Warranty work after a new roof was put on and we continued to have interior water damage three years later. At this time, American Roofing took care of most of the interior damage, but it was a VERY LONG and DRAWN-OUT PROCESS!!!! We were told the gutters had been cleaned and screened around the entire house. This has been an ongoing request for help with this problem of overflowing and leaking gutters for two to three years. In July we had overflowing gutters and water pouring inside our house. My wife climbed up three stories to find clogged gutters and one entire side of the house with no screen. I called American Roofing and was told they had actual photos of the work done. They called their gutter crew off of a job and they came right over to screen that side. (But we were told they had photos proving all sides were covered). Due to a storm, the crew had to leave before they could check the other gutters. This crew said they put on that new gutter on the one side and no one ever told them to put on the screen or check the other gutters for screening or cleaning. (even though this had been asked for SEVERAL times and promised it was all done and they had photos of this work) We have not heard one word form American Roofing since then. No one ever asked about the interior water damage. No one ever came out to finish the job of cleaning the gutters and checking the rest of the screening. So we hired a gutter cleaning company to come and clean and check our gutters. They found the front gutter over the porch that had been leaking and creating an ice problem and damage to the tuck-pointing and porch was totally clogged up. There were several gaps and lose spots of the existing screens that allowed debris in, and in several locations the screen was not properly attached. I sent a message via FaceBook to American Roofing a few weeks ago, and zero response. I am VERY disappointed with the warranty and follow up care and customer service, we will never again use American Roofing, even if the existing roof would qualify for warranty work, I would rather pay another company to come out.
Description of Work: After ongoing interior leaks, we had one side of gutter replaced and screened over. We had the other gutters cleaned and check as there was major ice buildup on our front porch. American Roofing did fix the interior damage at that point.

They were terrible. We had a guy come out. He's a pretty nice guy. He looked over it before when we had some minor stuff wrong. We had this a vent on top that goes around what they call a whirly bird. It came detached over the course of last winter. He gave us an estimate and everything was fine. He told he was leaving the company. Then it took me a month to get them out. Once he came out, the worker told me the estimate was the price of just getting on the roof to take a look at it. On an estimate, they said they'd do it. I went through a big rigmarole but finally got in touch with the guy who owned the company. He seems like a really nice guy. But his company is being mis-run. It was a case of not following up and not following through. The amount of the money was $300-something. It was not enough for them to be concerned about. So they stalled on me. I had paid half of the money up front. The young man that did the job did a very good job on it. His boss sent him out to my home to get the rest of the check. If I have any roofing needs again, I would go elsewhere. It took me a couple months just to get them out here to do it.

They were prompt. Everything they said they were going to do, they did in the amount of time they said they were going to take. They cleaned up and were professional, they were good. They were really easy to work with.

They seemed like they did a good job as far as quality. Punctuality was not great. We started the job in April and didn't complete it until June. Even a year later I am still finding roofing nails in my driveway. They were nice, but the clean up was not done well.

The work done was a settlement of a claim I made with my insurance company in response to damage caused by an April, 2012 hailstorm. The roofing crew showed up early morning and began removing the old roofing tiles as I was leaving for work. I was not at home during the day; however, my wife was at home. I returned from work at 5:00 p.m. and the roofing crew was completing the roof of the house. My wife complained the noise the roofers were making - large thuds that came from the roof that "shook the house". She did show me evidence of the severity of the impacts in that pictures hanging from the wall were skewed and pieces of plaster had broken off. Later, I was witness to the loud impacts and noted that pieces of the ceiling in the basement had broken off and covered my computer suite. Since the job was in November (2012) the crew finished in the dark. I was asked by the roofing crew supervisor if I could supply exterior lighting to help aid in the clean-up. When the crew left it was dark so I decided to wait until the next morning to inspect their work. I did find pieces of roofing tiles, nails, tools, and several empty paper bags from a 'fast food' restaurant. I also noted the caps that covered the roof lines were not straight and several tiles appeared to be buckled. I did call the company and provided them my concerns. The project manager who also happened to be the initial inspector that determined I had hail damage, advised that we wait until the spring and warmer weather to allow the roofing tiles to settle. The project manager assured me that he would return late spring to check the roofing tiles. Late spring (2013) arrived and I called the company to check when my visit by the project manager was scheduled. The company indicated that he was working in Omaha, NE, and he would schedule a visit as soon as he returned to the St. Louis area. The project lead finally showed up and he did visually inspect the roofing tiles on both the residence and the pavilion along with the stain that was applied to the deck and paint applied to the deck railings. The pavilion has skylights in the roof that were not attended by the contractor which I thought would be included in the repair of the pavilion roof. The project manager indicated to me his concern about the quality of the painting and staining of the deck (there were gaps in the stain and it seemed the painters painted over wood in the railings that had begun to rot). The project lead added that he would have someone come out and take care of the problems with the roof on both the house and pavilion. I did not hear back from the company so finally I contacted my insurance company claims office and provided them information regarding the unresponsiveness of the company. Several weeks later I finally received a call from the company's operations manager to schedule a time when he could come out and inspect the issues I had with the roofing and painting. The operations manager did inspect the issues and indicated that the company will see to fixing the issues. However, he indicated that the rotted wood on the deck and railings was my responsibility and I would need to repair the wood prior to him sending out the painter. I had questioned this with my insurance company since I thought the repairs to the damage caused by the hail storm included repairs to the damaged (and now rotted) wood. However, the operations manager did add the he could have the wood repaired by his company at my cost. The operations manager also added that since he had to wait for me to repair the deck before he could send the painter out then he would wait to send the roofers out at the same time. I did not understand why the two skills needed to be out at the same time. I also added that I had noticed my attic fan was not operating during the summer. He indicated that the fan was probably turned off when the roofing tiles were being installed and the roofing crew forgot to turn it back on. He said he would take care of the attic fan when they returned to to the warranty work on the roof. Since that conversation, the St. Louis area had an unusual hot period and I was without an attic fan. To date, there has been no resolution to the issues although I have been told the company will send out the roofers prior to fix the warranty problems without the painters.
Description of Work: Replace roofing on residence and unattached pavilion, prep and paint deck surface and railings.

let's just say a 15 year old hail damaged roof did not leak. The new roof from American Roofing and Exteriors has had 3 different leaks over the last year and a half.
Description of Work: they replaced a storm damaged roof. price was good and promises were made. the service was weak from the beginning. waiting on materials, short of materials and cutting corners with what they had on had. new roof leaked within a couple of weeks and they were reluctant to fix the water damage inside my home. they use inexperienced commissioned sales people. nation wide offices are virtually non existent. most number fall back to the Missouri location. They was monies from the insurance for things like the flue cover and gutters that were over looked until I complained several times.

The story starts out complicated. The property is a row house, which means it is connected to other homes and shares a common roof. We sustained extensive property damages to our unit as a result of the April 28th, 2012 hail storm that hit St. Louis County. Due to the policies of our subdivision, we were bound by the board to find a roofing company and replace the roofing and gutters for all 100 units. This process took until November 2012 to complete. With out the roof being completed, this delayed any additional repairs, which were our responsibility. After the roof was repaired at the oversight and management of the Rush Creek Subdivision Board, we personally had much trouble finding quality contractors who had the bandwidth and scope to repair the extensive damage on our property. We really ran into issues getting agreement from a quality company to work with us and our insurance adjustor to discuss damages that initially were unforeseen. In addition, we have a ?monitored? insurance payout, which caused more headaches and our mortgage company withholding funds while requiring periodic inspections and partial reimbursements. After much calling and several appointments and bids later we miraculously found ourselves involved with American Roofing & Exteriors. Hallelujah! This company has the means to work within the insurance adjustor?s pricing, and the overall expertise and bandwidth to take on the entire project. Our only expense was our deductable. There are no other out of pocket expenses. They meet with you in person at a time convenient to your schedule. They have the ability to repair all aspects, both interior and exterior, of the damages and within a timely manner. We had extensive damages, but their Project Manager oversees each and every aspect of the work all-the-while keeping you informed of the progress. Their office deals directly with the insurance adjustors and the banks, as needed, to keep the payments and inspections on schedule. The professionalism, courteousness and expertise is bar-none top of the class. The real bond of trust was built with the terrific Project Manager, Mr. Rick Clifton. He is just terrific, and we plan to use them...specifically him to repair our home in St. Charles (which also suffered damages in the April 2012 hail storm). We are just finalizing the project, which should be completed by February 13th, 2013.

We had this company come out to our house at least 3 times to fix problems that should have been fixed the first time. They left the interior of our house a mess. However, our problems seem to be fixed for the time being, so that is good.

THE WORK DONE WAS LESS THAN SATISFYING AND DEALING WITH THE MANAGEMENT WAS DIFFICULT. GOT A SECOND OPINION ON THE WORK AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A PROFESSIONAL JOB. THE WORKERS URINATED ON MY HOME WHICH PENETRATED UNDER A DOOR AND LEAKED INTO MY LAUNDRY ROOM IN THE BASEMENT. I ASKED THAT THEY NOT BE SENT BACK, BUT THAT REQUEST WENT IGNORED. THE WORKERS SAID THE SMELL I ATTRIBUTED TO URINE WAS THE MURATIC ACID BUT THE PRESIDENT SAID MURATIC ACID WASH WASN'T DONE BECAUSE IT WASN'T IN THE CONTRACT, SO WHY DID THE LABORER SAY THE URINE SMELL WAS THE ACID???- CONTACTED BBB AND PRESIDENT OF AMERICAN DENIED ALL CHARGES SAYING I WAS A ''DIFFICULT CUSTOMER FROM DAY ONE''. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON BBB; MY OWN DUMB FAULT FOR NOT DOING THE RESEARCH.
