TrueSon Exteriors L.L.C.

The store had a list of contractors who could install them, but I immediately thought of calling TrueSon Exteriors, who did our exterior renovations a few years ago. We got a reasonable quote from the owner, Barry Roewe, and he even had the doors picked up at the store for half of what the store would have charged to deliver them. His crew of two had them installed in a little over two hours, and they did a very good job. We would definitely recommend TrueSon Exteriors for your home renovation needs.

I have to say, the conditions for building our deck, or just working outside in general, were awful. It rained for 7 consecutive days, and those guys worked straight through it. I was/am so impressed. We ended up with a beautiful deck, and we couldn't be happier. There was one mistake, that caused some rain to leak in to the house, but when I contacted Barry Rowe on a Saturday evening, he responded immediately and had a man out the next day (SUNDAY!) to fix it. I can not say enough how great it is to have timely replies from the owner of the business. He also went through and inspected the work that was done, and then had his crew come back out to fix the things he didn't find acceptable. We will definitely use them again.

We are really pleased with the quality of the work performed and flexibility when we needed to make a change or addition to the project. Our contact was very responsive to questions or inquiries.

We are very pleased with the job TrueSon did on our home. They got it all done in one day and that included taking all the old roof off, repaired some of the roof structure and cleaned up.

TrueSon, specifically Nevada, was very good to work with. We received a reasonable estimate. I had 3 estimates done & their estimate was competitive. The Angie's List coupon offer they had made them the winner in the end. The things I like most about the job was how quickly they made it happen, how fantastic the new (architectural) shingles look, & how great the upgraded ridge vent looks. I had a couple of issues (which is why I docked them a notch on 'professionalism'), but they made it right in the end. First the sub-contractor failed to sweep the area around the house with a magnet & left numerous nails in the yard & drive (ouch). Nevada came right out & swept it to make things right when I brought this to his attention (pulling up a LOT of nails). Second the invoice didn't include the Angie's List coupon, but they quickly adjusted this when I brought it to their attention. In summary, in the end I'm pleased with how it turned out, I just had to pay attention to the little things.

TrueSon made three visits out to estimate putting a small window (22x34") on the side of the house, two stories up. First the manager, then he wanted the project manager to see, then they wanted the installer to see. This took a couple weeks of visits then they estimated $300 for the the window and $1,100 to install. The window quoted was "Great Lakes". I've built two houses, had some experience with windows and had never heard of Great Lakes, nor could I find much on the internet about them so asked if I could substitute a Consumer Reports recommended brand at Lowe's or Home Depot. They said yes and I found a Reliabilt at Lowe's, same specs, for $79. It was a little disconcerted they had overbid the window by so much, asked them if they could do the job for $1,000 (24 man hours they said), instead of $1,100. They said no and I hired David Hall Construction and remodeling to do it for $850 (I buy the window). I never told them they did not have the job and they have never called back, (two months), asking about it. One has the feeling they did not want the job, did not how to say no so just overbid it. I got their name originally from Angie's List "A" rated and was the first AL recommendation I wasn't completely satisfied with.

They were very prompt. professional and polite. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Trueson Exteriors was a wonderful choice for us; they made the whole experience stress-free. Barry Rowe, owner, was always easy to contact throughout the process and was happy to answer all of my questions, no matter how dumb. (and some were pretty dumb) Barry has confidence in his employees and it shows; Brian and the crew followed through on every detail of the plan and were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. All 21 windows were replaced in two days I believe then wrapping the exterior and final touches took another 3 days. I couldn't believe they could do the work in the wintertime without freezing us out but they did, no loss of house heat which was extremely nice. We were very pleased with Barry's competitive price and will call him again, actually, we already have....

We did not end up having the work done. If we had, we probably would not have gone with TrueSon because they did not provide us with any options. The price for the full job was reasonable.

I live on the West coast, so I was organizing this work from a distance. I have family living in the house. The True Son staff were all very responsive and helpful. They were the only company I called that sent me pictures of the damage with the written estimate. I gave them a "B" on cost because their estimate was about $1,000 higher than the insurance estimate. However, I was so impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism, that I chose them despite the higher estimate. Also, they sent me links to the shingle company website, and I was impressed with the quality of the materials they were using. Because the roof was leaking, they put a tarp over the damaged area immediately after I signed the contract. Also, they moved my job to the front of the queue because we had an active leak. I think they did the work within 2 weeks of doing the estimate (they originally estimated a 4 week wait). They finished the job as promised and on time. I have not been back to Missouri since the new roof was installed, but they sent me pictures of the house with the new roof. From the pictures, it looks great. My relatives report that it seems to be good. It comes with a very good warranty that they mailed to me. If we experience any problems, I will update this post.

Below was my original rating which I am amending. I was contacted by the provider about my review and we figured out where the miss communication happened. The provider immediately came out and made the necessary corrections. I am very pleased with his service and am very pleased he made the effort to fix the problem even after well over a year. I would definitely use him again. The Angie list and rating system really works and gives the customer and service provider a way to be fair too both parties. Well the initial contact was good and the quote was good as well. The owner who did the quote was really busy and did not come with his crew to oversee the work. The crew fixed the place that had to be repaired but on the flashing of the car port roof they had to come back because they did the wrong side. That led me to believe did the original bid/estimates cover the real problem. The down spout on car port was to be moved to stop water from pooling behind the house and they failed to do that on both visits. I left a couple of messages and never heard back. I rated them the way I did because we have had no more leaks on roof so that mission was accomplished.

Trueson Exteriors is as advertised "Attention to detail". We will be having them back for additional improvements.

We contracted in August, 2013 with TrueSon Exteriors to oversee the replacement of the siding (masonite to vinyl), wood deck, gutters and downspouts, window shutters, and three porch columns on our 25-year-old house. The work began in October, 2013 (the delay was our fault, not owner Barry Roewe’s) and was completed in nine days (including a weekend off), which was one day earlier than projected. It is our opinion that his crew and all the sub-contractors did an extremely good job; we were quite pleased with the speed of the work’s completion and the quality of the finished products (and I am not an easy-to-please customer). Barry Roewe was easy to deal with, and the cost seemed reasonable. Barry quickly took care of the few end-of-job issues we found; he even had his workers install our new exterior lighting fixtures at no additional cost (this attention to detail was much appreciated). We would definitely recommend TrueSon Exteriors for your home renovation needs.

I called him up one afternoon to price my home rapiers he came out in about 2 hrs. later to give me a free estimate and I singed him up on the spot. About 2 weeks later a army of guys came to the house to tear down and replaced it. In all it took about few hours small job with an army of people, they didn't leave a nail on the ground or anything at all. It was a great job and professional job too! Few days later the guitar guys came out and repaired sofit and guitars didn't take to long but still very professional. the whole time Berry keep in consist contact with me to make sure everything was good and that I was happy.

Beware of people who base thier price based on how much money you have. A job should be based off of what it costs to do!!!!

It went very well. They called us several times telling us they would be there after their original scheduled job. They showed up, and got job done fast, within an hour or so.

Though I had never met him, I have seen Barry Roewe at the gym for years so when he showed up to bid on my new roof, I felt I as though I already knew him. His bid was $2300 higher than the lowest bid but I chose Barry because of my knowledge of him and what I felt to be a man of character. I am "old school" with "old-fashioned" values and a handshake is as good as gold. For certain, I was upset when I found out my $16,700.00 roofing job was subcontracted to CSG Restoration. In fairness, the roof was installed as promised; however, I would have appreciated full disclosure of the apparent common subcontracting practice. I would have saved myself the $2300 and gone with the cheaper bid. I paid the extra for Barry Roewe and I got "subbed". By the way, CSG Restoration did an awesome job - see review. I just I could have avoided the middle-man.

This was a perfect match from start to finish. Barry provided an easy to understand detailed estimate, good question and answer session, friendly, highly skilled and professional workers, and excellent cleanup. I couldn't find anything to complain about but found a great deal to brag about. This was one of the best contract jobs in the 40 years I have owned this place. In the future I wouldn't choose anyone else..

The owner gave quick and fair price quotes. He was pleasant to work with and answered all of our questions satisfactorily. The crew arrived on the scheduled day at approximately 6:00am and fiinished approximately 12:00pm. They worked steady; no playing around and did work exactly to our specifications. They cleaned up all the debree to the point where we couldn't tell they were ever here. They are friendly, professional, hard working and I would recommend them to anyone!

The contractor came to the house, he set up his ladder and took measurements, then he left. We received the estimate a few days later. The only reason why this contractor did not get the bid is because his estimates did not show the details and price break-downs.

The guy doing the roof (not sure what his name was) came by a few days before they were scheduled to work and took final measurements. He said that they would be there at 7 am on Friday. They showed up 15 minutes early and got to work. Wish I had been there to see them work! Our neighbors made a point of coming over and telling us how quickly they worked. The room was torn off and reshingled in record time. There were 6 guys working on it. When I got home in the early evening the roof looked great and there was absolutely no sign that they had even been there. Everything was cleaned up! I walked around the house looking for shingle parts or nails and couldn't find a thing!

Overall, was pleased with the work. They showed up on time and the crew worked very hard. They were interrupted by , of course, a brief rain shower. ( Hadn't seen rain in weeks, except for that morning). A little water leaked in around the sky light that I was able to catch in bowls. The crew was EXTREMELY thorough in the clean up. They were done by mid afternoon despite an hour rain delay. Both the roofing crew and the owner were very polite and professional. Kept insisting if we had any issues to just call. We have had several storms/rains since and no leaks or issues have been observed.
