Here it is 3 months after builder's warranty expired. Buckling of kitchen island "woodwork" noticed, presumably caused by plumbing leak. Reported the condition, was advised of warranty expiration, plumber recommended. Closer inspection indicated the paneling involved was not really woodwork, but in fact a composite with plastic coating, which generated my comment " The buckling mentioned is in the side paneling which instead of veneered wood appears to be a plastic laminate overlaying a composite more appropriate for temporary display than for any permanent kitchen installation." In other words, my complaint reduced to a comment on quality of construction, deteriorating not due to a continuing leak but again in fact, exposure to an ordinary kitchen environment. McBride had no response to that revelation, signifying agreement with my characterization of their workmanship and quality. I asked for compensation, if for no other reason that to maintain a favorable customer relationship. Failing that, Angie's provides this opportunity to expose a negative example of McBride construction and my disappointment with their devotion to customer satisfaction. Having done so, I will comment that McBride's sales force is suitably pleasant, friendly and sympathetic. Note - Since no service was performed, the "Address Where Work Was Performed" is not appropriate.
Description of Work: Nothing, with respect to my complaint.

Each new project cost extra because building codes were not followed. I'm finding out that I was fortunate not to have more deadly problems.
Description of Work: I purchased a new home from this company 14 years ago and now that I'm trying to update, I'm running into all types of problems with the electrical work. I'm replacing my lighting fixtures in 4 bathrooms and was told by the electrician that there are no lighting boxes only wires coming out of the wall. I was also told that this shouldn't have passed codes with St. Louis County. Many other things are coming to light with each new updating project. I would never buy a McBride & Sons home again because you take people's lives in your hands with the lack of follow building codes.
