Blake Mahoney promised to build a metal garage building for me, including demolition of an existing garage. He collected $5,000 down payment then another $2,345 for rebar and permit costs. He produced a false invoice for the rebar. That totals $7,345. There is no record that he bought any materials except two loads of rock that were delivered to the site. He did demo the building which was listed as $2,500 in his bid. He promised to start within two weeks of signing the Feb 1 contract. He repeatedly promised to do work which did not get done. Two months later I removed him from the job and cancelled the contract. I give him credit for $2500 to demo the building plus $500 for the rock, so total of $3000. He needs to return the remaining $4,345 ($7345 minus $3000). One more interesting clue is that he took my checks directly to my bank and cashed them. He did not deposit them into the business account.
