My interaction with them was great. They contacted me within the hour of when I left a message. I made an appointment for somebody to come over and they were there within 48 hours. I am going to have more windows put in. I didn't have them put all of them in this time, I wanted to see if what they said was true and it was. I will have another five or six windows put in by them.

From the sales person who gave me an estimate to the repair man who fixed a couple of minor problems after installation, I am very satisfied.
Description of Work: I had all the windows in the house replaced, 25 in all. They are good quality casement windows and were installed well. Cleaned up after themselves. Have had two minor problems after installation and a repairman came out quickly and fixed the problems quickly and efficiently.

We had 9 original windows replaced in our 1970's build ranch home with double hung Window World vinyl windows. Window World gave us a very reasonable estimate that was well below the big box stores and some other companies. I saw that they were well liked on Angies List and had a AAA rating with the BBB, so I pulled the trigger on the windows. Window World asked that we have plenty of clearance around the windows beforehand, and I think that preparation helps them move along as quickly as they did. The installers were very friendly and professional, and the installation took only one day. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the area after the windows were installed and they even took great care to avoid damaging my garden as they worked in it. The team had to remove the old metal frame windows by breaking them out, install new windows, weather seal, and wrap the exterior. Finally, they went back over all of the features of the windows, showed me how they worked, and reiterated the guarantees I am entitled to. The windows themselves have a few quirks, which is why I gave a B in quality. They seal well and are easy to open, but there are some nuances around removing and reinstalling the panes that make them not the easiest to use. I also have a hard time getting them to latch shut sometimes, but this may be due to the aforementioned reinstallation quirks. Overall, I recommend Window World to anyone looking for a nice, affordable, basic replacement for their old windows.

Overall I was quite satisfied with the work. The men doing the work seemed efficient and were courteous. The windows look great. I've been told that this company adds a lot of extras to their price. I found the price reasonable for the number of windows I was replacing. Also, these folks were on time and on budget and service after the sale was prompt and satisfactory.
Description of Work: I had a number of windows replaced at two rental houses. The salesman spent some time ensuring that the color of the windows and wraps would look good given the color of the houses. He was prompt in his follow-ups as he gave me bids and we scheduled the work. In the initial installation at one house I was missing a screen. It was ordered and delivered promptly. Also, had a window crack just a couple of months after installation. It was ordered and the salesman came and replaced it promptly.

Overall the tech was polite and they showed up on time. My only issue is with the price.
Description of Work: I called Window World because I seen an advertisement for "Any Window, Any Size, Installed for $199". I made an appointment and the service tech showed up as scheduled. However, to replace the garden window the cost was $2,000. I almost passed out when I seen the price. I priced the window at Lowe's for $279 without installation. Needless to say I would recommend getting a ball park estimate before you have them come out. If you see a special or sale make sure they are still offering it.

The salesman who came to my house seemed knowledgeable and wrote down all of the specifics of my order. When the installers came to install the windows, there were very large gaps between the trim and the window that they filled with mounds of caulk. After I saw a couple of the windows that they had finished installing, I told them that they should stop and take the rest of the windows back. When I called the salesperson to tell him about the window size issues, he told me that one of his supervisors would be coming to my house to look at the windows. When the supervisor arrived, he measured the windows and determined that the original measurements that were turned in were way too small and assured me that they would reorder the windows to fit. In the meantime, there was a large draft from the windows they were working on because they did not fit properly and my heating bills went through the roof. The next time the installation team came back, they ripped out the original windows that were the wrong size. When they took them out, it ripped a lot of the paint off of my window trim because they had used so much caulk to fill the gaps. Window World never offered any fix to that issue. After they installed one of the new windows they had brought, I realized the trim on the windows was the wrong color. They were suppsoed to be tan on the outside and white on the inside. When I called my salesman, he told me that if I wanted that they would have to charge me extra to reorder the windows. The different color choices were written on my original invoice that he wrote up the first time I met with him! After I pointed this out, he talked to his manager and agreed to reorder the windows again with the correct color trim. The THIRD time the installers came to install the windows, they were able to install all of them except my living room windows. When he reordered the windows he ordered the incorrect size for one side of the living room window. By this time I was furious. I had taken off of work several times to be at my house while installers were there, and had paid a fortune in increased heating bills. I spoke with several managers and asked them to reduce the cost of my bill (at the time, the total was $2900). They actually asked me to provide them with copies of my heating bills to prove to them that it was costing me more money. Nevermind the headache and damage that they did to my window trim. The installers also took a chunk of wood out of my door frame when they were carrying one of the windows through to my bedroom. When I brought this to their attention, they did nothing to try to remediate that problem and told me that I could try to fix it with some wood filler. I have never had such a TERRIBLE experience with any company before.

Window World was very responsive. The salesman came promptly after I requested a bid. He spent a lot of time going over my options and answering my questions. The company was flexible in scheduling the work. Because of very cold weather, it took about five days to complete the job. The installers worked very hard and in very cold weather. They did a good job cleaning up the work areas. I am very happy with the windows and have had no problems.

Window world put my windows in. That has been quite a few years ago. They were put in in 2003. It was in May of 2003, that was about ten years ago. I think about $3000, $3200. I think $3200 would be close in the neighborhood. The one bad thing is one of the people that they sent out, that they contracted with, he didn't do a bad job putting the windows in but he just disappeared on us before the job was done. However we got in touch with Window World and one of the owners himself got out here immediately and finished the job for us, so that impressed me. If he hires contractors he can't control their behavior and this guy just kind of disappeared, but he more than made up for it. He came right out and finished the job. I wouldn't hold what the contractor did against them at all. If we needed Window World again we would definitely use them. If you are writing this down I wouldn't even list the little glitch he did, but he did come out and make up for it. And he came out right away. I wouldn't know anything about the installation guys, but again he came out and he took care of us when that one contractor disappeared and I'm telling you this contactor was a real hill billy. I hope I don't offend anybody, but he was. But he did a good job putting the windows in, he just didn't come back. First of all they gave us a good product and they are installed right and we are so happy with these windows. Also I think if anything happens to one, I think we have a lifetime guarantee on them, if anything happens to one of them they are going to come out and replace it for nothing, that was out understanding. I think they are into siding and guttering too. So if we ever get to the point that we need that, I would definitely get a quote from them.

I liked the guy who came out from Window World. He was very straightforward and there was no pressure at all. He was relaxed. He was right on time. They seemed very professional as far as living up to any work. They were better than the other people that we had requested quotes. We are not sure if we are going to do the work but when we do the work, we will go with Window World.

They were professional, courteous, and non-pressure sales. Their installer was a joy to work with as he did a great job of installing the windows. They did the whole house in a day, gave a fantastic warranty, and the quality of the window was great. The only thing we did notice with these windows, compared to our old ones, is that there was a slightly larger frame. So there was less glass overall. I assume it was because it was needed in order to make them more efficient?
Description of Work: They replaced 10 windows in the house and the sliding glass door. I purchased their highest quality windows, and they had to charge a little more because of the age of our house. They had to take additional steps because of the possibility of lead-based paint being used in the house.

We did considerable research on three brands of windows. One bid on comparable Jeld-wen vinyl windows came in at over $17,000. We felt that Window World's top of the line unit was more sturdy and the formed seams less noticeable. It must be tough for the smaller companies to compete with the bigger ones, but price matters. Frankly, we were very nervous about the decision we had to make. I don't know if it made any difference, but my husband insisted on Window World's best crew. The quality of the window matters little if installed sloppily. The cost differential between the quality vinyl and wood was well over $10,000. We are retired, on a fixed income, and so maintenance and price became our priority. I was hesitant to use vinyl to replace wooden windows, for appearance as well as the reputation of the cheaper older vinyl windows, yellowing and coming apart. You will loose about an inch of glass all around each pane, and our house sits such that light is already an issue. The new windows look nice from the street and I no longer notice the wider frames. We have the clear-vue screens which really do make a difference in clarity looking out. The only thing that is cumbersome to me is getting used to two locking mechanisims on the frame as opposed to one on the old Andersons. The tilt-in windows are just terrific for cleaning. Also, the crew's finish caulk work was excellent. The crew was on time, neat, courteous, and efficient. We had just had the interior rooms painted and wondered how the installation might impact the walls, but turned out that they did the work without a scratch, either on the walls or hardwood floors. The crew was in and out in less than 3 hours. They appreciated that I had tied back a bush by the bay windows and had put down old carpet scraps on the ground near the 1st floor windows. They thanked us and said that noone had ever done that for them. As the ground was wet from a previous rain this saved them considerable time in cleaning mess from their shoes and ladders as they moved about. We have enjoyed significant savings in our utility bills. We had always kept the thermostat higher than we preferred during the day and significantly moreso at night and used fans to keep the cost down. The worst electric bill 2011 was $250. Due to health issues in 2012, with the horrific 100+ weeks, the A/c ran 24/7 between 67-72. It was a pleasant surprise that our worst electric bills in July and August 2012 did not exceed $246. (The utility bill in our neighbor's similar house was $500 plus.) Our house is near an Interstate and sits on a major thoroughfare. The windows have reduced traffic noise substantially! .A year later we have no regrets. As an aside, I noticed a few weeks ago, on the south side exposure windows, that the caulk is separating in some places. I guess I didn't expect maintenance would be required so soon. I will be checking into that to see if it is the norm. Perhaps you will find it helpful to ask about this when you are securing your bids. Good Luck.
Description of Work: Replaced 16 double hung wooden Anderson windows with their top of the line vinyl windows in the spring 2012. The crew removed the old windows and installed the new windows on a two story home.

We had our old vinyl windows replaced with more energy efficient windows. They were easy to work with and did a great job. They did not oversell, or pressure us in any way. The product looks great, and the installation was quick and easy. The installers were very friendly, and efficient. They were careful not to leave a mess, and did a great job in sealing around the windows. We are very happy with our windows, and can already tell the difference between our old windows.

I had 5 windows installed in my home. The windows look great and I had a great experience with the install. They cleaned up and were on time. The salesman came out to write up the contract and take the measurements. The installers showed up when promised, did a careful job removing the old doors/window, cleaned up their mess well. They were courteous, polite, and thoughtful. I have used WW many times over the years and have never had a problem with them. The windows have lifetime breakage guarantees. In another house of mine, one of their windows was hit by a rock and cracked badly. I called the company for a free replacement under their warranty. I simply gave them the serial number of the old window, they had record of it from 2006, and they provided a replacement that I just popped right into place. Easy. I've never ordered sliding glass doors from them before. They did a good job on both doors. One was installed in the wood frame wall of the kitchen and the other was installed in the concrete foundation of the basement. Both worked out well. They lock very tightly and are holding up to the winter weather well. The workers did a good job sealing up the crevices with caulk (they did a good clean job with the caulk--nice straight lines with even application). They put moulding around the outside edges to give it a nice finish. I feel the temperature difference in my kitchen! The only surprise I had was the greenhouse window (a window that juts out about a foot and a half with glass on all side and a shelf for plants). Total sticker shock on that--over $2K--but we really wanted one and I had suspected that they'd be at least $1500 from the research I had done. We bought it and have been really happy with it. My take on all these vinyl folks is that they're all basically the same and they buy from the same manufacturers. The prices are set--no real haggling. Seem competitive in pricing. I've stuck with WW and they have always done a good job for me.
Description of Work: I had two sliding glass doors replaced (one in my kitchen and one in my basement) and a greenhouse window installed over the kitchen sink (replacing a standard window there). The old stuff was vintage 1976 from when the house was built and sorely needed replacement.

The entire experience earned an A+ for Window World from me. Steve the salesman was on time for both appointments we made to meet and discuss the contract. The sample windows he carried in with him definitely helped me visualize what I was purchasing. He even brought them back for the second visit so I could see them again. I honestly discussed my concern that the installers would be "contractors", and was reassured that the installers were quite reliable. I asked Steve to meet with the manager of our condo neighborhood to make sure the windows would meet the requirements of maintaining the current exterior look of the building. He was quite willing to do this. He then discussed the contract, front and back, with me in detail. I was impressed with the detail of the contract and the information including what I could expect from Window World before, DURING, and after the installation. As promised, I received a telephone call from Window World when my windows had arrived, and a time and date for installation was scheduled. This was a very large project for me, and I was a little concerned how the actual installation would proceed and how qualified the installers would be. The entire experience was POSITIVE. Three men arrived on time as scheduled to install the windows: Matt, Tom, and Corey (I think I have the names correct.) Matt was the lead installer. The guys were terrific. They were neat, clean, professional, and experienced. They worked well together and each knew what their responsibilities were. The installers helped each other appropriately. They covered my carpets in the areas necessary to protect against dirt and damage. Even the ground and bushes outside were appropriately draped. Apparently my windows were the "originals" and were probably over 30 (thirty) years old. It was quite a job for them to remove them. One window required that Matt was on a ladder in the driveway of the building, in front of the garage door. My new windows had been carefully unpacked and hand carried into my condo. ALL debris was removed and discarded, and areas around the windows vacuumed before the installers left. All three of the men answered any and all of the questions I had during the process. I do not think they even took a break during the entire installation process. They did an absolutely OUTSTANDING job. My new windows were thicker than the old ones, and they were concerned that rehanging the blinds too soon might cause the blinds to disrupt the fresh caulk. After discussion with their supervisor and my salesman, we agreed that they would return the next day to hang the blinds. I really appreciated that my salesman checked in with me during the installation process and was available to help manage this issue. The next morning, the installers returned as scheduled, and quickly re-installed my blinds. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND WINDOW WORLD, MY SALESMAN STEVE, AND MY THREE INSTALLERS TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE I KNOW. I thought the day of installation would be stressful, but the installers were so professional and knowledgable, there was no stress for me. I love my new windows and am very pleased with my decision to use Window World. (I should do a commerical for them?!?!?!?)
Description of Work: Moved into a condo one year ago and decided my major project was to replace all the windows. My unit has nine (9) windows and replacements had to meet the requirements of the condo management to maintain the exterior appearance of the building. I obtained estimates from four companies; thought about it for awhile; and made a final decision two months later. I called the Window World Salesman, Steve, and asked him to return to to my condo to clarify my questions and requests, and to finalize a contract with me. Steve was so very thorough and patient. ALL of my questions and concerns were answered and clarified prior to signing the contract. All nine windows were replaced in less than a day. I included on my contract that window blinds and drapes would be removed and reinstalled by the window installers. This cost me extra but it was worth it.

I contacted this company for an estimate to replace 3 or so windows in my home because I saw a billboard that said their windows are $189 for any size installed. I was very impressed that I got the window estimate while the salesman was still at our home, but the price per window was higher than this promotion I saw. Now, I'm assuming that I needed to probably purchase a minimum number of windows to get this price, however the salesman did not offer any information regarding the $189/window promotion.
