PEP Waterproofing

The job seems to be done well.

The system failed and I continued to get water in my basement with heavy rains. I contacted a different, local contractor thinking there may be additional work that could be done around my chimney area and he discovered problems with the installation in two areas that prevented the water from draining properly. Due to weather forecasts (and with prior experience with time delays with PEP in the initial installation and with a repair that was made) removal of the original system and the installation of a replacement system was made prior to contacting PEP. Documentation was sent to them including photos and a copy of the invoice for the new system (which was less than half the cost that PEP charged me). I have had no more water in the basement since the new system was installed. I first contacted PEP on Jan 17, 2016, with a follow-up email apx March 10th. I still have had absolutely NO RESPONSE from this company. POOR WORKMANSHIP, OUTRAGEOUS PRICES, AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will point out that I did not have a guarantee that the system they installed is a "waterproof" system. I understand this, and that is why I contacted a different company to try to solve the problems with additional efforts, a step that I think any reasonable person would take.

No more water problems near the house foundation. No more worries. All water drains away from the house. Very professional. Free estimate and no pressure. Excellent!

They seemed very professional and very nice. The only problem was that they had asked me to remove a portion of fencing for them to do the work. It just wasn't the right fit. However, the quote was in the ball park of other companies.

The man who came out was pretty good. Their company actually could not help us for the water damage that we had going on but he gave me so many different suggestions on how to fix it without using their company because it was not what their company does. He came out and spent probably an hour here. I liked everything about him. He came on time. He was very professional and courteous.

, My experience was postitive. The person they sent out did a great job explaining all the options, warranties, costs etc. They did the work in a timely fashion and were very professional. They were very good about payment.

It took two weeks to get an appointment. PEP sent an information packet with detailed information and a photo of the man who would be coming to our home. We received a confirmation phone call the night before his appointment and Nick arrived on time. Very professional service and we would call again if needed.

Service was performed succesfully by 2 men in less than 3 hours. The sales technician told us that the work would take 3 men a whole day to complete the job. We didn't think much about it until the sales guy called us to find out if we were satisfied. We told him we were satisfied with the results but thought that the price was excessive since it took far less man-hours than originally estimated. He said he would talk to the owner but never heard anything back. So we paid $1100 for 6 hours of labor and 40 pounds of gravel.

I got a bid form them exactly a year ago and when I called them again this spring they went and honored the previous bid. They scheduled the work fairly quickly and they showed up when they were supposed to. They also did a long job in the house that was very involved and they were very successful I think. The work is guaranteed too and they are very explicit about their life time guarantees for the things that they do. I had bids for this job from three different companies which included them and their bid was the probably the best value for I got.

The experience with the sales person started out wonderful that is where it ended. The workers were regularly late in relation to when they said they would be there. The workers did not preform the work that was on the contract to be done. The work they did do was deplorable and some of the worst work I have ever seen completed in any line of work. They left trash, cigarette butts, and boulders through out the yards. They were contracted to provide a sprayed on membrane and instead the used their hand to smear the sealant on my foundation. This was one of many issues with the work. The men came back two times and still failed to fix the 20 plus issues with their original work. After three calls to the owner he finally called back. He informed me after interrupting me multiple times he was busy and would get back with me. He followed this with hanging up on me. Two days later he showed up to my house with three other works. I was not allowed to get two words in end wise without him interrupting me. He said well what will it take to get my crew out of here and get paid. We don't have all day to spend here. He then stated its ok that is crocked because it did not say in the contract it would be level. He offered a dump truck load of dirt to fix all of the substandard work. I would in now way use or recommend this company to do any work under any situation. Some of the issues Old drain piping was left sticking out of the dirt and not removed Cigarette butts left on the ground Installed drain piping was left uncovered Membrane was applied with there hands not sprayed as contracted clean dirt was not used as contracted rocks were not removed metal flashing was crocked, bent and pulling off before they left caulking used on flashing was done in a sloppy manner underground drainage for downspouts did not match contract drawing and was installed not with a downward slop This are only part of the issues.
