Description of Work: Moving from one home to another. They stored my furniture for two weeks. When they unloaded the boxes & furniture from the storage space, the ill-trained, uncaring, unprofessional crew just threw my precious belongings into the vans. All boxes were marked identifying the fragility & contents. When the crew unloaded at my new home, I immediately began seeing crushed boxes & thus broken items. Also several boxes of collectibles & family treasures have never been found. The company management wouldn't answer my calls or emails requesting compensation or explanation. I reported Gaines Moving,& Delivery to the Columbia, MO BBB, but since they are registered with BBB & such creditable organizations, nothing was gained. Finally filed a claim against them, but never received complete compensation. I had used Gaines in Sept., 2013, & I was most satisfied, but the foreman in 2015 was a different one, who had not one iota of professionalism or punctuality about him! If A. G. had been in charge, this I doubt would have happened. The boys they hired were inexperienced, I believe, & just along for quick pay. These young men were not being supervised which is necessary if the company wants an upstanding review! Needless to say, I will not have or recommend to others. It a party wants to hire them, be certain to get things in writing with authorized signatures, so you don't have to go through my distressing, horrific moving experience.

 + -1 moreWhat a horrific experience! Upon them delivering my belongings to my new home I was very disappointed to find so, so many things broken or damaged. Much of my furniture is antique and / or family heirlooms which are unable to be repaired or replaced. After trying to contact owner Rodney Gaines several times, I finally received a call from his "moving manager", Marvis. Marvis finally agreed to come look at the items. Marvis scheduled an appointment at 12 p.m. on a Sunday to look at all of the damaged items. At 1:30pm I attempted to reach Marvis to inquire about his no-show as I had set my day aside to meet with him. Finally, just after 10:00 p.m. that evening Marvis called to inform me that he didn't show up to the appointment because he hadn't had a day off in quite some time and just wanted to go fishing! Although he did show up three evenings later, it's been over a month sand still nothing has been resolved. I have asked for assistance from them with this matter, including trying to reach the owner Rodney Gaines and he refuses to return my calls. My last call to this company was last June 23rd and finally today, June 29th Marvis returned my call, yet know resolution. They continue to push a furniture repair person of their choice, however, I am not confident that this will be an acceptable solution / provider to repair the quality of furniture that I own. Do yourself a favor and find another company to move your belongings. It'll be well worth your money and your stress level!
Description of Work: Gaines packed & moved my furniture from my home to a storage unit and then from the storage unit to my home as there was a time lapse between selling my current home and closing on the purchase of my new home.

 + -1 moreI have used Gaines Moving 3 times since I moved to Missouri and they are going to move me again on 6/3/2015. I highly recommend them.....I have lived all over the USA, N.Y., N.J., Calif., Chicago, and Atlanta and out of all of my moves I find them to be THE BEST !!!! For anyone that is moving, CALL GAINES they will make you move less stressful ! THANKS GUYS ;-)

Description of Work: They moved furniture in the house. They've loaded a trailer for us another time. And we bought something from a state sale. They picked it up and delivered to us.

 + -1 moreI would rate them pretty highly. They made sure they could accommodate us. They're good to work with. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.
Description of Work: I used Gaines Moving & Delivery last Thursday and Friday. It was over two days. We stored furniture with them overnight and it was very reasonable to do so.
