I looked at a lot of window companies. I am glad I did not listen to other companies opinions about Window World. I think they were Jealous. From the very beginning Window World showed me the highest of respect. They kept to their appointment times and cleaned up after themselves. I could not have been happier with the service or the product. These windows have the Good Housekeeping seal and seem to be rock solid. I highly recommend them to all my neighbors.

The job went very well. There were no strong-room tactics as far as the sale. The gentlemen that came out installed all 9 windows the same day, and cleaned up very well.

We purchased the Series 4000 with the stimulus energy package. The salesman, Ed, was very knowledgeable and very nice to work with. He did an actual demonstration of a window sample and went to great lengths to explain the differences in the various windows, so I felt like I was able to make the best decision regarding which windows to purchase for our home. I was pleased with his sales ethics as he was not the least bit pushy and didn't bash other companies. Window World provides a very detailed package of information regarding their products and warranties. The price of the window was $205 plus $22 extra for a full screen, $38 extra for colonial grids between the panes of glass. In addition, they charge $65.00 to wrap the exterior with white aluminum, $25.00 per window for "lead renovation", and a one time "site set-up and landfill disposal fee (I will have multiple installation dates in order to stagger cost of additional windows). We paid an extra $59.00 (regularly $79.00) for the stimulus energy package which consists of Low-E glass and argon gas between the double panes. This window faces the west and receives direct sun in the late afternoon and early evening. It did a much better job of insulating against the sun and 100 degree days we had in July than the other original aluminum windows on that side of the house. I will submit another review in the spring if they don't perform as well during the cold winter months. The screen came with a small spot near the very top where the mesh is stretched out leaving a hole in the screen large enough for mosquitoes or flies to get through. I didn't notice this until after the workers had gone but I'm sure they will be happy to replace it when they come back to install the rest of the windows. Some of the welds on the mitered corners of the window frame are a little rough and you have to be careful not to cut your hand when washing the window. I don't know yet if anything can be done about that. All in all, I was very satisfied with the window installation and mostly satisfied with the look and quality of the window itself, with the exception of the couple of things noted above about the screen and welded corners. We will be ordering another 15 windows from Window World. I only gave a 4 for quality and price due to manufacturing issues noted above and for professionalism because one of the workers smoked outside my window while working and because one of them yelled at the others in front of me.
Description of Work: First off, let me start with telling you that I am a very picky person and expect near perfection. We had a double hung vinyl replacement window installed in our main bath to replace the original aluminum window with single pane glass. The crew of 3 (Tilman, Brad and Paul) arrived on time and went right to work. They were very quick and did a very good clean-up after the work was complete. They used tarps on the ground outside the window and also on the floor inside the window, used wet-wipes to clean the inside of the window afterwards and a HEPA vacuum for any dust left inside the room. They took all the debris with them, including the aluminum window, which the salesman told me the workers would keep for scrap to add a little extra money to their pocket. The window appears to be installed correctly and the caulking was done neatly (See comments below regarding actual quality of window). They seemed to follow most of the EPA recommended procedure for work that might possibly involve lead-based paint. For this procedure they charge an extra $25.00 per window. Though it is highly unlikely there was any lead-based paint present around my window (no interior trim only plaster returns and ceramic tile, the exterior of the house is brick and the aluminum window was original without any paint or trim).

This was the second time I used Window World, and both times I got a very professional job. The windows are great, and perform well. I get much less transmission of both heat and cold. The windows fit perfectly. The installers were very professional and completed the installation withing one day both times.. My home was left so clean that it was hard to tell that any work had been done. I highly recommend this company, both for the quality of the product and the professionalism of the installers.

Last summer they replaced 12 windows in my home. I was a little disappointed because they advertise replacing any size window for $189.00, and the charges were higher than that. I felt that was misleading. I also felt the salesman was somewhat rude, and very unhappy when he had to measure an the exterior of one window. The work was satisfactory, but I didn't enjoy working with them. I cannot recommend their services, nor will I be using them again.

They are excellent so I am looking to do the front windows as well. They were totally professional, I like the quality of the windows, and I like the work that they did. They were very professional and they came out to give me an estimate. It took three or four months for them to install the windows but that is because they custom make them. They cleaned up well and they showed me how they work. Our bill has gone down because they are very efficient.

The salesman didn't seem too knowledgeable about the windows. The pricing was hard to follow because there were a lot of added fees for each window. I didn't like how the company hired subs. The salesman was a little pushy. He called us back numerous times to ask if we were going to hire them. In the end, we felt more comfortable going with a local company.

took 10 weeks from my initial call to installation; main hold-up was some communication struggles / misunderstandings between the company and Maryland Heights City Hall (regarding permit). Time from contract signing to installation was 6 1/2 weeks (which included time that I and they spent correcting the miscommunications just mentioned). Once it got rolling, installation went very well; the crew was pleasant, efficient, and helpful. The troubles in securing the permit were a downside, but I was very pleased with both my dealings with the salesman (Rob) and the installation crew.
Description of Work: installed 10 windows and 2 storm doors; two of the windows were apparently mis-measured, and replacements are currently on order. While the mis-measurement is unfortunate, the lead installer Darryl impressed me with his concern for quality and his unwillingness to try to force installation with poorly-fitting windows.

I like the product and price, and the installation was good. A friend of mine told me about them and he was really happy with them so I contacted them personally. I thought it was a great value for the price. You can maybe find something better but you are going to pay more for it; I don’t know if it would be worth it. The higher-grade windows were only $20 more per window.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Jason was the sales rep and initial contact. Very knowledgeable about product and process. Went over quote in detail, answered questions thoroughly. Installers (3) arrived on time and were well organized and thorough. It was a 2-day install in cold and rain..they were troopers! Windows arrived in perfect condition, carefully installed (56 yr-old brick home w/marble sills). Removal and disposal of old windows carefully managed and well done. Installation of new windows and clean-up also well managed and well done. This could not have been a better experience. The difference new windows made in home heating was obvious the first month and I am sure will continue during cooling months as well. I would definitely recommend Window World and would use them again.

The man from Window World came out to give me an estimate. He was right on time. He was very friendly and helpful, and was able to give me an estimate on the spot, which was great. He was very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I was happy with the estimate so I ordered the windows. They came in sooner than expected and the guys came out the next day (they were very prompt) and installed all of them. The men were polite and they worked very hard. They got everything done in one day, which was impressive. They cleaned up any mess they made and they left the house cleaner than when they arrived. I would definitely recommend them, or use them again if I needed to.

It is an old house and we had the original aluminum windows with single pane glass. They really did a fine job and I was pleased. They thought that it would take 2 days to do it but it only took 1 day. They had to do the safe removal and on the other segment they probably pulled a little bit of paint off the walls right around the windows because they had to totally enclose them and they did. The workers were courteous and I would recommend them. They did a good job at a very reasonable cost. We had 2 problems with 2 different windows and they very promptly sent out a senior person who handled both issues marvelously.

We had some issues with them and we are not really happy. I spent $4400 on that work. The installation was not good. The window was pretty good for the price I paid, but we have air leaks and they have not put it in properly. It was a husband and wife team and I did not want to tell them anything. It was a cold time and we had cold air coming in and we had frost building in the house. We have called them but they want to send out the same team and I don’t want that to happen. Dealing with them was ok. They were ok with the installation dates. The product was ok.
Description of Work: I used Window World in November of last year to get some windows. Window world sent ou their field supervisor and a team. They fixed everything to our satisfaction in May 2011. It turned out to be the initial installers did not properly seal sround the installed windows and we had frost forming in Dec & Jan, Feb, March. We ended up with plastic on the windows to contain the problem until spring. Window world initially responded to our call attempting to send out the initial installer. After I made it clear that we did not want the same team back out to patch up their own mistakes, the field supervisor come out. We had attempted to speak with the original installer immediately after the install and received some unbelievable explanation regarding why he had not used the insulating foam around the window to seal the entire perimeters. The initial installer stated he had done it properly. My husband had tried to watch them while they were doing the installon and offered assist with caulking etc. Some of the windows slipped by him and the end result was air leaks much worse than we had with our old windows for a good while due to communications with the company and the weather. As of now during the summer we are o.k. I would like to update this when winter arrives again!

They did a good job on the windows. They advertised $189.00 a window, but I didn't want the cheapest windows. I wanted something that would provide more weather protection. The federal government was offering a rebate if you had windows that met their standards around that time. For around $205.00 a window they had windows that had very good insulation properties and met the standard. That sold me on them and I didn't think that price was much higher than the lowest level windows that they could have put in. I had signed up to get the windows in late October or November and they came in December which is a pretty cold time to be having the windows put in. They showed up and did it on a Sunday and there was no extra cost for doing it overtime. They had a whole crew of 8 people and they had the windows all done in 4 hours. They cleaned up and took our old windows, which is what I wanted them to do. The windows have been great. They are one of the best things we have ever done. We put up with bad windows for years because we couldn't afford them. I would recommend them as doing what they say. The Better Business Bureau had top ratings for them at that time. There have been no complaints in 3 years and they do a huge amount of business. I am really happy with them. Our heating bill went down significantly. The biggest change was with the air-conditioning bill. With air-conditioning, cold air goes down instead of up. Our bill went down fantastically. We would get $150.00 or $160.00 bills, even up to $180.00, before. Our highest bill ever was $120.00 since we installed the windows and we had a very hot summer last summer. We even stay below the $100.00 mark which is something that my friends don't even want to hear about. The windows are doing what they are supposed to do. They work nice and they are easy to clean. Water would leak into the sills of the other windows we had. We had to keep the storm windows down when it rained because if it went past the storm windows, it would get into our sills and show up on our inside walls. I was worried that that would be something that the new windows wouldn't address, but these windows addressed that too. I have everything good to say about the windows. I don't know if their windows are any better than anybody else's windows. There are a lot of good replacement windows out there that do the same thing. I thought that the combination of a very low price and top notch installation was what made our windows good. They were very responsive. I have recommended them to my daughter and my friends. Windows are something that if you do once, you don't have to do them again. They last longer than we live. The 17 windows at $205.00 each came to $3485.00. They did some exterior trim around all the windows that was extra if I wanted it and I did at $60.00 a window and that came to $1020.00. They had to use tempered glass or obscure glass in the 2 bathrooms because the city ordinances here in St. Louis. The tempered sash at $65.00 a window was $130.00 for 2 windows and obscure glass on 2 windows at $70.00. It wasn't all that cheap, but I was happy. They are all just standard windows.

The representative came to my door on time, smiling and pleasant. He told me about the company and his experience and went through his binder explaining details of the company's history. Then he went to his car and brought in a small window to show me and demonstrate how it works. After looking at the current windows and measuring, he prepared an estimate for five new windows. I was exploring the possibility of getting new ones and this was one presentation that I heard. I have decided to wait to get them so have not engaged anyone to do the job.

It went just fine. We got several bids for the job, and Window World was the lowest bid. There were other bids that were competitive, and a couple that were much higher. Their salesman gave us a good presentation, but there were no high-pressure sales tactics either. And they did a great job. The installer came out when he was supposed to, and he was courteous and polite. Even more importantly, the installer really took pride in what he was doing, as he took his time and really made an effort to make sure that every window was installed just right. It's been almost a year now, and the windows look and work great!

When you have a 1918 house with 30 windows, you really appreciate a good replacement window contractor and Window World is excellent at what they do. We could only afford 15 windows this round; the other 15 will be done by Window World when we are ready. From start to finish, our experience with them was great. Steve Weng, our salesperson, was bright, responsive, thorough and candid--about pricing, schedule, quality and measures that would be required for lead paint amelioration. Due to the custom sizes, the windows themselves took a bit of time to arrive, but they are really, really beautiful and of great quality. The installers, a crew led by "Jay" and including his brother and two other pros clearly had worked together for a long, long time. They were quick but thorough and, when the inevitable glitches occurred, such as sash paint clinging to the tape they used or the j-channel cracking as they removed one window in the bitter cold, these defects were promptly disclosed and a plan for remediation immediately developed. Everyone we worked with was professional and on the ball and could not have been more courteous. Best of all, their windows have performed beautifully in their first months of life. We are enjoying watching the sunsets through them, can already tell the difference in the temperature within our home and the quiet that we enjoy with the windows closed will only be matched, we are sure, by the softness of the breezes we'll enjoy when they're open in spring and the energy efficiency we'll see when they're closed again in summer. We can't wait to have the other 15 done and have every confidence that Window World will go a great job on those.
Description of Work: Window World replaced 15 of our 30 windows, which had been installed some time in the 1960s, with their better quality replacement windows, including the energy efficient glass. The job took a bit more than one day due to the fact that they had to come back when the temps warmed up to calk, and to install some replacement j-channel that had cracked when they were removing one of the front windows in freezing temperatures.

The install went well. A crew of 3 guys. Took about 5 hours to get 9 windows in. Good pace, house wasn't open to the elements for too long. The finishing (chaulking and flashing) took longer than expected but that was mainly due to weather. Installed on a Friday, left two windows unfinished until Tuesday ( they told me at the end of the day Friday they would come back to finish on Saturday, they finished one on Saturday). Very professional job. They cleaned adequately inside the house, left some finger.hand prints on the window frames that can be wiped off. Outside they left a mess of material torn out from windows, pieces of the old windows, install trash and similar.
