I called James Fencing to get an estimate on repairing a section of chain link fence that a large 12 inch limb had fallen on, plus I was wanting to see about resetting the post of an additional 40 feet. The lady said she would have estimator call which they never did but an estimate was emailed to me a week later but just for the damage section. To my knowledge no one had ever called(no missed calls on my phone) much less come to look at it. The estimate had no decipherable, at least by someone not in the trade, list of materials to be used. Even if it was itemized in a fashion the average homeowner could understand, where did the list come from? To my knowledge no one ever came to look at it and certainly no one ever contacted me. The deal breaking final straw was they said all small jobs must be paid in "FULL" before it would even be scheduled. This sounds to me like they have had enough unsatisfied customers not wanting to pay until the work was performed properly and secondly they were not interested in small jobs anyway even though I'm guessing this work will be between $800 to $1,300.00. I can understand and agree to a 30-50% up front deposit but not 100%. I've had flooring, painting, roofing, siding, basement repair and general contractors perform over $100,000.00 in work here over the years and not one has ever ask for 100% up front payment, 50% at the most. I didn't even bother to call them back. do business with them at your own risk.

We brought this house from James Fencing company and our backyard has been a major headache from the very beginning. Our backyard has a major drainage problem because this is a new development and James never put in drainage pipes for the back yard which is required that the developer do so. After numerous phone calls, letters to his office he finally called and said that I should call J.D. Kelly, escavator. Well, Mr. Kelly came out three times, and still did not finish the job. Last year when I finally talked to him for the last time, he told me as, always, that I should call J.D. Kelly, which I foolishly did again, and Mr. Kelly stated that James had not paid him forthe work that he did previously. I have videos of our back yard, it is a mess.I basically told him that I was not involved in the money dispute between the twoof them. Note: I also had the Columbia Civil Engineer come out and look at our yard. He said the same thing, it was the responsibility of James Fencing to have installed the drainage pipes for the development.

The gate on the privacy fence previously built by James Fencing had a split board causing the bottom hinge to detach. We called for an estimate and were told the minimum for coming out was $450 and the work could not be done until the following Monday. After discussing, we decided that the cost was exorbitant for the work needed (replacement of 3 boards and the hinge). My husband called the office and advised that were wanted other estimates and requested that the work not be done. However, the work was completed on Monday morning without our knowledge and we received a bill for $450. When we called the office they advised that the message did not get delivered to the person who repaired the fence. This was clearly a huge customer service issue. We were unhappy about having to pay the $450 for work we had requested not be done. We wanted to pay for the work we needed, but now we are forced to pay well above what others would have charged. After much discussion, we were given a $75.00 discount. We still feel we have overpaid dearly for the actual work completed. It is clear that the company has issues with customer communications. We would discourage anyone from using their services.

We calld to have a wood privacy fence placed soon after moving into our new house, the owner was very prompt and we were pleased at first, they had the fence completed in 3 days. About 1 month after it was completed, the boards started warping and deteriorating. We called the company and left a message for the owner to call back, he did not return our call. We called at least 5 more times to which the owner was never available and never returned our calls. We ended up replacing approximately 150 boards on our fence and the boards remaining from James Fence Co continue to deteriorate. We were extremely unsatisfied with the service and professionalism.

They came on the day they said they would and did the preparation work. They came back the next day and finished everything up. They were nice and polite and very professional. I would definitely hire them again.

Fence started curling at bottom of slats 3-4 weeks after installation of fence. Company used poor grade of materials and green wood. Gates on both sides are sagging. Company refused to correct situation. Did offer to send out slats and I could replace them personally.Will not use nor recommend them.

We are satisfied with the service they provided. They were wonderful.

Very responsive. George responded promptly to my message and I had a quote the same day I called. He discussed various options with me (wood vs. vinyl, designs available) and explained the pros and cons of each. His office staff was also very responsive to questions. I made my decision and he installed it the next day. I always noticed a lot of "James Fencing" labels around my neighborhood and now I have one on my fence! I highly recommend them.

James Fencing was recommended by the dog trainer we work with, and they were excellent! If I could give them higher than an A, I would. They arrived on time to give me an estimate. They got back to me quickly with the formal estimate, and it was equivalent or less than the local competitors I spoke with. I called back on Friday to confirm that we wanted them to install the fence. They were here before noon on Monday morning to install posts, which only took 2 or 3 hours, then left to let the concrete set. On Tuesday they arrived around noon again, and they were finished by the time I got home a little after 4. This was to install a little over 200 feet of 5' high chain link with a wire around the base. They cleaned up well and left an invoice in the door before they left. This company was great about answering phone calls and arriving promptly, and they worked very hard and fast. We have a very steep and rocky back yard, but the fence looks great! I would absolutely use them again!!
