I was advised prior to their visit to have everything that we wanted appraised out in a limited area to save all of us time and to save us money. They were there just at two hours and went through a lot of items, as we have a large variety of sterling silver flatware and serving pieces. Time will tell on the appraisal prices when we go to sell the items appraised however there are a few things I had a feel for pricing on prior to Dorothy and Jim coming to our house and those were accurate. I believe this couple to be very honest and very accurate. I would call them again.

She was very personable and knowledgeable in her field. She was extremely helpful , organized and got the job done. I was very impressed.

Dorothy and Jim worked well together and informed us from the initial visit to the delivery of the appraisal report.

Set up an appointment. Dorothy and her husband were exactly on time. Worked fast. Took only an hour to go through the house and appraise key items. She offer good advise regarding selling the items appraised. I would use her again.

Mom had to go into a nursing home. Unfortunately, this was rather sudden and we found ourselves needing to liquidate the entire contents of her house as quickly as possible. We were so overwhelmed and we had no experience with estate sales and no idea how to price everything. In addition, there's always the fear that something truly valuable might be underpriced or overlooked or that we might ask too much. Dorothy was enthusiastic, energetic and very knowledgeable. She and her husband inspected, appraised and priced everything in about five hours. They also gave us a much-needed "crash course" in the art of holding an estate sale. In the end, we felt energized, confident and excited! Well worth every dollar!

DOROTHY SCHAFFER AND HER HUSBAND CAME TO MY HOME ON 4/4/05 AND LOOKED AT MY ANTIQUE FURNITURE TO GIVE ME AN APPRAISAL. THEY WERE AT MY HOME FOR OVER THREE HOURS. THEY LOOKED AT MOST OF MY ANTIQUES, AND DOROTHY'S HUSBAND TOOK PICTURES. WHEN THEY LEFT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE APPRAISAL WOULD BE SENT TO ME IN TWO WEEKS. A WEEK LATER ON 4/11/05 DOROTHY SCHAFFER CALLED ME TO TELL ME THEY WOULDN'T BE DOING MY APPRAISAL BECAUSE OF ''PERSONAL REASONS''. SHE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME SHE HAD SO MANY OTHERS TO DO, AND HAD TO GET THEM DONE. I TOLD HER I COULD WAIT, BUT SHE SAID SHE HAD NO IDEA WHEN SHE COULD GET TO MINE, ONCE AGAIN BECAUSE OF ''PERSONAL REASONS''. I FEEL THAT SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE COMMITTED TO THIS APPRAISAL BY COMING AND LOOKING AT MY FURNITURE IF SHE COULD NOT DO IT. I WILL BE MOVING IN THE NEXT 6 MONTHS AND NEEDED THIS APPRAISAL FOR SALE AND INSURANCE PURPOSES. NOW, I HAVE TO START OVER AGAIN. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.

DOROTHY IS A DYNAMO. SHE AND HER HUSBAND MADE A VISUAL AND WRITTEN INVENTORY. WITHIN TWO WEEKS I RECEIVED A PERSONAL REPORT, AS WELL AS A PREPARED REPORT WITH PICTURES, ONE FOR ME AND ONE FOR MY INSURANCE AGENT. SHE'S HARD WORKING AND HONEST.
