Description of Work: The service was a garage door reconditioning, from an Angie's List "Big Deal." The service was scheduled promptly and carried out efficiently and professionally. Corey, the company owner, performed the job. He is friendly and knowledgeable. The service was also very worthwhile, as it eliminated the door's problems of squealing joints and erratic bouncing up and down.

 + -1 moreGarage door would not open fully, called CGX after doing some basic troubleshooting and spoke with Corey. He was able to show up the same day. He quickly determined the problem with the garage door opener and replaced a bad gear, fixing the issue. Corey was very efficient and professional and did not try to upsell or replace anything that did not have to be.

 + -1 moreAbsolutely top notch outfit. The new rollers are quiet as can be and operate smoothly every time. The track mechanism, spring and associated parts were treated with a quality gargare door grease (they even left a full can!). CGX did the work very quickly. High quality work done on-time at a excellent price. Enough said.
Description of Work: GCX replaced the metal rollers in my two garage doors with high quality urethane wheels. They also serviced all moving parts.

Very flexable on setting up an appointment, even called me when he was headed to my place (since I work close I wanted to do it on my lunch hour).  + -1 moreThe service person was nice and professional. Offered what service he could. Because my garage door is old he did not have the proper weather stripping available (main reason for the service). Said he would look in the catalog for appropriate stripping but did not hear back from him so either he couldn't find it or he forgot to check. Not his fault I have an old garage door that needs unique weather stripping. Still the main reason for getting the service in the first place was for the stripping, so overall, not a very good value for the service. Would use the service provider again but am wary of purchasing one of the "Angie's Deals" again as they never really seem to work out.
Description of Work: Inspected garage door and checked rollers Reset garage door code so keypad and garage door opener would be synced with it. Didn't actually see done, but assume he lubricated the bearings as needed.

 + -1 moreHad some problem setting original work date but once established, work was performed on time and in a professional manner. Made recommendations but did not push. Cleaned area before departing. All-in-all work was well done and I was very satisfied. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.
Description of Work: Tightened garage door spring. Replaced weather strip on bottom of door. Oiled/lubed all springs and rollers. Replaced weather strip on side of garage door which had become torn and separated. Noticed that garage door opener was installed incorrectly and recommended it be reinstalled. Set appointment to return for additional work; which he completed on 11/15/2012.

 + -1 moreUnfortunately its difficult to rate this work as there is no way to tell how much of an improvement was possible using the old frame etc. My small garage door was very jumpy and clunky. The operative seemed knowledgeable and courteous and he did achieve some degree of improvement, although it wasn't perfect. At least I am not frightened to press the button now!

 + -1 moreCGX Garage Door did contact me originally. I just wish they would say that it will be X amount of time before we can do the service on your garage door and not leave you hanging. I am a pretty patient person so if they told me it's going to be 2 weeks a month etc. I can deal with that.
Description of Work: There was no services performed. The Company did contact me and left a message on my answering machine. I returned the call and spoke with someone who asked where I lived. I told him and he said he would call me back. He never did so I called him. Basically the same thing happened when I called him back. In the mean time my brother came in from out of town and fixed my garage door. By chance the same day it was fixed, I received a call from CGX Garage Door. I told them the garage door was fixed and I would save the service in case I needed it later. I am going to keep an open mind that they have to schedule in an area where they are working to be cost effective but I think that it would be very helpful if they would explain that. I can be patient but when you can not use your garage door, you would like atleast an estimate when it might be fixed.

 + -1 moreThe actual work was great, and he was exactly on time. My only complaint was that it took nearly 2 months of phone tag to get him to come out. This may have been a function of miscommunication between Angie's List and him, or it could have been because he was completely overwhelmed by work from the Angie's list offer. Hard to tell. But once I got him to come out, he finished the job quick and efficiently and the garage door works again.
Description of Work: I received a garage door reconditioning after purchasing the deal on Angie's list. He replaced the rollers and smoothed out the travel to get the garage door working again.
