Response from J & J Siding And Window Sales Inc
We sincerely appreciate our client's business and their feedback. Nevertheless, the assertion that we will not fix an improperly installed gutter is simply not true. To make the situation clear, a little over a month after installing new guttering on our client's home, they sent us a video of a particular gutter during a heavy rain. There was no indication that there was a problem with either the gutter itself or our installation. Rather, the video showed the gutter overflowing so heavily that it appeared very likely that the downspout was blocked or clogged. It's important to note that our client did not opt to have leaf guards installed on the new gutters, and J & J does not provide any warranty against clogged downspouts in such situations. Keeping gutters clear of debris is simply a maintenance issue, much like changing the oil in one's car. We shared those thoughts with our client and told them that we would be happy to come out and inspect the gutter. If there were any defect with either the gutter itself or our installation, we would gladly take care of the problem at no charge . However, cleaning out clogged gutters is not a free service. If we discovered that the problem did result from a blockage (such as might be caused by a bird's nest, a tennis ball, etc.), a small service charge would apply. After expressing those things, our client declined to have us visit their home. Because we did not hear from them afterward, we guessed that they cleaned out the gutter and resolved the issue on their own. Since this review was published, however, we have contacted the client several times to see if they would like us to send a technician to their home to inspect the gutter. While they have not responded, we remain happy to stop by and take a look. We are absolutely committed to standing behind our work, and we'd very much like to clear our name of any tarnish. Sincerely, Jake Parker Owner, Manager
