 + -1 moreI also contacted Aarow Building for a second estimate. They responded the same day I sent my request in and the owner Jake came to my house and gave me an estimate a few days later. Needless to say, I am going with Aarow and not Easely.
Description of Work: I want to have some work done in my 1989 house and contacted Mr. Easely through Angie's List to get an estimate. It's been 2 weeks since I sent the request and have not heard from him at all. I certainly won't try them again.

 + 1 moreThe work went very well. We met with Sam, discussed the requirements, and spent some time discussing various gutter-guard options. Sam was very thorough about gutter guards because of the diversity of products on the market and their varying success. The work was completed within about 5 days.
Description of Work: We've had Sam do a lot of work for us over the last 10 years, including construction of a garage, bathroom remodeling, and ceiling/drywall work. The latest project included replacement of soffits, gutters, downspouts, and installation of gutter guards for the entire house.

 + -1 moreSam was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us honest answers on what we needed and did not. We was very responsive over the phone and arrived at our home for the estimate on time. The verbal estimate was competitive, however, he never provided a written estimate as requested. I believe he forgot about us as he never followed up.

 + 0 moreAnother contractor had told us we would not be able to get a new tub into the bathroom without tiling it and his estimate was quite high. Mr. Easely cut out the old tub and surround, rebuilt the wall to accomodate the new tub, moved the plumbing over and put in a three piece surround. It looks great and he did not tear up the ceramic floor that would already in place in the bathroom. He kept his work area clean and did not make a big mess in the rest of the house. He also did a great job matching the construction on the porch railing to the existing railing. He will be the one we call for future projects.
Description of Work: We hired Sam Easley to replace a bathtub in our masterbath and to replace porch railing.

 + 1 moreIt was a big job and we were very satisfied with the work. This was the second time we've hired him to do work for us. He had remodeled inside our home for our handicapped son. He had built a ramp in back and built a handicap bathroom 3 years prior. We've had a couple of issues with the kitchen. Something was a little crooked so he came back and he touched up some paint. We would hire him back and we have recommended him to other people. He is really reasonable in price. He is not the most expensive or the cheapest; he is right there in the middle. We really liked his work. He cleaned up all the time because the dust was a problem in a big remodel.

 + -1 moreIn all of the remodeling jobs that Sam worked on, he did a complete analysis of what had to be done. In building a handicapped accessible bathroom, he took the walls of the old bath down, increased the footprint, put in a slanted door to maximize space and he made sure that I knew where he had put 2 x 6 planks around the room to anchor additional rails to. He advised us to widen the doors which accessed the area to 36" (even though 32" is deemed suitable for wheelchair access). The extra inches turned out to be very insightful and we feel fortunate that he made the recommendation. Otherwise we would have had to do the widening later. He could not find a handicap shower to fit into the space so he built a custom shower from tiles. In all of the other jobs that he did for us, he paid close attention to detail and quality. The kitchen remodel he completed this past year was a marvel. He recommended tiles and laid them in a diagonal pattern. It looks stunning and makes the room seem much larger. I could go on and on about the quality and detail of his work. I highly recommend Sam.
Description of Work: Sam Easley is the only contractor I will hire. He has worked on 6 remodeling jobs for me and the quality of his work is excellent and the price is fair. He guarantees his work for life. If there is ever a problem he will fix it at no cost. There are virtually no problems with his work, but the very few time where something minor needed to be fixed, he was prompt and true to his guarantee. I was fortunate to meet him nearly four years ago in a time of need when a sick relative was being released by the rehab center in Columbia with two days notice and needed a place to stay. We had to find someone to build a handicapped ramp and modify a bathroom for handicap accessibility. Sam was the only contractor willing to get a functional ramp up in the short time that we had. He was able to get city permits, inspections, and build the basic ramp in time. He was a life saver. He then put the finishing touches on the ramp and it is an incredible structure. He also built a custom handicap accessible bathroom in a space which was not very large. I did not think it could be done but turned out amazing. Since that time he has worked on a number of projects including a kitchen remodeling this past January. He was able to make a small dingy kitchen into an amazingly beautiful heart and sole of our home. We think of Sam as being part of our family. He is a wonderful person and great to work with. His work quality is unsurpassed and he is fair.
