We ended up not doing the work because of budget issues. They were wonderful. They were very prompt and very thorough. They were really good on the estimate. They showed up on time.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from Atlas Foundation Solutions for wet basement issues and the concrete on the front porch was sinking.

It went excellent overall. They arrived when they said they would, were friendly, professional & informative, finished in no time at all & cleaned up after themselves. In addition, they noticed some holes& erosion in the back yard & instead of hauling off the leftover dirt from the excavation, they filled in the holes. It was like 100 degrees that day.

A+, exceeded my expectation. Mike (owner) was out in a few days after my call, assessed the situation and provided a thorough recommedation. His crew was out the next week, on time, completed the work, explained how the equipment works, and cleaned up after themselves. Painless experience - I would definitely use them again.

Everything went smoothly and efficiently and I am very satisfied with the work performed.
Description of Work: INSTALLATION OF SUMP PUMP. For years I had experienced water leakage at the front corner of my basement during heavy rains. This was the only area with the problem. The owner himself came to inspect the area and recommended a Sump Pump be installed in the corner with appropriate drainage along a portion of both walls. He did not try to sell me the entire basement. The work crew was a bit tardy, but explained that they had to go finish up the job from the prior day. They worked efficiently and were courteous. They did a great job re-concreteing the floor. They ran the discharge to the outside and buried it all the way to the back yard instead of just dumping it outside. They also ran electric for the pump all they way to the circuit breaker box (opposite corner) and installed a dedicated breaker for the pump rather than just plugging into a nearby outlet. When finished they explained everything and cleaned up completely. After several heavy rains there has not been any water entry onto the floor. I would definitely hire them again.

I called Atlas to get a bid on my basement waterproofing in April of 2012. Mike from Atlas stopped by and spent some time with me explaining what my basement needed and why he thought drain tile and a sump pump would fix my water issues. He was very informative and professional and I was comfortable asking questions regarding his suggestions. I decided to go with Atlas to do the work in my basement because they were reasonably priced and in my opinion trustworthy. Mike was not trying to sell me anything that I did not need. Once the team arrived at my house to install the basement waterproofing system, I was impressed at how professional they were. They were on time and within that first day they were able to finish up. Thanks again Atlas for all your help?

Overall, it was a great learning experience.
Description of Work: Mike, the owner, represented his company in a very professional manner. He spent some time analyzing the issues I was having with water in my finished basement. I had several cracks in the walls, but he determined this was not the main cause of my water problems. Hydro static pressure was the issue as to why water was soaking my carpet. The fix to this problem was Mike installed an interior drain system to allow for the overflow of water from the area between the wall and floor to run off and empty into the sump pump. He filled all noticeable cracks. Also, he modified the situation where a portion of my foundation was leaning in about 1/2". The method he used will sustain the wall from any additional movement. All of this work came with a 20 year Transferable Warranty. The crew was very thoughtful and punctional. Great job.

Mike came out to give me an estimate. Everyone was very professional and they were just great to work with. Overall experience was just great. Result was that the area just had a horrible rain storm and my basement was completely dry. I have been told by alot of people what to do with my basement and I will tell you that Mike was very honest with me. He did not add additional work that was not necessary. He told me this solution would work and he was absolutely correct. Thank you Mike and the entire Atlas crew !!!!!!!

We are sorry there was a delay in getting the proposal to you. This was due to the substantial amount of calls and jobs we are currently working on. The proposal was emailed and mailed to you on Monday, April 30th. I was unaware of the phone calls and will speak with my office manager about those. If you should have any further questions or concerns, please call the office at 636-677-7400. Again, sorry for the confusion and we hope to hear from you. Thank you.

We used Angie's list to identify several companies to contact. Mike, the owner of Atlas Foundation Solutions came out to provide an estimate. We appreciated that Mike took the time to explain things and to work out an affordable solution with us. The crack repair team of two workers came out and were on time. They were very professional. The lead explained what they were going to do and kept me informed on their progress. He also showed me the crack after they had removed the dry wall. The work took about four hours. They did a good job of cleaning up the area after they were done. I delayed my review until we had a couple saturating rains. Not only doesn't it leak anymore but the humidity in the basement is gone. We have not run the dehumidifier since the crack was sealed over a month ago. We are very pleased with the work. It was a three man team that did the mudjacking of the old porch foundation. They arrived on time and were done by mid-afternoon (approximately 6.5 hours). The crew was very professional. The crew chief explained the work they would be doing and kept me informed as they progressed. Mike, the owner stopped by after a couple of hours to both check on his crew's progress and to review with me over what was being done as it was unique problem we had. Once the crew was done, the crew lead showed me what was done. The crew did a very good job of cleaning up. We are pleased with the work that was done. We were pleased with work on both jobs. We would be very comfortable recommending Atlas Foundations to anyone needing foundation work. We would definitely use Atlas Foundations again for any future foundation work.
Description of Work: We had two foundation issues. First, we had a crack in the original foundation that would leaked any time it rained. When it was a long saturating rain, leak would be considerable. Part of the crack extended behind dry wall. We have a dehumidifier running all the time even without rain, there was humidity in the basement. Our second issue, had to do with the foundation of a large addition to our house. The previous owner had added a large family room and then a master bedroom and master bathroom. Under the bedroom, the original concrete porch was covered and main floor joist rested on porch slab. The problem was the porch foundation sides had subsided and separated from the top slab. There was over 8 - 10 inches separating the support wall and slab. If the slab broke, the main floor joist would drop and do considerable damage to the master bedroom and surrounding parts of the house. Mike, the owner came out and provided the estimate for both jobs. The crack estimate was a straight forward $300.00. Mike explain ed their whole process for fixing the crack. Mike was up front that their crew would remove the dry wall but not replace it. This was not a problem for us as the base boards and drywall needed to be replaced due to the water damage of the leak. Mike explained that the two jobs would be worked by different crews. Mike did a thorough review of all the foundation walls both for the original basement and foundation of the addition. He saw no other problems. Mike explained several options for the issue with the addition with emphasis on an affordable solution for us. We opted for mudjacking under the slab and adding addition shims around the slab and floor joist. Also, addition dirt was put in the crawl space after the primary repair was done. We accepted the proposal to mudjack under the old porch slab to provide support and eliminating the risk of the slab breaking. The estimate was for $1500.00. The total estimate for both jobs was $1800.00. The final cost was $1750.00, thanks to a $50.00 coupon for Angie's list members.

The owner came out and gave us a reasonable estimate for the work, I thought. The scheduler then called to make the appointment, and the crew showed up on time for the job. They completed the work in just a couple hours. I'm very happy that I don't have to worry about the foundation on that corner of my house anymore.
Description of Work: Atlas pumped a concrete-like mixture under my porch, which had been washed away due to the previous owner's lack of functional roof drainage. They filled the gap under the concrete porch to secure it and prevent it from caving.

The owner of the company came to introduce the person who would work in our home. When he saw the wall needing repair, he reduced the cost of his over the phone ballpark estimate. They cleaned up after themselves and appeared to be very professional and friendly. We have had a lot of rain recently, and our basement is dry. We also got an estimate for some other work. When I told the owner his estimate was higher than another estimate, he lowered the price to meet the other estimate. I would use this company again. Thanks Atlas.
Description of Work: We have a split foyer home and we had a basement half wall with two cracks, one was leaking. They repaired both cracks and returned to smooth out the wall. Once we painted the wall, the repair was barely noticable.

Atlas sent a representative to inspect the foundation and recommend a solution. Dean arrived on time for the appointment and went right to work inspecting, asking questions and walking around the property checking the soil. He spent a good amount of time probing the soil around the foundation and checking the structure of the house. After he completed his inspection, he sat down with my wife and I and explained the problem we had, and the solution. A few days later we received a quote for $7200,including clean-up of the property. In the meantime we had received another quote from a different company for $22,000. and we would have to do the clean-up of replacing all the brickwork on our patio. Because there was such a discrepancy in prices, we asked Dean to come out and explain his process once again. He came out a couple of days later and went in to more detail of how Atlas would solve the problem. He showed us the piers they would use and how they were designed to do the job. We could tell he had been in this line of work a long time and was proud of Atlas and the work they did. We decided to go with Atlas and signed a contract with a deposit. In about 10 days, Atlas had a crew out to our house and ready to go. They were polite and anxious to get to work. I was impressed with two things. They were well prepared. There were no surprises, Dean had versed them on what to expect and they were ready. The second thing that impressed me was how they worked as a team. Everyman seemed to jump in and do his share , doing the job right was the #1 goal. The job and cleanup was completed in 2 days. The patio and house never looked better. I would definitely recommend Atlas to anyone that needs foundation repair done on their house.

Dean Daugherty came out to give us an estimate. He was very personable and knowledgeable. After getting several estimates from other companies we decided to go with Atlas based on the estimate and good reports from Angie's List and the BBB. It's difficult to comment on the quality of the work as we really won't know right away. I will say that I was happy to see the large cracks in the wall of the affected room close significantly when it was lifted to optimal elevation. The men who showed up to do the piering work were prompt, quiet (as quiet as one can be when operating heavy equipment) and worked very hard the entire time they were on the property. They put tarps on the ground prior to excavating. This was much appreciated as it saved us from having to deal with a muddy mess after the work was completed. They guy in charge of the work crew listened to us when we asked questions or voiced concerns. Jake, the office manager, was very professional whenever we called with questions prior to during and after the whole process. I gave this company a B due to issues with communication between the office and the work crew. The work crew did not seem to be aware of all work specified in the contract. The contract specifically stated that Atlas would investigate and replace as necessary the vertical section of the cast iron downspout drain pipe within the excavation for Pier #3. When I went out to ask about this, the work crew had no knowledge of this and would not have investigated this drain pipe had I not asked. We were told we would not need to be home during the two days the work was being performed. My partner and I decided of our own accord that at least one of us would be home during this process. A member of the work crew did need access to the house in order to determine if the affected room was level while being elevated. If we had not been home I'm not sure how this would have been done. Lastly, the contract specified that exposed steel rebars of the concrete piles would be sealed with zinc rich paint to deter oxidation.. The crew had no knowledge of this. When I showed them the contract and pointed this out they did apply paint to the exposed rebar. This is an update. I've now dropped my overall grade of this company to a C. Shortly after the concrete was poured in November cracks formed in two areas. In March we contacted Atlas about the cracks. The owner came out looked at the area and said that they would repour the sidewalk. We said it was okay if they just fit us in when they could. Weeks went by and we didn't hear anything from them. We called and they told us they were really busy but they had not forgotten about us and that they'd be by the next week. We didn't see them the next week or the next or the next. We made another phone call to them and got the same story with similar outcome. Just a word of advice for Atlas. Promptness when doing service recovery goes a long way. It's true we did say you could fit us in when you could but we didn't realize that the wait might be three months or longer. Finally we told Atlas we were tired of waiting and insisted they finish the job right away. They then called to inform us that they'd be out the next day or the day after. The concrete was repoured two days later and so far no new cracks have formed. Again lack of communication was an issue. I think if we had received a phone call or two at some point apologizing for the delay in getting to the concrete repour we might have formed a more favorable opinion of Atlas.
Description of Work: Removed a section of the rear concrete walk measuring approximately 19'X3'. Installed 3 helical steel piers beneath the existing concrete piles along the rear edge of the sunroom addition to our house. Lifted the sunroom addition to an optimal elevation. All excavations were backfilled to grade and then the 19' X 13' section of the rear side walk was re-poured, edged and troweled. The exposed steel rebars of the existing concrete piles under the sunroom addition were sealed with zinc-rich paint and modified cement slurry was sponge-floated over the exterior of the piles to fill existing fractures. All affected areas were cleaned up after work was completed. Permits were obtained and fees are included in the cost of the work.

It went great. Mike (owner) came out and game us a great bid in a reasonable amount of time. Received our proposal within a reasonable amount of time. Scheduled the work to be performed within a week of the bid. The work was done professionally, and the employee was professional and friendly as well. No dust or debris left behind. Very pleased.
Description of Work: We had three cracks in our basement (100 y/o house) that were repaired. One that actively leaked water on a regular basis, and the two other were much less active. We went with the epoxy injection.

Mike came out soon after I called and discussed the two different issues I was having, and proposed what seems like a very reasonable price to fix both problems. I received the formal proposal by email in the next day or two. After the holiday break, I called the office and talked to Jake, who scheduled the service for a few days later. On the day of the appointment, Ben arrived within a few minutes of the promised time and took care of the problems neatly and quickly. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Although it hasn't rained yet to test the repair, I couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: Repaired a long crack in my basement, about 5 ft. long, maybe 1/2 inch wide. The crack has been there for years and leaking water when it rains. They cleaned out the crack, applied sealant inside and out (exposed portion only) and injected epoxy into the crack to seal it. Also caulked a gap between my outside stairwell and the foundation, and patched a crack outside. The company provided a 20 year warranty on the sealed crack.

The team did outstanding work with immediate, positive results. Cracks that were forming in the porch and interior walls of our home instantly disappeared. After a couple of recent heavy rains, there was no buildup of water around the foundation and no water in the basement, which had happened occasionally before this work was done. Mike was able to work into our preferred schedule and made the team available within days of signing the contract. He was quick to answer all of my questions and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Atlas for this type of work!
Description of Work: Our front porch was sinking and very gradually pulling away from the house. Mike assessed the situation very quickly and clearly, identified a couple of options for repair and suggested the most cost-effective option. He and his team installed two piers to raise and stabilize the front of the porch, mudjacked beneath the porch, leveled the porch and sidewalk, and installed new downspouts which extend into the yard to address drainage issues and move water away from the foundation.

When I knew this has to be completed I contacted three companies, one of which was Atlas. The other two were PermaJack and Heliotech. Both of those companies are good, but the reviews on Angie's list were better. Once we met with Mike we knew who we were going to go with.
Description of Work: I contracted Atlas to repair my front porch. It had started separating from the main part of the house. Atlas came in and placed six piers to the foundation of the porch and it is as good as new! The porch for all intents and purposes went back together like a puzzle. It was amazing. The men that came were all quiet, respectful, and clean. The work site was kept as clean and neat as possible. All in all....a very good experience. I would give them an excellent review anytime!

I rarely ever give a universal high rating but in this case I believe that is the most accurate assessment. I was able to contact someone on the first call and arrange for an estimate later that week. Mike, the owner showed up right on time and quickly assessed the problem. He explained to me how I could solve the issue myself but I wasn't able to get to it in time so I asked that Atlas do it. Even though it was a small job Atlas still provided a contract and we arranged the work within a couple of days of my signing the contract. Again, they arrived on time and did good work.
Description of Work: We had been experiencing water in our basement and after reading reviews here on Angie's List we called Atlas and arranged for an estimate. It turned out the water was entering through poor seals and holes in the brick fascia on the front of the house and it had nothing to do with our foundation. Atlas resealed the fascia, filled the holes, and even epoxied a couple of loose bricks. This job didn't necessarily fit one of their core business activities but it didn't keep them from doing the job.

Mike was great to work with. Upon the initial visit, he suggested only 2 walls needed the drainage system (we decided on 3 to have all the mess done at once with no chance of leaks along the other wall in the future). I appreciated his honesty. He also spent an extensive amount of time inspecting our foundation and basement (at my request) and recommended that no foundation repair was needed. He did suggest fixing our exterior drain. The estimate was very well worded and descriptive. Mike and his crew showed up on time and completed the work in 1 day. They helped cover items with plastic we'd moved to the middle of the basement. They also helped with taking out an old concrete laundry sink. I was surprised at how smoothly they'd installed the exterior drain pipe of the sump pump in our front yard (very little disruption to the landscaping). Sure enough, we had torrential storms the week following and the basement was super dry and water was exiting the sump pump drain pipe. What a relief to not have water in the basement anymore! Mike was always prompt at returning calls and emails and even came by before the project started to clarify which items needed to be moved from the basement.

I decided to go with Atlas as the owner seemed more confident and helpful over the phone. His was not the lowest bidder. The worker arrived on time. I have a finished basement and noticed that the worker did not have covers for his shoes. I mentioned this to the owner after the visit. The only real problem i saw was that when he finished working on the inside he failed to fill the crack above the window. Appartently he simply failed to see it. When it told him he went back in to finish it. All in all it ws a workman like job and looked good after it was dried and smoothed down. Thw worker said he would send me a receipt for my payment as soon as he returned to the office that day. However he failed to do that and i had to call the owner two days later. The receipt was then sent immediately.

A corner of my brick front porch had sunk slightly so I called for three bids. The first bid was for three piers and was cost-prohibitive. After that I had a tuckpointer come by to look at it and he recommended I only ask for 1 pier, which he said was all I needed. When Mike of Atlas showed up he said the same thing and was very concise with what he would do. He explained the problem, how he would take care of it, and gave me an approximate cost. After delays caused by the weather his team came out and dug the hole and took care of the problem. The next day the hole was filled in and my neighbors even commented that it looked like no one had been there. I was very happy with Mike's professionalism and the quality of their work. Time will tell if the pier is working, but I have faith in Mike and his team and would use them again. Foundation work can be a scary and expensive process, but Atlas helped ease my mind and didn't empty my bank account either.
