Laptop was in their shop for almost 4 weeks, Called twice during that time and was told they had ordered part. Went in to pick it up after almost 4 weeks and evidently they had taken it apart which was fine but they had disconnected or destroyed the internal wifi ability. Did not check it before I left the shop which was a mistake. When I got it home I could not get on server because it did not connect to the server through wifi. Took it to an IT person and he discovered that the internal wifi ability had been ruined. Of course too late to complain to them but found their service and honestly to be less than desirable.
Description of Work: Supposed to replace hinge on laptop. Clean

Both times that I have gone to Columbia Computer Center, I have walked out happy. The first time, my wife's computer had crashed. She isn't any better about backing up her music or her pictures than I am - she just has a lot more than I do. She was desperate to get them rescued and transferred. The guys a CCC saved the day, and the music and picture files. The wife is happy, so I'm happy. My laptop just up and died. It showed no signs of life at all. I took it in. They had it for a few days, got it breathing again and kept it in the shop for observation for one additional day - because they weren't 100% certain what the root cause of the computer death was. I called them back the next day and they said to come pick it up. I've been using it for a couple days now, and no problems. So, for the price of $50.00 I was saved from having to spend $800 on another laptop, and then setting that laptop up, and then trying to restore all the stuff that I still haven't backed up. Not bad for $50. Hey, I gotta stop and do some backing up right now. Just know that I had a really positive experience with Columbia Computer Center and would not hesitate to go back to them. Good service. Good price. Quality work. Sounds like a business model more companies ought to follow.
Description of Work: Resurrected my dead computer. They have also transferred data from a different computer, that crashed, to an external hard drive.

They are reasonable and so far they have fixed all my computer issues. The office isn't fancy; it's definitely a workingman's shop. There's nothing sitting around in your way, it's just not pretty. However, they do the job. When they say it's going to be done, they have it done. They call and give you a rundown if there's something else wrong to see if you want to fix it. They quote a price and they stick to that price.
Description of Work: I always take my computer to Columbia Computer Center when it blows up.

Very pleased with the service. They were very polite and explained everything without making me feel like an idiot. Definitely recommend them to anyone with computer problems. I think it was a fair price as well.
Description of Work: I had been having trouble with my Dell Laptop and nothing I did seemed to help. So I took my computer to them explained what was going on with it. They said okay we should know what the problem is within a couple days. I had dropped it off on a Friday and on Monday they called me and let me know it was a bad hard drive. Within another day or two they had it up and running like new.

It was everything they said it was to be. He was very satisfied. After about 90 days,he had a "board" malfunction, and they replaced it at no change within 2 days. This is very representative of their sales/service. We have been going to them for over 5 years, and sales and service have been outstanding every time. The owner, Dave, is personalbe and helpful. He uses "techy" age staff to do all his work, so they are up on the latest of everything! Only place we go for computers.
