Window World

It's a good quality door. They did a good job putting it in. It has a double lock on it so I can lock it in an open position, which is good for keeping children in and the doggie out. We went with them because their price was reasonable. They were prompt and professional.

They came over for an estimate and a few days later I called them to give my deposit and set up a time for the installation. It took FOREVER for the door to come in and the install date to be set (about 2 months or so). They showed up on time, were very nice, and installed a nice door as promised. However, the original entry door that needed replacing (the door that they saw during the estimate) had an automatic closer on it. When the new door was installed, I was told they couldn't put the closer back on for whatever reason, and it was up to me to put the closer back on. They left the job with the door swinging in the wind. I had no idea what kind of closer I needed, how to install one, etc. I had to go out and buy several different kinds before I finally found one that worked. Meanwhile, the door had no closer on it for about two days while I tried to get it to work. Their overall door was good, but I think when they replace a door, they should replace it from start to finish. They knew it had a closer on it from the beginning. It's their responsibility to get it installed and working; not halfway installed and tell their customer to do the rest.

It went fine and provided excellent service. I would highly recommend them.

It went well. There was one disappointment but there was bad weather that day and they had to reschedule but it was understandable, it was not a problem. They had a competitive bid. Between the price and the Angie's List recommendation would have been the reason we chose them.

They did what they had to do, they came back when they had to, and they made everything right. My son liked the price, and he liked they came back when there was a problem with one of the windows, and they kept coming back until they got it right. They tried to accommodate him as much as they could. They were professional.

They arrived on time and cleaned up after ad completed work in one day as planned.

The "home of the original $189 window" wanted over $700 for two windows. EVERYTHING was extra...including caulk and outsidd trim. It should be "the home of the $350 window"!

They did quality work in a reasonable amount of time. They seemed completely professional in the whole process.

They did a great job, the windows are perfect, and they cleaned up afterwards.

Chris Young met with me to go over what I wanted done. He met with me twice as my plans kept changing. He was very patient with me as I decided how much I could actually afford to do at the time. It changed 3 times. Because of weather, I had to also reschedule a few times, and they were again very accommodating. The windows look great and I only regret not switching them out earlier. While here working, they showed up on time, were considerate of my things and cleaned up well. I will certainly have them back to complete the other half.

They were wonderful. They were very good. When they gave me the quote for the window I thought it was expensive for one window. They were very professional, very nice and they explained everything to me.

The salesman was great but from there it went downhill quickly. The team that showed up to remove and install were nice but did horrific work. They came in like gangbusters, ripped everything out and started putting in the windows at a ridiculous speed. There were huge gaps between the new windows and the frame where the old windows were. They did not fill this gap with insulation and when I asked I was told if wasn't necessary. The worker proceeded to caulk and I had to stop him because the caulking looked like a three old had done it. He just laid a line of caulk and did not smooth it out - I even know better. There's a tool for that. The next faux paux was they put the window that was meant for my back bedroom in the front bedroom. The measurements of the windows is different. Thank goodness I caught that mistake. Then let's talk my sliding patio door. They broke a channel lock ripping out the old one for starters. Then when they installed the new one, the added a 2 x 4 at the bottom to fill up the gap. This resulted in me having to step up to walk out of my door. Again, I had to tell them this was not right. They finally figured out they put the board at the bottom instead of the top. The trim on the outside of my house was installed horribly. They cut the trim incorrectly and again, did horrible caulking. They then used something to try to remove the excess caulk, which stained my siding. the shutters came in as the wrong color. I had to call my salesman to try to get all of the mistakes corrected and instead of him escalating the issues, he tried to resolve them himself. He said he ordered new shutters and that another team would come out to fix the other issue. They did come and they had to remove all of the outside trim and re-do. They also had to remove many of the windows because they were not balanced and were installed at an angle. They added insulation where necessary. The caulk on the outside was unfortunately awful still and I had still not received the back shutters. I called the salesman and he made two appointments with me and was no show. I finally got really mad with the outside of my house looking ridiculous and feeling like I had been scammed , I called and insisted on talking to the owner. I didn't get to that person but I was put on the phone with the manager. He made an appt,to meet with me and the field supervisor. They were both appalled at my finished job and promised to fix things. I will say that once it got escalated to that level, they did get things fixed. They ended up having to reside the front of my housed and re-do all of the trim. I was appreciative of their efforts but from start to finish my job took four months to end up with something that was acceptable. The windows work well and have saved me money on the electric bill but the experience was extremely unpleasant and I would based on that I would or could never recommend them to anyone.

I liked everything about this company. they were professional and had just about the lowest price. They had a 5 man crew out here and they did the work in less than a day; were out by 4:00PM. Their clean up with excellent!

From the salesman to the installers, the process was very simple to get my windows installed. The salesman did a good job explaining the product and options. The price was very reasonable compared to other quotes I've received. Installation took awhile but that was okay since the installers just wanted to do a quality job. I'd rather it be done right than fast. It took about 9 hours for 2 guys to install the window. My only complaint would be that the installers were smoking right next to the open windows and letting it in the house. I asked him to move away from the house and it was no problem. Thanks!

Their service was fine and no problems at all but did not use their service. I have no time and rest. It was within a week for me calling until the time they came out and provided a quote, it was very quick. That was 4 months ago, August. Actually, let me amend what I said. I was still satisfied with their respond but they said that their work that I was asking them to do was out of the scope, what they would do, and they recommend it moving on to another type of contractor. Repair of the damaged patio door, it was not within the scope of work to do to repair. They could sell and install a new door but the work that it needed to repair the old door and the frame was not with their nearest scope. They were very professional, showed up on time, reviewed the situation, gave me feedback right away, very honest, did not try to tell me they could do something that they could not door to charge me more than it was normal because of that work they just said it was nuts, not that they typically do.

Replaced bow window to Bay and a large interior window, signed contract on 9/20/2013 pretty slow. Did not finish out side siding still waiting on Dec 11th for them to do that!!! Over all not great, did not clean windows before departure had to do inside and out in 20 degrees weather myself. WIll not use again!!!! |

Thought the price was a bit high for 3 windows. Not happy about needing to wait four weeks for installation.

Salesman was knowledgable and courteous. Product and costs were well explained and documented. Contract was signed and initial 50% deposit made 1 October. Expected 4-6 week delay for windows and door to be installed. Informed that materials arrived on 7 November, work was scheduled for 14 November. Everything went as planned until crew was preparing to leave. I inspected interior basement windows and saw that expanding foam insulation had been used to fill in gap between window jamb and new windows but remained rough looking (see photos) with gaps and over flows visible. When I discussed with workmen, they said that additional 'finisishing' work like cutting off excess, filling with caulk and smoothing way an 'extra'. I called a field rep who said she would call the 'salesman'. Workers seemed embarassed but indicated that this was a 'sales' issue. This did not appear to be a 'first' which led me to the conclusion that such 'add ons' reflect a routine event. The office contacted the workers and OK'd the 'additional' work gratis. Remainder of cost paid in full. Since the remainder of the work was done as expected and since this company has had high ratings, I did not expect to see such an unprofessional appearance to be left as job complete or to be expected to pay above the agreed contract price for a 'finished' product. Note: the workmen were professional and courteous and once the finishing was OK's they completed the job in 30 minutes. In spite of their effort, the issue left a bad taste. If this is indicative of the Window World business model or business practice, I blieve they should be rated lower than the current 'A' rating. In any even, I will not recommend them and plan to will a different contractor for my next project (replacing 10 exterior windows with high energy thermal glass).

They arrived way before I expected them and were professional and friendly. I worried that the light rain would inhibit their work but they said they did it all the time. The person I give the most credit to was Tom (last name unknown) who is either a franchise owner or head of the St. Louis office. He followed up on everything and urged me to contact him at any time and gave me his cell number and answered within 5 minutes of my leaving a message. Would gladly have them back any time my needs are of the window variety.

We called Window World on October 1 and 4 weeks later we had our new windows installed.in our family room. The salesman came out the day after we called. He was informative and there was no high pressure. The installers were courteous, professional and neat. We are very pleased with our windows. They look great. Our old windows were wood with triple track aluminum storm windows and drafty.. We are looking forward to a warmer family room this winter.

it went well I think one of the windows was measured a little shot which is a concern to me

They had so many jobs that they pulled in a crew from another county to do the siding. We did not have a problem at first they showed up started the work then kind of slacked off when I went to investigate notice they were down the street at one of our neighbors house doing a project there and my house was sitting...I made a few inquiries and found out that the supervisor was going to be out. He came and I showed him what was going on while my house was not getting done, they finished the job and we could not open our front door due to the fact they had hung the siding so low that our door would not clear it. I immediately called and complained they came out the same day and explained that the crew was no longer with the sister company and they would have a crew out in 1 week to fix all our problems. We got it fixed they had to basically take all the siding down and replace it correctly. We have had one piece that was cut to short and they came out and fixed immediately...

After all the holdups, from other providers, and permit people, I am still very pleased with everything.
