Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel, large electric fireplace enclosure, screened in porch addition to front of vacation home.

Description of Work: We have been very happy with the addition and renovation work that Mike and his crew performed on the 75 year old house we bought last year. It did take longer than expected and cost more than the original estimate, but that was mostly because previous owners of the house had put a good cover on bad work that had to be rectified once it was exposed, and because we decided to add several features as we went along. Mike was very good at showing us the problems that his crew uncovered, and coming up with reasonably economical ways to fix them. We now have a very efficient easy to maintain and up-to-code house with every modern convenience in a great part of town, without having lost any of the charming features that made us fall in love with our little old cottage in the first place. Mike made sure that the old and new blended together perfectly. A few times I let him talk me into some detail I was not sure I would like, but he knew what he was doing and I always agreed he was right in the end. We love all the between-the-studs storage cubbies he put in the addition (you need all the storage space you can get in a sub 1150 sq ft home!). The re-do of the original death-trap basement stairs into sturdy steps with nearly 7 feet of head clearance is in itself amazing. Mike and his crew even made it reasonably pleasant for us to live in the house during much of the renovation.
