Aspen Waste Systems

Jessica out of the Earth City, Mo. location was rude this morning. I called about my trash not being picked up for the second week in a row. Jessica informed me of all the things Aspen won’t do instead of trying to resolve my trash pickup issue. I have used an Aspen waste can and a competitor’s can who went out of business for about a year now. I found out today they will only pickup their trash can. It would’ve been nice to know this a year ago or better yet, when I set my service up with Aspen. Jessica was rude about the whole ordeal. At the end of the call, she said they’d make an exception to pick up my trash if it’s not in an Aspen can. I don’t see the problem as long as trash is out by pickup time and you’ve paid your bill. My address should’ve been on the pickup list considering my bill is paid. I will be leaving this company on my next billing cycle. They have way too many rules that they don’t inform the customer about. Clearly Unprofessional!!!

Aspen meets my needs. They pickup the trash/recycling at the same time and day per their schedule. They never leave a crumb behind. Holiday schedules are common sense and on their website. Their autopay works perfectly. Customer service is polite and up front on any additional services. It's like my power, water, natural gas. It just works. The only nitpick is the price. I perceive their price is high, but every time I shop for a cheaper deal, there are few to choose from (and those that are available have terrible ratings). When me moved into our St. Charles home 20 years ago there were 10 trash companies that would come to our house. One by one, WM acquired them, and one by one the price went up and service went down. After being automatically switched to WM for the 3rd time, we switched to Aspen.

Initially cost and service was good. The company added a steadily climbing Fuel/Enviro Surcharge that recently was reduced .04% with the price of fuel being down greatly. Along with that their monthly charge has steadily increased until now we are paying 30% more than in 5 years. timer Truck used to arrive early in the day, but now comes anytime in the afternoon.

I had credit card fraud against my account and therefore my automatic payment would not go through. Aspen waste decided to charge me $15 for a failed payment, and refused to remove it . I asked to speak with the manager, her name is Nicole. She also refused to remove the charge indicating they had done the same thing for me a year prior when I had fraud. She further insulted me by saying that I could not manage my banking nor pay my bill. I then asked to speak with her manager, she indicated they were in a meeting and he would call me back. I still have not received that phone call. I have paid my bill including the $15 charge and will discontinue service with aspen waste.

I had switched to this company due to their price which was good. They started to slide in a surcharge on the bill which increased the cost by 24%.No notice was given that this surcharge was coming.

They kept raising their prices. started out at $47 per quarter and within a year it was up to $80.

Aspen Waste Systems charged us per quarter. Their services was prompt and they came out weekly.
