or Steve's Flooring. They salesmen and installers were friendly and helpful and everything was done professionally and in a timely manner. I would not hesitate using either of them again.

They had stranded bamboo that I was excited about. They educated me so well. They just have great products. The price was good, much better than the big box stores. It's gorgeous. Everybody that walks in, the first thing they say is, "Oh, my God. I love your floors." It goes perfect with everything I've got.
Description of Work: They put down new flooring in the entire house, which is a two storied building.

They were spectacular. They thought it was going to come in mid July and they shipped it to a store so I could get my product. They talked to the manager at the store and he located the amount of material we needed and he shipped it at his store so we could get it from there. It took them 3 days.

About 2 years ago the floor finish began to crack and peel off. I contacted Lumber Liquidators and filed a warranty claim based on the fact that they advertise so clearly a 50 year warranty. To start off they said that if they had to pay anything for our claim that it would only amount to a STORE CREDIT for the MATERIAL ONLY. Next they sent out an inspector to examine our floor. The overall feeling of the inspector was that he wasn't really sure why the floor finish was peeling. Finally we received a letter saying that the moisture of the floor wasn't within Normal range, there was too much sunlight, and the nail pattern wasn't exactly what they specified. They said the peeling was caused by too much sunlight and moisture below the floor and that it wasn't a problem with the wood itself and they weren't going to do anything about it. Our house has very normal conditions of any house. Also, should their flooring only be installed in dark areas? The customer service was horrible!
Description of Work: We purchased and installed Bellawood Australian Cypress Hardwood floor in our house in 2007 from Lumber Liquidators. I worked for a hardwood flooring company part time so I decided to install the wood flooring myself considering I had knowledge of floor installation.

We placed an online order and opened a line of credit to get the interest-free financing. I somehow chose to ship it to the wrong store, but their customer service team was able to fix that. This location had enough of the flooring we ordered in stock, however the employees told us that it was not all in great shape and they offered us the same wood in wider planks for the same price. We accepted this offer and got an even more expensive floor for a very good price. We installed the floor on our own.
Description of Work: We bought about 700 sq ft of hardwood flooring. We probably visited the store 4-5 times before we decided on what we wanted. The employees were always nice and helpful with all of our questions.

My experience with them went very well. I have no complaints. One thing I did like is that I changed my mind and they allowed me to change my mind with no re-stacking fee and they took care of it right away. I appreciated that.

We attended one of Lumber Liquidators free installation classes and quickly decided to pay a professional installer. The installer came to our house and gave us a list of materials we needed. I emailed the list to Lumber Liquidators and they called when ready. We decided to pick the order up ourselves instead of delivery. They had our order ready and helped load our truck.Their prices are considereably lower than the other retailers we checked and they had no hidden charges.

I was pleased with the deal I got, and was able to successfully install the flooring with their advice and a little research on the internet.
Description of Work: This company sells hardwood flooring, often at a discount. They also have installers, but they were able to give me the advice I needed to do it myself.
