Frisella Nursery

September 8, 2020, we entered into a $6,000+ contract for landscaping they said would be completed in October. The contract states 30% due upon signing (we paid $3,000) and 70% upon completion. When they didn't show, we called and after a several week run-around, we finally got some of our items planted late November. In February, Zach asked us to pay for the partial work done; still no date for the remainder of our work. An installation date of mid-April was given, so my husband paid another $1,900, in good faith (shame on him). At some point an installation date of mid April was then moved to mid May; same nonsense as last fall. Now, Zach and Mike will not call us. We have no recourse but to work with Visa to withdraw our payment. In addition, at least 2 of the trees planted late November appear dead and the rest don't look good. The trees, which are large, were not staked, except for one stake that the installer removed from our existing tree without asking permission. Don't trust their word, follow the contract and go somewhere else if you want the work done in a timely manner.

Each time we go to Frisella Nursery we are always impressed with the professionalism and courtesy extended to us. Kudos to both Laura and Juliana for making us feel so comfortable and appreciative. It’s not a matter of how big of a client we are or how much money is spent - we are treated with detail and concern for our needs.

OK, but had a long delay for installation due to weather conditions in spring. Justin Verbryck (the landscape designer) was extremely helpful and kept trying to get the project completed in timely manner. The final product looks fantastic! Had a few issues with buried cables, but Justin got that fixed quickly.

The are a good professional company.

Outstanding work! They did an amazing job transfoming a slipper grass slope into beautiful natural looking stone stairs.

I would recommend them to anyone. They have had an wide selection available. The designer who was from the area, recommended the low maintenance plants. Really great job.

Planting, mulching, and they cleaned up after themselves.

When it budded in April, I found it was a white oak. Frisella recognized the mistake and agreed to replant it with the correct tree. However, they did not get out to replant it until June 2015. The new tree died by late July. I called back and they suggested I wait until February 2016 to replant it. I did not hear back from them until late March 2016. They then promised to have the new tree planted by mid April. Now it's the 2nd week of May and the chance of the tree surviving with a late planting is dropping fast. At this point, I just want my money back.

Fabulous! They gave us very detailed instructions on plant care, followed up, and even came out 6 months later to look at the plantings!

They did a really good job. The designer really came through for me.

It took them about 2 1/2 mos to do the work. They tore up our side yard pretty badly because of all the rain we had. We had to have them come back out to resod that area. In general, it was difficult to get them to answer the phone. Communication with them from beginning to end was a source of frustration with us. I also think they were subcontracted with another group and we would get calls from the subcontractor on payment, and we'd point them back to Frisella. It took them a while to get our in ground fertilizer put in as well, and they had to come back out and do that.

They did an AMAZING job! Ver professional and attentive to the last detail. They left the site looking like it could be in a Homes and Garden magazine! They helped me design and chose the right pavers with a natural look that I wanted to maintain and did a great job adapting to the space. The damage to the established plants was minimal even with limited access for the equipment. They even replanted some of those they had to move! The crew was hardworking, clean and very easy to deal with.... The job was done so professionally with no cut corners and down to even sweeping the garage when done! I can't say enough about the professionalism and attentiveness of this outfit! Highly, highly recommended!

I researched landscape architects and arrived at this company as being the best bet, based on reviews and proximity to our home. I contacted them and they had their landscape designer call me the same day. She notified me that the visit and consultation would cost me $150, however if we ended up purchasing the job then the amount would be credited to the invoice total. They arrived as planned, however were significantly late for whatever reason. The lady was very pleasant and helpful, not to mention extremely knowledgeable; I was truly impressed. When we wrapped up her visit, she said that she would contact me in 2 weeks so that myself and my wife may stop by their office to go over the quote and take a look first hand at the landscaping she designed in the plan. We verified my email and phone number, and she went on her way. Fast forward 3 weeks. No call. No email. I called her and she said that she had been extremely busy and that she needed another week to complete the design and quote. I said no problem. Fast forward to today...nearly one month since that last conversation. Totally unacceptable...no need to elaborate on the reason I say this. So we will NOT be using this company, even if they comp'd the $150 we would have to have paid if the actually had us come out. At this point, I am very uneasy in terms of dependability, and everyone on Angie's list likely has this at the top of their list in choosing contractors. Hopefully someone at the top of their organization sees this and puts into motion a better way to track customer appointments and timelines promised to prospective customers, as this was very frustrating for us. We chose not to look at other suppliers in town, since she took the time to come out and quote something for us...and seemed like a very nice person. Now after waiting a couple of months since we started the process, Fall is almost here and we are unlikely to do anything until next Spring. If you do choose to have this company come out to quote, my only suggestion would be to make sure and hold them to their 2-week 'promise', or else you may find yourself lost in the pile with us.

Over all I had a really good experience with Purcella nursery through James’s representation. The project I had was split into two phases, fall and late spring. I have two large planter boxes in the front of the house and 3 larger planter boxes in the back of the house. Horticulture is not exactly my specialty so I needed someone who had a deeper knowledge in design than I and from a reputable nursery with a wide inventory of plant options. After my second meeting with James I was confident in his judgment and character and let him design the project completely. After taking into account the irrigation, soil quality and shade variables, James was able to recommend a design, using a wide variety of perennials and annuals that fit the space, theme and poor sun exposure. It took him and his team couple of days to complete the project as rainfall and competing projects from other customers disrupted their progress a bit. I knew of that probability going into the project though. The end result was brilliant color, great textures and fantastic flow. His team of landscapers were very knowledgeable, respectful and great to work with. I’m looking forward to a maintenance agreement moving forward for pruning and fertilization.

Fall of 2013 had them aerate and fertilize my yard. I was happy with performance and job. This spring decided I wanted to have a yard maintenance plan through them and several other yard services completed. I called them and spoke to their service manager several times. I told him what I was looking to have done and he said he would get back with me. After NOT hearing from him I recalled again and spoke to him again. He said he would mail out to me a list of services they offered. I did receive the list but there was no prices on the different services. I again called and they said they would send the various price structures out. I did NOT receive them so I called again and was told that they didn't have my e-mail address so I gave it to them. Still I did NOT hear from them. After several weeks I tried once more and James (their service manager) apologized and said the Lady who usually handles this had been ill. I told him I was very sorry to hear that and I understood the delay. He said he would get the information out to me. It has now been 3 months and I have still NOT heard from them. I'm thinking that if you don't have a west county address that they don't want your business. I live in Fenton and I am under the impression that my money is just as good as the money in west county. I am very sad and disappointed in them.

They were very helpful in giving us a little history on the plants. It was around March.

I e-mailed Tom and about a week later had an appointment with Dan. He couldn't find my house and was late, after checking he said he'd need their drainage guy to come out, he said wednesday, then friday, then monday. Monday they were 30 minutes late to the appointment. Then his drainage guy was going to e-mail me the estimate the following wednesday, he didn't so I called to check, they said Jake had not been in the office all week, but would send it to me the following day, he didn't so I e--mailed the company again, saying how frustrating it is to constantly be calling them back/e-mails. It's been 3 weeks now and after 8-10 phone calls and e-mails, they've not even submitted a bid yet, not to mention all the times they'll come out or send bid and don't, it just a waste of my time.

They had a good variety of plants. They provided me with good information. They were able to answer my questions about plant care. They had the plants that I wanted. I think that their prices were a little high.

Loved the people working here. Best nursery yet. The trees planted are still thriving and doing well. Love the people here.

They're very knowledgeable. They helped us pick the right kind of plants for our environment. All the plants that I purchased are doing very well. I give them A's across the board.

We have had very good luck with them and are very happy with them for nursery needs. I would give them high marks.

I used the team at Frisella Nursery to redo an entire part of my lawn a few years back. Frisella Nursery was very creative and the work they do is very unique. I was very happy with the work they did and I would use them again in the future.

They said they would not even come for an estimate for a job under $2000.
