Very quick to come out and give an estimate the same day I called! However there were some issues with a broken fence and sprinkler head. Plus the fact they left the stump about 2 feet high. Be aware tree removal does NOT include the stump. Apparently that’s extra. They said they would send someone out but that was almost 2 weeks ago. I’m still waiting follow up has been very poor.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate for a tree removal. Estimator was supposed to arrive between 8 am and 9 am. Did not show for appointment or call. What a waste of our morning!

Removed four very large trees. Ground six stumps. Extremely happy with service.

The salesperson that visited me wowed me with his knowledge and willingness to share it with me. That sold me over other companies. I was very detailed in explaining what work I wanted done on certain trees, and less specific on ones that needed dead branches removed. The work took place several months later, after the first freeze per his explanation. When the work actually took place, I was less than satisfied. The back yard trees I wanted trimmed where stripped almost completely of lower limbs, which I was not prepared for. Dead limbs still remained higher up, and it was explained to me later that the higher ones would cost more -- which was not made clear the first time. The dead tree was removed, and the stump was ground to within an inch or two of the ground. I was thinking it would be lower, to just beneath the surface, but this was not asked by me or offered by the salesperson during estimate. The tree in the front yard looks great, and was thrown in at no charge, although I don't feel like I got what I paid for elsewhere. The price for me was an and quot;Aand quot; for the amount and quality of work done, it just wasn't the work I was expecting. The oak trees in back yard were thinned of dead wood as mentioned already, but other trees in back yard were not done at all, and I expected they would be. I initially agreed to have them come back and do the higher work on the oaks, but after requesting they call me to verify an appointment, they instead talked to my answering machine and told it when they would come out. I was unavailable to be home that day and decided to cancel the follow-up service altogether. My experience with tree services in general is that you need super explicit detail on the contract for what exactly will be done. You can't go branch by branch and limb by limb, but you can specify certain ones (attach pictures, which I didn't think of!), height, and which trees.

Nelson's does a good job with customer service, punctuality, and quality of work. The only thing I didn't like was that I asked them to call me when the work was scheduled so I could be at home with the work was done. I did not receive a call and therefore came home from my job to find the work was completed.

The work was good. I was hard to get ahold of them since they were so busy. Once you got ahold them, they were prompt and on time.

The worst experience with any service company.

Called to get a quote on mulch for our home. Heather was so professional, friendly and helpful that I called right back to make an order for delivery. THEN, I called back again to double the order and there was no hesitation at all. They delivered our mulch the SAME day and were very fast, courteous and professional. I know they also deliver firewood, so I will be making an order for that and more mulch. Great service, great price and great people.

They were careful, efficient, polite and fast: the work was the matter of a morning by the 4-man crew. I felt that Mr. Nelson knew what he was talking about and didn't try to snow me or get away with anything. Nor did he try to pressure me into doing the job (as another service had done.) He came to do the estimation when he said he would, and called to confirm the appointment for the removal. He willingly sent the insurance information to me. And even though I would ask for estimates again from 3 companies, his would definitely be one of them. I have no complaints and only good things to say.

They have been very helpful at the time that I need a tree removed. The staff are very professional and punctual. I am happy with the services that they provided me.

I had phoned multiple mulch providers in the area for delivery over the course of a few weeks, and either they never called back, or wanted to charge an excessive amount for delivery because I live 2 miles outside the city limits. I contacted Nelson's via email one evening, had a reply by the next mid-morning, then called them to discuss terms and prices the same day. Their per yard price was at least $5 less expensive than any other provider I had spoken with, and they delivered free because I ordered more than 5 yards. What a deal! The mulch was delivered two days later, as agreed to. Very satisfied with the quality of the product and the professionalism of the folks on the phone and at delivery. I will definitely use this business again.

I would recommend them. They were very straightforward and detailed. They told me exactly how much it would cost. They spent quite a bit of time trimming the trees as there were several trees that needed to be trimmed. They cleaned up after themselves very well. I was just very impressed with them. One of the trees was a very large oak tree and their man climbed it like a monkey. I thought that they did a very good job. They were very good but I don't think they were the best I could possibly have done. The price was the same I got from a couple of other companies that gave us estimates.

Originally, I looked them up in the Yellow Pages, but since then I've used them because they do a good job. They're good and they have a reasonable price. They do a really good job and they have an excellent price. They're responsiveness could be better because they're real busy. They are very professional.

Points in my favor were this forced me to look hard for their replacement and I found an extroridinary tree service that I would recommend to anyone.

I had an excellent experience with this company. The services performed were done at my home residence. They came to do an estimate within 48 hours of my first call, and within 10 days, they called to perform the services. They called me the morning of and asked if that same afternoon was convenient for me, and they arrived promptly. The owner himself came by as the workers started and then came back when the job was finished to make sure I was happy and satisfied with the work. I was very happy with the service and they did everything I needed, which was quite a list, and everything was done just as I had asked for it to be (they trimmed many trees away from the roof but left the shade up above, for example, not just hacking away at all the trees). They performed a myriad of work in just three hours. They even took the time to properly clean up and even raked up every last twig that had been cut down. After they left, I couldn't tell they had even been here, aside from the major trimming and grooming that had taken place. The owner was very pleasant and I would recommend Nelson's Tree Service for any job, big or small. We had larger trees taken out as well as simple trimming of dead underbrush and dying bushes. They even took the time to saw the little pieces that stick out from the branchs so that everything looked perfectly groomed. I am a young new homeowner and was nervous about dealing with the typical homeowner worries, but this company made me feel very much at ease with the process. If I ever need tree trimming services in the future, I wouldn't call anyone but Darrel Nelson. Not only was I satisfied with the service they performed, Darrel took the time to tell me what each tree in my yard was, how to take care of them, and what their growing habits are - that was special and it made me feel like I wasn't just dollar signs to them. Highly recommended!!!

TWO WEEKS PASSED AND NO CALL, SO I CONTACTED HIM AND HE GAVE ME A DATE HE WOULD BE ONSITE. TOOK VACATION DAY TO LET THEM ON PROPERTY. HE DID NOT SHOW. AFTER WAITING ABOUT AN HOUR, I TRIED CONTACTING HIM. AFTER TWO HOURS FINALLY TALKED TO HIM AND HE SAID HE WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE THAT DAY. ASKED HIM WHY NO CALL WHEN HE KNEW HE WAS UNAVAIABLE AND HE HAD NO RESPONSE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY AS TO COMMENTS ABOUT WHEN SERVICE WOULD BE DELIVERED BY OWNER HIMSELF. SINCE HE WAS A MEMBER OF BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND WAS THE REASON I USED HIM, I ALSO MADE THEM AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS. BBB DID NOT REPLY TO MY COMPLIANT.
