It was amazing. Kent and the guys were always there on time. Kent was extremely accommodating with getting the floors installed in an amazing manor!! They were GREAT!!! Kent's help with this project was a true weight off shoulders! Thank you for a job over the top Well Done!!!

Kent and his team were wonderful! Very prompt in scheduling a bid, responsive when I had questions and extremely knowledgeable about old homes and flooring. The work they did was fabulous - we had our floors sanded down and poly-coated to give them a lighter, more rustic look. We were really happy with it! I didn't get bids from anyone else, but price seemed reasonable to me. Would hire Kent again in a heartbeat - he is fabulous!

These guys were awesome. They went out to bid the floors immediately and were able to get in within just a couple days. They looked at our 100 year old floors and made a recommendation on the best way to make the look their best before the house was staged to get ready for sale. The floors look beautiful and shine like new! Excellent service and great people to work with! I wish their service area extended into Central Illinois so I could have them come work on the floors in our new house too! Thank you!

From beginning to end, Ozark acted professionally, meeting our expectations and more. The bid was reasonable, the explanation of the process was clear, the installers showed up as scheduled and the job took the time estimated, important since the work was done right before Thanksgiving. The floors are matched beautifully to the rest of the house. When we had one thing that didn’t get done -- apparently what we wanted is different from the usual practice -- the installers came back promptly and added what we wanted. I would be happy to bring Ozark back again -- two more rooms to go!

In the kitchen, when they removed the old flooring, the subfloor was rotting and soft in spots. They ripped that out and replaced it for about $200. They integrated the new kitchen floor with the existing hardwood throughout the rest of the house and it looks great. You can't tell that it wasn't part of the original floor.

This is probably the best company we have ever used for any job in any house. Kent and his entire crew were polite, responsive, professional, patient, clean....each phase of the job had slightly different people in the house (demo, install, sanding, staining), but each group was just as efficient and nice as the prior/next. Madison is a superstar in terms of staining (and getting out dings, which I had one month later....oops). He counseled me on color choices, and he patiently waited while I figured out what I wanted. Kent returns all calls within the same day, often within the same hour. He was very responsive, and whenever I had questions about how something would be completed, he had good detailed answers. And nothing - not a single thing - needed fixing at the end of the job. To us, this was a lot of money, but the project could not have gone more smoothly. The end result is gorgeous and well worth every penny. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Met with multiple hard wood installers in order to receive estimates to have our old kitchen floor torn out and replaced with hard wood. After meeting with Kent and receiving his estimate (which was more than fair comparatively), we signed a contract to have Ozark Oak Flooring handle our job. Between the time of signing the contract and the start of the project we had multiple questions, and Kent always responded quickly to answer our questions. On the day the project was to start (and for the duration of the project), Kent's crew arrived on time and were professional and friendly answering all questions that we had of them. The work was completed on schedule with the end result being beautiful new oak floors stained to match the decades old floors surrounding them. After the job was completed and we arrived home from work (after the crew had already left) , we noted a couple small finishing details that didn't exactly meet our expectations. I sent Kent an email detailing these "issues" at 6pm that night and by 9am that next day I had missed 2 calls from him on my cell. After calling him back, Kent said he would take care of whatever we felt was necessary (at no additional cost) sight unseen. That very afternoon his crew came out to rectify these details without complaint and up to our precise standards. Through my work, I deal with various contractors on a near daily basis, and Kent's customer service and responsiveness to our concerns rate with the absolute best of them. The quality of the floors, the professionalism of the staff, the fair price, and the stellar customer service have made us life long customers of Ozark Oak Flooring Inc. Addendum 2014: tried to contact Ozark Oak Flooring to install and refinish existing hardwood flooring throughout our new home but was never able to speak with anyone. Tried multiple emails and phone calls over a couple weeks and never received the courtesy of a return call. Pretty disappointed as I was very pleased with them in 2012.

The owner did the estimate and described the job very fully and had good answers to questions when I called back. The job went exactly as described. I got three bids, and selected this firm because they said we could walk on the floors each evening. The other two firms, both with competitive prices, said we would have to stay off the floors after the staining (for one company) and after the finishes (the other company). Being able to get upstairs to our bedrooms and bathrooms made a huge difference. I was particularly pleased with the repair work along two walls where our old 1930's house had subsided in some past decade, pulling the two exterior walls away from the floor. This work exceeded my expectations. The two-man crew who came were polite and tidy, and apologetic for being a little late to arrive the first day because the freeway was closed due to a car catching fire.

We got a couple of estimates for floor refinishing in our new house. We selected Kent and Ozark Oak Flooring because of his attention to detail, careful explanation of the process and willingness to go above and beyond what other estimates included. Specifically, he removed staircase railings to fill the holes in the floor, removed all closet doors, removed an antiquated built in closet system to complete the entire closet floor and repaired/replaced small pieces of wood that were missing or damaged once they removed the carpets. Nonetheless, he charged us what was quoted upfront, with no additions for these items. He was a bit higher price than other estimates, however other estimates stated clearly they would not: move furniture, remove doors, repair damaged floors not visible during estimate and other restrictions. Kent's team taped off the other rooms and took care of all the aforementioned items. Most importantly, the completed work is beautiful. We were able to choose exactly the color stain we wanted and the finished look is stunning. His team completed the project in exactly the stated time (5 days for appx. 1500 sq ft). I recommend them highly.

Our floors are beautiful. Did a great job, cleaned up after. Because the job took two weeks, I saw a lot of the guys who did the work. They were always very polite and friendly. What really impressed me was one the great quality work. We had discovered upon removing some bookshelves in the family room, there was no flooring on a section near the wall. We had this patched. The floor was plank and peg type which seemed a challenge to match, and the patch job was so good we cannot tell it was ever done. Also, we had pulled all the old carpet in the house up ourselves and put it in the basement for later disposal. Upon seeing this, Kent volunteered to haul it all away for a very small cost. This courtesy to me went above and beyond good service. I could still hug him thinking back on it!

I read the previous reviews and despite some of them that said this company had less than stellar response time, decided to go ahead and give them a shot. I believe, as an Angie's List member, I am supposed to get a response within 24 hours. I contacted this company and another for an estimate on a very small flooring job. The other company responded to my request by *early* the following morning, within 12 hours of my e-mail request. To date, I have heard nothing from this company. I joined Angie's List because 3 separate contractors bailed on me once they saw how small my proposed job is. If this company won't even get back to me according to what they are promising on Angie's List, there is no way they will get my business. I'm sure they are capable of doing a good job, but it seems they sure make a person work for it.

They perfectly matched the floor and the stain to our existing hardwood. They were extremely professional and courteous. They were also very sensitive to the fact that we were living in the house while the work was being done and did a superb job at keeping the mess (from sanding) contained in that area of the house. I couldn't believe how painless the whole process was. I would definitely hire them again if/when I need my wood floors refinished. This work was done over two years ago and the floors still look perfect!

Kent and his team at Ozark Oak Flooring were great to work with. Not only were they able to shuffle their schedule to accommodate our installation with relatively short notice, they delivered what we agreed to in the timeframe that we agreed. The installation team took the time to ensure that they left the work area clean every day and they did what they could to ensure that post installation cleanup was minimized as well through the installation of plastic sheeting over everything and they did not let the mess pile up through the installation. Other sub-contractors that were brought in (carpeting resource to ensure that carpeting butted up against hardwood properly) were equally as professional in their demeanor and work. I will definitely keep Ozark Oak Flooring in mind for all of my future hardwood flooring needs.

The refinisher in our house was punctual and thorough. Communication was easy and clear through the process, making it easy to work with the company. The owner also came in for part of the job, and was able to answer questions. The finished product is beautiful and we're very happy with the experience.

Want to amend my previous negative report. Originally rated Ozark "F" as they did not return my calls. It turned out that, while the owner was on vacation, the answering service did not relay my messages. When Kent realized the problem, he immediately called, apologized, and set up an appointment to give me an estimate. He was very professional and answered all my questions. The installation went very well: the installation crew was always on time, was obviously experienced, and paid attention to detail. The floors (character grade red oak with natural urethane finish) look beautiful! I would highly recommend Ozark Oak Flooring.

I left two messages over the course of a week to talk to someone about work on our hardwood floors and never received a call back. I should have told them I got their name from Angie's List.

Working with Kent, Madison and his team was a great experience. They were always punctual and responsive. Great pricing and stuck to the budget.

Kent is very proffesional and hardworking. This is the second job he has done for us and we were very pleased once again. The clean up is incredible. The job is perfect. The price is good. He is a trustworthy person who worked in our home while we were on vacation both times.

Kent came out and explained the process of how his company would repair the floor. I had heard another company do the same and felt much more comfortable with Kent's plan of action. It took a second phone call to get the estimate, the first was lost in the mail. The appointment was scheduled in less than 1 week. Madison and Rick arrived early and were very professional explaining in detail the process. Since this was a patch of floor which needed to be redone I was concerned about the colors matching. Madison used his expertise to match the color almost perfectly. They did a great job of blending the patch in with the rest of the floor and you can't even tell where the old and new begin and end. They left no mess and finished before the estimated time. (the quote was an hourly rate due to the type of job) I was very happy with the outcome, much better than I anticipated. It was great to find a great company that cares about even the little details on the little jobs!

I will not work with this company.

I am very pleased with the service provided by Ozark Oak Flooring. I had received bids from 3 different flooring companies and found that Kent Smith from Ozark Oak Flooring was the only one who took the time to fully address my questions and to also explain in detail what his process was and why. Kent was friendly and very easy to talk to. It was reassuring to know that he would be on the job site working alongside his crew and was also available by phone for any issues. Kent's bid was in the same ballpark as the other companies but his attention to detail, his willingness to include additional services such as plastic wrapping appliances, cabinets, protecting adjoining rooms, providing and applying floor protectors, moving large furniture and providing a floor cleaning system were all "extras" not offered by the other companies. It was a very easy decision to choose Ozark Oak Flooring based on Kent's customer service approach and sincere desire to do a quality job. The job took 9 days to complete which was what Kent had predicted. Kent and his crew always showed up on time each day. Each one of his crew was polite and professional. They went about their work and worked together well as a team. They always cleaned up before leaving each day. I remained in the home during the entire project and often asked questions which were promptly and politely answered to my satisfaction. If I did happen to note any areas in the floor that were a concern, Kent and his crew would address those areas immediately and make any corrections as needed. The finished floors are outstanding in appearance and quality. Great pains were taken by Madison, the stain and finish expert, to provide the look and quality finish I was hoping for. Kent and his crew obviously have years of experience in this field and made the flooring installation a painless process. I could not be happier with the results. I will definitely use Ozark Oak Flooring in the future for any additional hardwood needs we may have.
