Had this done late last year but didn't want to report until it was "tested" by wet spring weather. Though we have had a ton of rain this spring, no leaks to date.
Description of Work: Had 5 foot long crack in foundation that leaked during heavy rains.
I would grade them an A overall. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I used Atlas Foundation Solutions LLC. They finished the work yesterday. They installed interior drainage system of sump pump. They re graded the lawn, took out the sidewalk and removed the window and sealed that. They removed the sidewalks and redid that.

The workers showed up on time ready to work very profosinal They got the job done in about 6 hours. After I payed they had the lein waivers on hand. Very happy and my house is fixed they were able to lift my house to level it was trully amazing.
Description of Work: I live in a tri-level home and the area under my front porch needed piering. Atlas came out and was the only company that said the job only required 2 piers 2 other companies quoted me for 3 piers. I went with Atlas beacuse of the price about 1k cheaper than my other lowest bid and they are the only company that would gaurentee lift.

In the midst of a total renovation of the basement consistent leakage appeared along the driveway wall...after having several suggestions from plumber and contractor and trying several suggested fixes, nothing worked. I found Atlas on Angie's list and they sent someone out the next day....he walked through the basement and immediately identified what was happening, thoroughly explained everything and determined what the fix was (install drain along the wall and sump pump). Left a detailed quote..no pressure. Three days later the work was done. Very competent crew..they came in did the work, cleaned up, and were done. And...no further leakage! Finished laying the floor in the "family room" and everything is good. I would highly recommend.

He came to look at the problem and give me an estimate. When he was here, in passing I mentioned that I had been trying to have a landscaping project done but that I hadn't found anyone to do that project. He told me knew a guy who could do it and I told him at this point I was not interested in doing that project. I decided I would like to use him for the water problem and he faxed me a contract. I signed the contract and faxed it back to him with 1 minor change. I added that if his solution did not resolve the water problem, I wanted the money I paid to go towards another effort to repair the problem. He said his products were warrantied, but my concern was the problem being solved. He told me he was going to come out and look at the problem, so I assumed he was talking about the water problem. I called today to see where he was and he went off on me saying that I was wasting he and his friends time by not doing the outdoor project. I had told him in a fax that I had a handyman coming at 3pm, he got very upset saying that I never told him this. I was telling him that the handyman was doing the job I had called him for, I had just told him this due to scheduling. He told me that I wasn't lucid and that I was crazy. He also hung up on me. All this man saw was money when he heard I had several projects. All he was interested in was making more money. He couldn't just come out and do the $1,000 waterproofing job and go from there. He was greedy and wanted to hire him for all of the projects. He continued to tell me that I had told him I would hire him for the outdoor job as well. It doesn't make since. He is a waterproofing guy, the outdoor project is a retaining wall, why would I promise to hire him for a job out of his expertise that I am not interested in until the spring? I made it very clear to him from the beginning that I was not interested in doing the retaining wall this year. ALL THAT I WANTED DONE WAS THE WATERPROOFING. I am going to send him a fax stating that if he doesn't contact me by 12pm central time on 9/16/10 that the contract I signed is null in void.

Dean Daugherty, the salesman for Atlas Foundation, came out promptly and spent a good deal of time explaining and discussing the various options we had for our home repair. He got back to us very quickly with an estimate, which we accepted. My husband had already begun excavation and when we notified them that we were ready for them to come out, they were here within two days. They were very considerate about working us into their schedule, because they knew the amount of excavation that had already been done, and they were interested in helping us keep the foundation out of the weather. Mike is the owner, his crew was very professional, and their track hoe operator is the best. They completed the last 24 feet of excavation for us. When we expressed a little disappointment after the first day, because the yard was taking a bit of a beating in areas near the dig, Mike made sure they put down plywood the second day. The entire crew worked extremely hard and all aspects of the contract were met, except one. Dean had promised that the foundation topsoil would be separated from the foundation rock and put in separate piles. In reality, the trench was dug and refilled with the same soil, so we did have to spend some time removing rock from the surface before replacing the grass. Overall, this is a company I would hire again in a minute, even though I hope I never have to. He offers a coupon here on Angie's list and you should make sure to use it... he told me I was the first one ever to use it! Our basement has been bone dry since the work, and the twenty year, transferable guarantee is very comforting.
Description of Work: Completed excavation to expose the home's foundation, applied rubber coating, sheet drain, perforated and solid drain piping , install drain field and two gravity drains. Also excavated a swale to prevent water from running toward the house.

Service: Friendly, well-communicative, willing to address questions, comments and/or concerns ... I even fed the guys lunch consisting of Bratwurst Project: Up to expectation, but bummed that polymer-type mortar was not used which according to research I conducted was higher-grade and better material for exterior project (resistance to weather and the elements, less deterioration) Additional Notes: I gathered multiple bids and these guys were the only ones with prompt attention and willingness to hear out my ideas and thoughts. They listened to me, we agreed on a course of action and followed through. I thought the price was fair, why else would I have chose them? For the work that was done I was really satisfied. It has been 6 months later and I'm now submitting this report because I like to give things time. There has been some hydrostatic pressure forcing water in my basement just making the concrete damp, but nothing like gentle flowing streams out of my foundation walls prior and ponds of water spreading across the floor. I actually called Atlas foundation on the issue. They came out next day to look at the problem, ensure there work was well in place, and offered an additional solution. Very responsive. Though I haven't followed up since then, I was very satisfied that they were concerned as to the work they performed and wanted to make sure it was right. I highly recommend, and please mention my story ... if they say who referenced, just say the guy who fed your crew a slew of bratwursts.
Description of Work: Problem: - South-side foundation was leaking badly and needed to be addressed. Work performed: - Dug a trench adjacent to the exterior south-side foundation beyond the footer. - Scraped and cleaned the exterior foundation wall of dirt and poor mortar. - Re-mortared exterior wall with regular mortar (yet polymer mortar was initially promised ... ) - Mortar was flamed torched - Upon dry mortar black sticky sealant was applied to wall ... good thick stuff - Geotextile material was wrapped from the bottom of the trench along the "dirt wall" - Outside sewer lateral was tapped and conjoined with bi-lateral connector - The two connector system into the sewer lateral allowed for the following: French drain system below the footer Plastic piping properly graded from gutter downspout off the roof - With pipes in place, brown river stone (like you find in the Meramec) was poured into hole - Geotextile material was wrapped over the stone making a 'C' against the foundation wall - More brown river stone was then poured over the geotextile Project complete

The person who came gave me another solution that I did not have to use him for and it worked. He told me another way to handle my water problem without going in for extensive repairs. I did what he said and it worked. He saved me $3300. He was great. He told me to get a bigger gutter and downspout. I did that and my water problems were solved. He did not do the gutter work; he recommended me to someone else. He did not make a dime out of it. I will use him in the future. My son used him and said that he did wonderful work.

It turned out fairly well. They didn't call before they dug and I had to call. They said that with the depth they didn't see it as a problem and they cut the cable line for the internet. They denied that they did it and we had to get the cable company out to repair it. They kept denying and denying and showed us what they thought was the internet line and it ended being the satellite cable. I spoke with one of their engineers and he got upset that we said that his guys cut the cable line. I didn't appreciate being called a liar. Come to find out it was cut by them and they took the cable bill and finally agreed to pay it after it was determined that they were the ones that cut it. They had to end up coming back out because they stopped the drainage too short from the curb, so I had to call the manager and have them come back to see how it was drawn in the drawings. They finished on time and the clean up was good. We hope that everything was done correctly; I won't be able to tell until the winter. The price was pretty good.

It was a very good experience. I was very impressed with Dean's knowledge of foundation issues. He showed up to do a walk-through and come up with a plan and estimate when he said he would. The work was done very professionally by Mike and his crew. The job site was cleaned up; the window wells, downspouts and swale all look like they'll do what they're supposed to. Dealing with this company was very easy and I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Tied together several downspouts and my sump pump discharge pipe, and rerouted the water discharge and runoff into a new swale to get water away from the foundation. Also, added some window wells.

Dean Daugherty clearly understands foundations. He was able to identify the source of the water leak, recommend procedures that would both stabilize the wall and prevent water from getting in without having to resort to a drain tile system.
Description of Work: They put in two types of anchors to stabilize one wall, fixed 3 large cracks by injecting epoxy. They also in put in 2 pier anchors under the addition to lift it back up and stabilize it.

When Dean first walked into my basement, I showed him my largest crack. He immediately turned and pointed out the other cracks in my basement - one of which I had never noticed before. He explained the physics of the cracking process and talked to me in detail about the causes of my problems, and the ways he would go about repairing them. He also told me what I needed to do to my gutters and my roof to prevent further problems. The work was done promptly and neatly. It took about a day and a half. Dean even brought the gutter guards he had told me about, and one of the workmen installed them for me. I would definitely have HomeWorks Foundation Repair deal with any foundation issues I have in the future.

Dean was recommended strongly by an architect friend and an engineer. From the start, Dean was very courteous and prompt. He was swamped at the time we contracted due to the regional drought. As we waited for project start, Dean kept in contact with updates. Once he got to us, the crew was professional, prompt and courteous. They found a problem with our sewer main during the project and coordinated with a plumber to address the problem while the yard was already dug up. Their work was great and they left the house exactly the way they described at the end of the project. We know why the company came highly recommended and would not hesitate to use Dean again, although we hope we never have cause to do so!

THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS AT THE BEGINNING, BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SEEMED TO TAKE A DOWNHILL TURN WHEN WE MENTIONED POSSIBLE WARRANTY WORK.
Description of Work: WE PURCHASED A HOUSE WHERE ATLAS HAD DONE EXTENSIVE WORK IN THE BASEMENT. ALTHOUGH IT BECAME APPARENT OUR TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY HAD BEEN VOIDED BY THE PREVIOUS OCCUPANT, WE STILL WANTED THEM TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE LEAKING BASEMENT AND PROPOSE A SOLUTION. THEY SAID THEY WERE BUSY. WHEN I SAID THAT WAS FINE AND THAT I WAS WILLING TO WAIT, THEY SAID THEY WERE REALLY BUSY.
