+ -1 morePhone company says the system was improperly installed which has caused telephone and computer problems for a year.
Description of Work: I bought a house with this existing alarm system. I upgraded the system for almost $1000.00 plus monitoring. The service has been horrible. Over the last 18 months, we have had various problems with the system. On each occasion, I scheduled with ADT to come out and do either repair or maintenance work. Four times they have made appointments, given us a five hour window (usually 12- 5 p.m.) and not arrived. Each time, we called them to find out the service person was delayed, and they wanted to reschedule. We were also told that the reps had no way to call the service techs to see where/ when they would arrive. We went along with this three times, but today, at 7 p.m., we canceled the contract. It was only after cancellation that ADT offered $150 for our not being able to use the system and waiting 10 days for an appointment with a service person who didn't arrive. While several of their reps were courteous, no one was empowered to do the right thing and get someone here.

+ -1 moreADT charged us a front door alarm. We noticed on a later date that we didn't have a front door alarm and called to have them install it. A service man came out and told us that we needed to call a sales person. Another appt. was made for them to come install it. Then the keypad stopped working within two months and we haven't been able to use a system for which we pay a monthly service fee. ADT wants to charge us $150 to come look at it, plus the cost of any repairs. When we explained that we just paid $2600 and don't think it's fair to have to pay for repairs on something newly installed, they said there was nothing else they could do. The national ADT company agrees with us but has not been able to get the St. Louis branch to return theirs or our calls and says that only the St. Louis branch can resolve our problem system.
Description of Work: We moved into a home with an existing ADT system that included an upstairs and downstairs key pad and two door alarms. ADT added: 4 vi-sonic transmitters, added 2 window/door alarms.

Description of Work: They converted a previously existing system adding some new door contacts, a new keypad, and three smoke detectors.

+ -1 moreTHEY CAME OUT ON TIME, THEY PUT THE ALARM SYSTEM IN, AND THEN AFTER SETTING UP THE SYSTEM I HAD TO HAVE THEM COME BACK, AND RESET SOME THINGS TO GIVE ME MORE TIME TO GET IN, AND SET THE CODES. THEY CAME RIGHT OUT WHEN I CALLED FOR HELP. IT WAS VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE.
