Very well. No complaints. Bill seemed a bit higher than estimate, but close enough. We have used their services in the past and always had a good experience. Work was completed in one day. They came back promptly when we asked them to fill in an area with insulation material around an exhaust pipe that was not completely filled at time of installation.

Elderly mother in law had a service contract with Chapman Heating and Air. They talked her into a $9,500 new AC unit saying it was leaking and needed to be replaced due to age. We contacted Reed and they came out and tested the whole system and it was functioning properly. Only problem was a pan was rusted in the system which they replaced at $400. Called Chapman and cancelled the service contract due to dishonesty. I would highly recommend Reed Heating and AC.

Business like, friendly, and didn't make fun of my unsuccessful first attempt to connect fan. I was afraid I had blown the electrical circuit and fried the fan. Luckly all went well.

When we first moved to Columbia (summer of 2012), I called the company to do a 1st time maintenance because the AC was not keeping up very well w/the extreme heat. At that time they did routine maintenance and assured me that the AC was functioning as well as it could given the record heat that mid-Missouri was experiencing. That cost was $130. Because I lost track of the need for seasonal maintenance, I only scheduled another maintenance appt late this spring . The maintenance charge was $112 ("changed filter, checked the electrical components, washed condenser coil and cycled and checked the operation of the unit."). This time, it was noted that the safe pan was rusted through and should be replaced. A few weeks later they sent an estimate for the repair work ($273) and that repair was completed in early June. I expect the actual bill for that to be the same, but I have not as yet received it.

I was happy. I used them several times in the past year. They're kind of reliable. I recommend Reed. The price was pretty reasonable.

We were very satisfied. Every time we call them it was weekends and nights, yet they came right out and fixed our furnace.

My husband was home for the repair, but it sounds like the repairman was here a long time for what was done therefore driving up the cost. Not sure of the specifics of the repair but we have used this company before and would use them again.

It went well, as usual. Our AC had stopped working and Reed AC came out the same day. They inspected it, found a worn out part, replaced it, and were on their way. It was fast and reasonably priced. We will continue to use Reed.

Great! Very through. Took the air conditioner apart and cleaned it(outside one), same thing with the heater. Changed the air filter for the home intake in the hallway. Helped with suggestions to seal the crawl space to make it more efficient. Also used some sheet metal to close a rusted place in my bathroom vent from under the house. Didn't even know it was rusted. I will be using them again for any of my check-ups or problems.

Jim (Reed) was very responsive, came right over, worked hard to find the problem, replaced an igniter for $53 which may or may not have been broken until he took it out but it was not the cause of the problem in the end. I peg him as an honest guy and know that even though igniters can break easily, that it was indeed broken by the time it was removed so will not dwell on that. He suggested I needed a new control board, put one in and the system fired up automatically. He was over a couple hours for the repair. When he left I asked to settle the bill (how much) and he said he would mail it. It took several weeks to get the bill and when I saw that he had charged about double what I could get a new control board for on the internet, I asked if I could replace the one he used in my system. He agreed, it took awhile (10 days) to find and receive and then he said tiny little scratch marks indicated it was used and he couldn't accept. It took even longer to return the board, get a refund, and order a new one and he got, understandably, a little testy with threats to report this to the credit bureau if he didn't get his replacement. The replacement came and was delivered but not without some ill feeling between both of us as I thought he had way overcharged in the first place. I would not use him again only because of the ill will between us. He probably is a good man for the job.

Called back very promptly and scheduled convernient time for next day. Employee identified problem and called a parts order which was delivered to house in about 15 min. The employee meanwhile disposed of rusted parts and then finished job. Was very knowledgible and informed us that the vent that was there had been incorrectly installed or was very old and replaced it with double walled vent pipe that is up to code. If I had done this myself I would have use the incorrect materials which could have posed a venting hazard or a fire hazard.

They called and asked if they could come a day earlier than the scheduled date, which worked out well for us. Was able to trouble shoot and correct the problem quickly. Good service, though as with all service companies that come to your home you can expect to pay between fifty and a hundred dollars just to have them come out.

I got a call from the company at my office. Before I could drive the 10 minutes home, the guys had already gotten to my house, diagnosed the problem, and were waiting on my to approve the repair. They didn't try to oversell the problem or scare me into buying a new system. As a grad student with little extra income, I appreciated this greatly!.

They were too busy and didn't want any new customers for at least a week. If your a/c goes out during 100 degree weather, I hope you're one of their existing customers. I don't understand this business model.

The technician did a thorough inspection and we were told that the AC was in excellent condition and that in this heat (multiple consecutive days above the century mark!) many capable units were struggling to keep the temps in the low 70s. We took him @ his word (how many companies are there that do NOT rush to sell you a product they offer!?!) When the temps dropped into the lower 90s our AC performance was fine. My expertise is not suffiecient to assess his evaluation, but his comments seemed reasonable.

Reed Heating and Air provides great service, and I will continue to use them as long as I live in this area. They always answer the phone promptly and politely, and they have great availability with same-day service when I've needed it in the past. They also tell me the time they'll be at the house (not a time range), and are willing to call me when they're on the way. In 2009, they installed my new air conditioner within a couple of days after a miserable heat wave killed my old unit. The new one was great and worked like a champ. One time, on a routine maintenance call, they also suggested the installation of an acoustic liner on the air return in my living room, after I commented that the noise was always a problem when the air or heat turned on (due to the poor location of the return, which was the fault of the inexpert builder of my house). This turned out to make a huge difference and was well worth the cost. I used to have to constantly fiddle with the television volume while the a/c and heat turned on and off, but no more! It was a major improvement.Another time, they noticed that the filter was hard to replace, and they machined for me a special hook to make it easier. I didn't even ask for that or comment on it- they just did it for me. How cool is that? That is really cool. I try to call them out to my house once a year or so to provide routine maintenance, which helps keep the system in good shape. They are always friendly, punctual, and professional, and I really appreciate their work!
